Working with Rob at Goosefish Press for our wedding invitations was one of the best decisions we made throughout our entire wedding planning process. After tiredly looking online for the perfect invitations on sites like minted.com I realized it was not going to cut it for what I needed. I emailed Rob and within an hour he had responded back. My husband and I went to his studio in the South End and looked over designs he did and knew we wanted to work with him. Throughout the creative process, Rob was extremely responsive and was able to completely customize our invitation, information card, and rsvp card to exactly what we wanted. If I wanted the letters in a word capitalized, or spacing of a graphic changed, he would send the edit quickly for us to view. When we got our invitations off the press, we were so happy. The letter press invitations were absolutely beautiful and elegant. We received so many compliments on them after sending them out. The price was very reasonable and worth every penny. The entire process from when we emailed him to when we picked up the invitations took 6 1/2 weeks. Absolutely, hands down my favorite vendor that we worked with. I can not rave enough about Goosefish and Rob's work. Like... he's really, really ridiculously good. Planning a wedding is stressful. Like, really, really stressful. Rob helped ease the stress and talked us through each step of the process. He helped us with our Save the Dates, invitations, and all the signing (table numbers, name cards, programs, cocktail signs, etc), which made everything super cohesive. He was always incrediblely responsive (usually replied within a few hours!!!), and was so creative, and was always kind even when we sent 500 obnoxnious emails switching up the design. We had so many compliments on the letterpress and design work, and honestly, our stuff was absolutely awesome. I can't help but brag about it, because everything turned out soooooo good. As others have mentioned, you get to keep the plates that the invitations are made from, which make a really cool memento. Wow If you are planning a wedding, here is a warning: it is extremely difficult to find competent vendors. GO TO GOOSEFISH, and you will be happy to know your invitations will be the one thing that goes well. What is letterpress? I didn't know before Goosefish. Out of all the weddings my fiancee and I have been to, we have never seen a "letter pressed" invitation. It is truly something unique that our guests loved and will be a keepsake forever. Honestly, we got as many complements about our invitations as anything else we did for our wedding. Rob (the owner, designer, and printer) loves what he does, and it shows in his work. He has great ideas for designing invitations, and worked with us through every idea that we had and made our ideas come out even better. Rob is so easy to work with, and provides excellent service. Go see Goosefish Press in the Sowa shopping area. You can browse many items you can buy in his store - in fact, I have bought many birthday, anniversary, and other types of cards from him. He also has a lot of his custom made invitations on display. And the cherry on top, is that you can even have the plates that the invitations were made from. We wanted something personal and that would set the tone for the rest of our wedding theme and the invites we got from Goosefish did exactly that. Its simply beautiful stuff. The quality of his work is outstanding and his service was fantastic. His response time over email was always lightning fast and he was flexible with our requests and minor edits. Rob worked with us to create a custom design featuring a hand drawing of our wedding venue. He was patient through all of my various questions and tweaks and even overnighted three different pink choices to us so that we could choose the one we liked best! He is extremely responsive and is a pleasure to work with! Goosefish is also a fantastic value. We were able to get all the upgrades we wanted (two color letterpress/double ply paper etc) and the total cost was still almost half of some other letterpresses we looked at! We had such a great experience working with Rob at Goosefish Press for our wedding this July. My husband and I had really been torn over whether we wanted to just order invitations online or work with a designer, and even though it cost more to go with Goosefish Press, we thought it was well worth the money. Rob will work with you to create a design you're happy with, and he's so efficient and on top of things. He was also great on email which I found to be very helpful. For us though, one of the best things about going with Goosefish Press is that any other materials you might need for a wedding (programs, menus, seating chart, etc.) can also be designed by them so that everything can match and look cohesive. In short, amazing! We hired Rob to do our wedding invitations and response cards. He was awesome throughout the design process and very responsive via email and on the phone. The sample arrived quickly and the quality was outstanding. The full invitation set arrived quickly as well and looked phenomenal. We even got to keep the letter press boards it was printed with - we're planning on turning it into a keepsake for our parents. We took Rob up on his offer of design help and he helped us design out photobooth logo and all the signage for our food. Tying everything together with one image (an image that Rob had to create basically from scratch) really made our wedding cohesive. For the exceptional level of service, you'd expect to pay a lot of money, but surprisingly Goosefish Press' rates were only slightly more than ordering basic cardstock, especially when you factor in that his envelopes come pre-printed with a return address.
