The other is the intermittent noise from planes taking off and landing in adjacent Santa Monica Airport (which thankfully is closing in coming years.) unfortunately there aren't many food options nearby so you have to bring your own. When bigger kids were running up and down the steps I was really nervous he was going to fall. We were there in the early mid-morning and listened to a talk about the watershed preservation. I was impressed with how clean everything was and most especially the restroom. They were super clean, well maintained, and well lit. Me and my daughter felt safe. I was surprised to note that when we returned later in the day that there is an attendant available to answer questions or provide support. This place is a winner in my book.

We came here for the Splash pad and Park area as well. The park is so big you can have picnics, play in the splash pad that's very well maintained and organized as well. The kids had so much fun here and you can feel free to bring your own buckets and toys to fill up water and play as well. Such a neat spot and can't wait to be back cause this summer is going to be hot. There is a lot of Shade under tree's to hang with friends or have a picnic the options are endless. Their bathrooms were well maintained and the ones by the splash pad were at times wet because people are changing but they are spacious and there is also a changing station for babies as well. The grass is very well-kept, green, and (compared to other parks I've been in where there's random holes, dips etc) this grass area was flat and great. I even saw a man walk barefoot with his slippers in his hand!! It goes to show the cleanliness of the park and there was a great amount of people here, I felt a strong sense of community in the area. The basketball courts look clean and lots of people were playing. I would definitely love to go here to play ball!! It's right next to the public library as well and there's a good amount of benches to lounge on. My doggie and I enjoyed relaxing on our blanket on the grass and enjoy the fresh air outside. Not that easy to get to unless you live in Brentwood --as you wind your way up the hills north of Sunset to find it. He is a small but mighty park in that while you see other people around, you never feel like it's crowded. There is a fountain in the center with small plaques near the encircling benches that detail some of the history of the area. For parking, I suggest checking out Canon Dr. or Beverly Blvd. There is too much traffic on the Sunset Blvd. side for me to feel comfortable trying to maneuver to find parking. Canon Dr. offers 2 hour street parking that is unmetered and a quick walk across the street. Make sure to add this to your list of future picnic spots.

The paved paths are mostly smooth except where the earth is settling or where the brown squirrels have dug out the ground near the railings that overlook to the beach. There are plenty of food vendors to buy a lunch and enjoy a picnic. There is paid parking lots and bicycle parking as well. There are bathrooms that a secured by an attendant at the entrance. Palisades Park is a long linear park that stretches over twenty-six acres along Ocean Avenue. I love the view of the beach from here. There are picnic areas, benches, restrooms and monuments throughout the park. It is a nice park to take a stroll and enjoy the cool breeze from the ocean. Some things to check out while in the park are the Santa Monica Camera Obscura and some civil war canons near the iconic Santa Monica Pier entrance sign.

We found ourselves in taking a shortcut through the park on our way to coffee and snacks close by. Plenty of shade and plenty of room to enjoy this stretch of greenery in the Marina del Rey area. Admiralty Park also knows as the Yvonne B Burke Park is about 8 acres long with paid parking lot and a few park benches scattered about. Good views of the Marina just across the street as well as the local area with restaurants, residences, fire station, spots and attractions.
