We had a very bad experience with Gophermods. Our daughter broke her brand new iPad screen (just the digitizer, everything else worked), and due to the pandemic (distance learning), we needed a new one in a hurry. We were thrilled to find Gophermods had immediate availability! Unfortunately, while fixing the screen, the technician somehow broke her home button. This itself isn't awful- these things happen after all. The real problem was when they offered to replace the home button with a new one that "had full functionality", minimizing the fact that the new home button would not have Touch ID! That's like taking your car in for a new windshield, and somehow they break your keyfob in half, then claiming the physical key still has "full functionality". Without Touch ID, it isn't "full functionality"- that's a major feature for a six year old! Apparently they are not a licensed Apple repair shop, despite having an Apple sign on the door and pictures of broken iPads that they offer to repair. From doing some research, it looks like only licensed Apple repair shops can fix this problem- something they did not disclose when we dropped off the device. They tried to convince my wife that this device would have "full functionality", but luckily, we thought to ask about Touch ID, and they finally acknowledged it wouldn't work. After some negotiating, they agreed to replace the device AND refund our money. However, the next day, they called and "corrected" and said they could only replace the device OR refund our money. Since they would not tell us where they were getting the replacement device (and I was concerned it would not be an equivalent device after all of this runaround), we insisted on getting a refund and our device back. The manager (I believe his name was Kyle) acknowledged that his employee spoke out of turn when offering to replace her device and refund our money, saying "we're going to have a talk about what to say and what not to say". In the end, we now have an iPad with a broken home button (doesn't work at all), and our six year old is crushed. Bottom line- repairs are hard, so your company should have a clear plan for when things go wrong. The staff tried to convince us that their replacement home button had "full functionality" (they kept using that term), but that was a lie, since it lacked Touch ID. They then said they'd refund our money and replace the device, but that was a lie. I am sad to say I will not take any more devices to this local chain. read more

Ecstatic I went with Gophermods over other PS3 repair companies. I was torn between Endless Electronics and Gophermods. Well, I'm glad I picked Gophermods to say the least. They were way more professional, actually answered my e-mails in a timely fashion, and overall gave me the customer experience I wanted. I'm always iffy about using online stuff, and especially sending my console out to a repair company, that I can't see! They reassured me with consistent updates. I received one when they received my console, and 24 hours when they shipped it out. I received more information in the package when I unpacked my console, and they were still available to help troubleshoot a small issues with a different console I had. Even though they didn't repair that one. Overall, a top rated experienced. I hope they expand and make their services more available. P.S. I imagine the guys compliant below is not deserving. Yes some of my e-mail updates with into my spam filter, so maybe if that guy checked his spam, I doubt he would be calling Gophermods a scam. read more

Had a broken ps3 for almost a year just sitting around. Had been wanting to get it fixed but couldn't find anywhere in town. Tried fixing it myself and couldn't figure out what was wrong. As a last resort I looked up ps3 repair on the internet and found Gophermods. For $19.99 they would at the very least do a diagnostic and tell me what was wrong. That included shipping. Well turns out just needed a new hard drive which they replaced for $60. They subtracted the $19.99 I paid for the diagnostic from that so for the total repair, shipping included, it only cost me $60. I'd say that was a very good deal considering I was ready to trash it. Also, this was all done very close to Christmastime. Getting it repaired was actually a gift we were trying to get done for our son. I honestly didn't think it would get done quickly enough to give to him. They got it shipped a week before Christmas and we were able to put it under the tree for our son to open Christmas morning. Thank you so much Gophermods. I would definitely recommend this service to anyone! read more

Gophermods has fantastic service. I shattered the screen on my personal Nexus 4 smartphone and it took them about 24 hours to fix it - and the delay was only because they didn't have the screen for my model in stock at the location I stopped at - in Plymouth. But they quickly got the hard to find screen and I was back in business the next day. I was very happy. I just used Gophermod services again last week, and they out performed my already high expectations. My son shattered the screen on his new Galaxy S4 and when I called late in the day expecting a couple day turn around, they let me know that the screen was out of stock at that location, but they had one at another location and they'd have it by opening of business the next day. I stopped early the next day and the screen was installed and tested in less than 20 minutes. I was out the door and on my way again. Their 1 year warranty on the screens is also fantastic. I highly recommend Gophermods for anyone needing phone screen replacement. read more

