I cannot express my appreciation enough for the guys at this store. Robbie has gone above and beyond to help me while I've been out of the state. This is my normal store but since I have been traveling, I took my car for an oil change in D.C. at some local place and they came up with $1700 in repairs that I "Needed done"! I called Robbie and he called the Goodyear store close to me and requested they check it out, called me right back and gave me all the info I needed to get this done. Took my car in, they brought my info up on the computer (since they are all connected) then they checked for the "noted problems " and even let me look. Guess what?, Not a problem -however, something that was not mentioned in the estimate was a problem and could be expensive if not taken care of. A clamp to my antifreeze hose was loose, and dripping!! (I could even see that! ) This Goodyear store tightened it and they never charged me a cent for any of their service to check this out. I had service appointment at goodyear on Topeka Blvd. While waiting for my vehicle to be completed another customer entered into the shop and was taken care of before me even though my vehicle was already up on the rack. They were told to finish that individuals vehicle before mine. That is not good customer service quality of service at that location needs to be evaluated and corrected. I giess if your a paying customer and not a paid customer you have more privileges than the paid Customer. On top of that the service done didnt even correct the problem! These guys always take good care of our vehicles. We take them in for PM checks, oil changes, tire needs, etc. and they are upfront, no nonsense, and highly professional. Sure, it takes a while to get the services done because they're short staffed, but who isn't short staffed these days? I've referred these guys to several friends and coworkers and they all feel the same that for how much everything costs these days, Goodyear at 21st and Fairlawn never disappoints. read more

I drive an older ford and she requires a lot of maintenance. The guys here are really nice and they try their best to work with your needs. I have been coming here for 2 years and have gotten to know them all by name. My main mechanic who has spent the most on my vehicle is Robert. For a few years now, my car would mysteriously shut off on me while parked in idle. Whatever Robert did fixed it and I am grateful. Two thumbs up to Julian; he's the parts genius. read more

I really wish I could give this store better reviews, but I just can't. Issue 1) About 6 mos ago I scheduled an appt for an oil change. THREE HOURS later, my car was still not ready. I was livid and they eventually gave me a small discount. Issue 2) My husband went in for an oil change and tire check. He was told there was something broken in our back driver axle that was causing the bulging on our tire. After taking it to a mechanic, we found out that was completely false information and there was NOTHING wrong with the car, just a bad tire. Issue 3) Because that tire was bad (we purchased those tires less than two years ago and just over half the mileage warranty has been used - not their fault), we went back one last time. We were quoted three prices for various new tires - all the quotes were more than I had paid for the tires in the first place (what kind of warranty is that?) AND I was being told I had to pay for the installation etc even though it was not my fault I was having to have tires installed AGAIN. They agreed to split the install fee with me so I took off work for the appt. After an hour and a half standing at the counter trying to figure out the warranty, I was told the tires I wanted weren't in stock anymore and the next option was more than $180 more than I was originally quoted. If I wanted to "just come back tomorrow" they could get me "fixed up" with my more expensive tires that I shouldn't have been replacing in the first place. At this point I was DONE - the air conditioning hadn't been working in there for over a month, it was smoking hot, we'd been through multiple scenarios that never resulted in available tires, the service manager was kind, but I left and took my business elsewhere. The other company got me in the next day - the appointment time was more convenient, they had my tires in stock, their service was significantly faster than I was quoted by the Goodyear store (1.5hrs vs 3hrs), and I didn't spend a dime more. I won't be back and neither will my family members. read more

Okay, it's nice that this place has a self-service air. But on 12/13/2018 I pulled up around 5:20pm and the sign said it was OUT-OF-ORDER. Alright, my tire is almost flat! I go inside and ask if they could air up my tire real quick. The guys said, "no, the sign says it's out-of-order." I said, "I get that, but don't you have another air compressor?" This old guy said, "yes we do, but I barley have enough air for what we need to get done." Just wow. This old guys didn't even bother to ask a worker. I also know how a air compressor works! It would of took one minute to help me out! I feel like customer service matters if people are paying larger sums of money for work done on their car. If you come into a mechanic shop and they have a bad attitude imagine the work they do on your car. read more

