Anyone in the Westchester area can find a very good mechanic shop near the old Kroger on 747. Very…read moregood service on my vehicles. I've seen some extensive work on some cars. I get the basic oil change done. I got a tire rotation and a tire balance for better price than the other shops nearby. I get very good service every time I go. Call Nate!

I have had many repairs done on multiple vehicles at Bishop's and they seemed to be fair and…read morehelpful. I have even referred friends and family to them. Now after almost a year of dealing with them I look back and realize that they are just like any other repair shop. Let me say, that I myself have extensive repair and diagnostic experience but because I am getting up in age, it's not so easy to do automotive repairs and I choose to seek out shops for things I rather not do myself. I just took one of my many vehicles in a couple of days ago and told them exactly what was wrong and what had to be repaired. In the past they were quick to respond with a written quote for me to approve, usually a couple of hours, but this time it took them a few days. After I had called twice in three days, inquiring about the status, I finally received a quote that was in the thousands. So, I informed them I was not interested in having them perform the repairs and that I would send a tow truck to pick up the vehicle. At which time, I was sent a bill for $197 for diagnostic labor. Can you remember the days of free estimates? Now remember, I told them what was wrong and what parts that needed to be replaced. Not only that, but it was also clearly visible, in an instance, what the damage was and what had to be replaced. I will also say that I had to have previous repairs to other vehicles redone. I could go on further with other instances but the needle that broke this camel's back is the latest incident where they quoted just under $3000. No options or suggestions. I know where that price comes from, (genuine parts at retail prices, but I'm sure they were not going to put the $1800 worth of genuine GM parts but rather lesser grade aftermarket parts that are significantly less expensive. That is known as the "I don't want to do it" price. I would have accepted paying $600-$700 to not to have bothered with doing it myself. I just wanted to let people know to be aware of this wolf in sheep's clothing. I will not be doing business there again nor will I refer anyone else. By the way, I just finished the repairs myself in 3 hours and the parts cost me $180. I lost a day of work and suffered the typical cuts, bruises and abrasions of being a repair tech but better than having to sell my youngest daughter for car repairs. So, in total, it cost me $580 with the loss of a day's work and the price of the parts. The thing that bothered me the most and the reason I composed this review is the $197 diagnostic fee. Where is the compassion during these times when the cost of everything is going higher in leaps and bounds except our pay rate to be able to afford these rising prices.