The Gophermods are Gopher-Gods!!! Casey Profita was an awesome company representative. I had an issue where my son's LG Cosmos Touch cell phone's sliding keyboard had broken and the tether had also separated and broke and we were unable to retrieve over 450+ precious pictures with so many school trip and other memories. Casey was able to lay out a solution to get the tether from another LG Cosmos touch phone and then replace the broken tether. Or so I thought...Not only was the tether fixed, but so was the sliding keyboard as well. So we got back a totally working phone and the 450+ pictures as well (which we have now saved in 3 different places). So Casey and the Gophermods made my son's Christmas so much better having gotten back so many memories that we thought had been permanently lost. Thanks Casey and ther Gophermods organization for representing yourselves so fantastically!!! Frank read more

This is my second time going to Gophermods and this place is awesome! They took a look at a phone that I had received from a family member that wasn't working. The charging port was broken. When they started to do the replacement they were able to see it had water damage. They called me to tell me this and so we didn't go ahead with the repair. Throughout the whole process, their customer service was fantastic! They explained everything very clearly, had quick turnaround, and didn't charge me anything for the work they did on the phone. If you ever aren't sure what is wrong with your phone, definitely have Gophermods check it out. I took a previous phone to another repair shop for a screen replacement to try to save money once and it ended up falling apart in less than a year. Gophermods is definitely worth the price! read more

As an out-of-town visitor, I stumbled across Gophermods in the IDS Center on Friday and went in with a knotty computer software/email issue that had been plaguing me off and on for a good number of months. First visit, the guy said I should come back on Monday as he was a hardware/device guy and the person in the store on Monday would be more effective in dealing with the kind of problem I had. The result on Monday with Chris was outstanding. Solved a difficult issue, spent a lot of time on it, was patient and clear in explaining and helping me. Answered questions and made recommendations and most important corrected the problem. Great service, very nice people, and didn't make me feel like a computer illiterate, which I am. Most important. The problem has been fixed. I am very grateful and impressed. read more

iPhone went in the bath - blacked out. I tried the rice method but still black so I sent it to Gophermods who brought it back to life. I was a little dubious, since I had heard that wet phones are irretrievable, but it wasn't a big expense to try them out so I sent my phone to them. It took a few days for the phone in transit, but I was called by a guy on the team, asked what happened, and he said he will try and fix it. By the end of the day he called back and said it just needed a little new part to fix the camera that was busted. So $100 later I had my great iPhone back to normal, AND all of my data was saved. It is a life saver to have Gophermods. I couldn't find any other company that does this, so thank you Gophermods for fixing my phone, saving my data, and not costing me too much in the process. read more

I have an iPhone, and after work one day I dropped it getting into my car...and cracked the screen. I didn't have warranty on my phone and I knew I couldn't afford to get a brand new one, and I definitely didn't want to go back to my old phone. I talked to one of my co-workers and he told me about gophermods. One of the best referrals I have ever received. I walked in, great customer service, and was told by the man that my phone would take about 40 mins and would cost 50. It ended up taking only 25 mins which was fantastic because I was in a rush, and it came out just like it was brand new. I recommend anyone in the area to stop by if they have a phone problem instead of going directly going to the dealer. It's fast and cost effective. read more

Brought in my water damaged phone (let's not talk about what type of water damage) and Gophermods, specifically Ben, was super professional and explained all of the details/pricing related to any water damage repairs. He even said that if they couldn't repair the phone there would be no charge. I dropped it off around noon on a Friday and at 4:00 Ben emailed me and said my phone was fixed!! He did a fantastic job and saved me a ton of cash too. They also fixed my WiFi problem which, when I talked to an Apple store tech, he told me I would need a new phone. He broke my soul that day and Ben came in and repaired it and my phone!! I couldn't be more pleased with their services and would highly recommend them. read more

I had an old PS3 that had the YLOD and couldn't afford the $200-300 bucks for another one and then I found Gophermods. One week and $129 later (including some upgrades) and I've got a great system back, with the game stuck inside ready to play. I sent an preliminary email with a few questions about the upgrades and life of the system, post-repair, and I got quick response with honest answers, no BS, and a convo over multiple emails. I got regular shipping and repair updates without any effort on my part. I also really appreciated the start-up troubleshooting guide that came with it. It alleviated what would've been some frustration on my part, for sure. Great Job! read more

