You need local knowledge to stay away from all the trouble and potholes that I fell into anyway our group of 40 golfers had a great time and we're gonna come back. I was so surprised that the rates were so low under $40 for 18 holes with a golf cart on Tuesday, I could not believe it.

At least the bare trees allow views of the surrounding lake which are mostly obscured in the summer. Starting in 2022 the Bear Trace courses are now collecting sales tax on greens fees which results in a price increase of almost 10% over the previous rates.

The Keep has no grass and takes 5 hours to get around. The other course is gimmick golf and took 6 + hours. No rangers to speak things up. Staff are either quite nice or absolutely checked out. Service and communication are terrible. One guy in the group bought a shirt, realized it was the wrong size and refused to let him exchange. Take your money elsewhere. Any positive review must simply not know what else is available in the marketplace.

So fortunate to participate in a 'shamble' scramble here yesterday. The weather was absolutely dialed in, and everything was seamless from registration (great swag thanks to Blue Creek) to the post scramble meal, to the pro shop where you redeem your prizes (yeah, I um, scored the "ladies longest drive" prize - shameless plug). Turns out the pro shop has everything you'd want clothing wise, from onesies for babies to children's golf clothes to cigars and a good array of selections for men, but, nothing cute and frilly for me. As I was feeling deflated, the pro offered up a catalog to me, and I scored two adorable pink golf shirts that he will have custom embroidered with their logo for me! Nice touch! I had never played golf using carts that stop automatically, meaning you do not have to squash in the brake to lock the cart in place, until yesterday at the Ledges. This is an excellent feature for this course because it is literally like a roller coaster in twists and turns! At any angle, when you put your foot on the brake, the cart stops and stays put. Each hole is named (e.g., Old Stoney, The Pedestal, False Hope (featuring an unseen water hazard), Hawks Haven (yes, there are hawks up there!), Temptation). The greens are crazy fun because you get so many crazy "toilet bowl" rolls, and some putts actually appear to roll uphill! Only regret was not enjoying the driving range prior to the scramble. They take a supersized golf cart way down in the valley to an absolutely lovely driving range. Our group was too happy socializing to take advantage of a proper warm up in the awesome driving range Had we done this, maybe my twosome would have scored better than next to last, ha ha! Individuals may want to call them for updates and recommendations on dining options. However, the venue has a rather nice pavilion that overlooks the course for people who care to bring their own plates. I also noticed the course is tucked behind a neighborhood, so at first, you may feel as though you are driving the wrong way. But just a brief, straight course and you'll find yourself at the course! I like how they are open at night with the lights with my work schedule I can head out there at night. The prices to me seem about right in which someone might say otherwise but $11 for 100 balls to me is not a bad gig at all. The putting areas and pitching areas are fun as well. Someone told me the food there is good but I haven't tried it yet so maybe next time.

It's a 9 hole course but uses two sets of tee boxes to allow for an 18 hole experience. It's not a flat course and the greens have a fair amount of undulation. Several holes have stunning back drops of the surrounding mountain and valleys. They do have one problem, they have not trained the deer to rake the fairway bunkers yet but they said they'd work on that.