Had an oil change appointment scheduled at 3pm. Got there 15 minutes early. Sat there for an hour. Car hadn't been touched. Waited for another hour. Still nothing, so I kindly Asked for keys and left. I understand that an oil change isn't top priority as far as finances for the shop are concerned but I had an appointment. I brought my car in for a tire replacement and it took 5 hours for do a 30 minute job. They didn't get the vehicle in the shop for most of that time, and they were putting other vehicles in the shop before mine, even though it was scheduled. read more

This is the 2nd time in a row I've taken my vehicle to Goodyear on Croix and both times I left their facility after paying for work and having the same issues. The first time with a heater core problem that they didn't fix, and the 2nd with a broken flex plate. Both times they told me the issues were fixed. Now, they did work with me on the cost, which I appreciate, but I have no faith in their mechanical abilities and will no longer take my vehicles there. read more

Lifesavers! I woke up yesterday to find I had a flat tire. When I called Goodyear, Robbie said that they were swamped but that if I could drop it off, they would fix it in between other jobs. It was a major struggle getting the spare out of its storage compartment and on the vehicle (thank you, Hyundai), but the guys in the shop made the rest of my day a breeze. Not only did they fix the flat AND put it back on for me, but because my tires were one of their supported brands, they didn't even charge me. Not a cent. This was my first trip to this shop, but I will definitely be back when I'm ready for new tires! read more

I've always changed my own oil, but I figured it would be a lot quicker to take it to Goodyear to get it changed. 3 hours later my car was finished. After driving it for a few days, I noticed my cars engine was smoking badly. I took it back to Goodyear, and they told me "it wasn't their fault" and did nothing to help me out. Save yourself the hassle and take your car elsewhere, it's not that hard to fully tighten an oil filter Goodyear. read more

Recently travelling across country form WA to FL with my daughter I landed in Topeka late one Friday evening with an overheating car. Had no choice but to get hotel and hope could find a mechanic on Sat. I ended up going to the nearest Goodyear Auto repair located at 5140 SW 21st St. I explained my emergency (not local, no appointment, travelling literally from one corner of USA to the other, due back in FL by certain time to get my younger kids to first day of school, a mom cant miss that) Jim Bernard (Store Manager) & Julian Matney (Service Manager) were able to work me in without an appt on a super busy packed day for them. Saturday is a tough day to find a mechanic who will fit you in. I called other places and was told by other companies that they couldn't get me in until 4 days later! Jim & Julian were our guardian angels that day! I truly cant express my gratitude for their patience and understanding. They were amazing and had us back on the road within a couple hours. Have been going to this Goodyear Service Center for years. In the past their service was mediocre at best. Generally polite and but slow and I questioned if I was being gouged with unnecessary repairs. Today was last time I go there. Stopped with almost flat tire to have repaired or patched. It is freezing cold (10 F) outside and Sunday at noon. When asked if I could get help I was dismissed by guy at service desk with a smirk and told it would be a day or two. Explained that I was in a bind but the manager stepped in and indicated in spite of the fact that I have spent over $4,000 at his shop in last 5 yrs he could not help. Seems to me they could have at least been polite and not so disinterested and rude. I can buy tires anywhere but it is the service that makes a "service center" worth frequenting. A TIRE SERVICE CENTER that is so disinterested in simple repair should not be trusted with tire installation. Items that may save your life on the road. Never will spend another dime with them nor do I recommend them. BTW, this is my first online review, ever. I hope this helps other consumers from making a bad choice of tire service centers. Update-Another shop nearby fixed my flat in no time for $14.95....with a smile. I would recommend Washburn Auto Service Center to anyone! read more