My son jammed the disc tray of his X-Box. My initial thought was to replace the console but I decided to surf the internet to see if I could find a place that could repair it. I was a bit leery at first because I had never heard of Gophermods. I read the Reviews and most of them were positive so I decided to give them a try. I am really glad that I did. I paid the fees via PayPal and shipped the package to them, following their directions. The X-Box was shipped back to me last week with the 1 year guarantee and my son has had NO problems with it at all! I would recommend them to anyone asking! Thank you Gophermods!!! I am truly happy with the results. read more

This place is great, especially if you are like me and have a hard time keeping your phone in decent working order. I arrived at Gophermods' Minneapolis location at 4:30 on a Saturday with a broken phone (cracked screen). Amazingly, the technician offered to stay beyond the 5 o'clock closing time to finish the job for me, same day service. The staff was super courteous and helpful in explaining the process of replacing the phone screen and the materials needed to do so. I have since recommended Gophermods to friends and family based on the fantastic service I received. The service took about an hour and the price was very reasonable. read more

I have gone to the Mpls store 3 times. They are the BEST!!! They are always courteous, professional HIGHLY skilled and fair in their pricing and they have the BEST customer service I have observed in DECADES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Today CHristian was Great!!! He went far above where he had to go. He was so patient and helpful to a novice like me. Addison his manager should also be complimented for his willingness to have Christian help me! I consider Gophermods to be oneof the VERY BEST places I have shopped in my many years of shopping in the Twin Cities. They would get 10 on a scale of 1-10 (lowest-highest)!!!!!! Jim L. read more

I took my iPhone 5s to the Apple Valley store. Casey O'Connor helped me. I had dropped the phone the day before and while the screen wasn't cracked, the phone would not turn on and it heated up when charging. Initially he didn't give me much hope and said that it would take 2 hours to diagnose the problem. I say big $$ for a 4 year old phone, but I went ahead anyway. Upon my return, Casey told me that the LCD wire had come detached and he hooked it up. I asked the price and he said no charge for the service. THAT is great customer service! I will refer others to him and that particular branch. Thanks Casey! read more

Recently my son broke the tray on his x-box 360 and didn't want to buy him a new one. Looking on-line I found Gophermods and read a few reviews, which most seemed happy with their service, except one in shipping his product back to him. So I tried them, they're site was easy to navigate and to make payments through. I sent the package and had it returned in about 10 days fixed and working well! During that time they kept me posted on everything. I will definitely be recommending this company to others, just to see the smile on my sons' face when we received it was priceless! Great job Gophermods! Thanks. read more

I cracked my iPhone screen for the first time ever this past week and was super bummed but I knew who to call right away! I talked to Ben over there and had a million questions answered. He was professional and friendly. He assured me that Miguel would help me when I went in. I just got my phone back and it's all repaired. It barely took any time at all and Miguel did a great job! They even put on Friends on tv for me while I waited for that short period of time. Miguel went through my phone with me to make sure everything was in good working order before I left. I would definitely recommend this place! read more

Over the past several years, we've had 4 smartphones serviced at GopherMods, all with excellent results. About 2 years ago they replaced the batteries (on 2-year old iPhones) and their performance went back to long life, and they just did the same in August & October with our now 2-year old replacements. And in one particular situation, they fairly diagnosed and repaired a problem with my headphones port perfectly for a modest price ($39), while Apple had told me I had to get a replacement phone (granted, it was a 2 1/2 year old iPhone not on AppleCare, but still!) Excellent professional company. read more

My one month old I-Phone 6 fell off the arm of my favorite chair and hit the floor and needless to say the screen shattered. I have insurance , but the cost for sending in the phone is $200.00 even with insurance. It was recommended to try Gophermod by a friend. I called and they said bring it in and we can repair it. They replaced the screen for less than it was to send it in and I still have the same phone without having to reload the entire thing with pictures, contacts, music. I dropped it off and picked it up 1hr later. Awesome and friendly service without the pain and hassle. read more
