They could have lied (like most places do) and charged me a lot. But they didn't. They did a few other repairs and my car hasn't run this great in years. This definitely put a dent in my pockets and day but I didn't waste no time replacing my tire. Unfortunately, even though I got a new tire I still needed the rim repaired which I've procrastinated since then. I did my research trying to locate a rim repair shop and found a lot but never had time to go plus it definitely wasn't cheap as I compared pricing. This past Sunday, I happened to be in the area of one of the places I found in DC and decided to go get an estimate for a future repair. I will say this place is in a not so safe area if you're not use to being out here but no worries you should be fine just come when it's sunny out unless you're a DC native. Don't let the outside steer you away because this is definitely worth getting tires, repairs, etc. I met one of the repair guys named Louis who gave me an estimate and said he could do all my tires in an hour. I was hesitant at first because I wasn't prepared to do this that day but the price and timing was in my favor so I said why not. Louis kept me informed about what was being done as well as showing me his progress. He answered all my questions and made sure I was pleased with his work. This shop is definitely busy and those men work extremely hard and waste no time. For a Sunday, they stayed open later than I expected and I'm grateful for it. I'm blessed to be able to find this place and get such an amazing result for a great price. I have a 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe that wasn't too doing well in the scorching summer heat and sure enough, one day the battery dies. I gave it a quick jump, rode it around the block a few times, no problems. The next day? Dead again! Argh! I was able to get it towed using AAA and decided on Meineke. I am so glad I did. From the moment I picked up the phone and called their office, to the moment I picked up the keys and drove my car off the lot, Chris' friendly attitude kept me at ease. He took the car in, listened to my concerns, ran a diagnostic test to figure out the problem, worked on it right away and confirmed that the battery needed to be replaced. He also made sure to call and update me. I was so relieved; the service came just under $300 for a new battery, 2-year warranty, and service. Wow! Ready that same day. I'm really happy to know that my car is running smooth again, all thanks to Meineke. Thank you for the great service.

I've had to inspect two cars in Maryland during my time living here and this experience was the worst. They don't value your time and the cost of simple repairs are ridiculous. The initial inspection was fine. They found two cosmetic issues with the car that I had to be fixed. Both on the exterior of the car. One, for example, was the rear wiper blade. So the car fails, which is understandable. If your vehicle happens to fail, please do your research and compare cost for ANY fixes. For example, my back windshield wiper failed because it "smudges a little". I found that debatable however I didn't push on the issue. They told me to replace it they would have to (1) order the part which would take a day or two to arrive, and (2) the cost was $25+. I found that same wiper blade at the local AutoZone for $12 right after I left. And for anyone with the front two windows tinted on their vehicle, for window tint removal, they charge $150 which is absurd and overpriced. As for respecting customers time, they do not. I called on Monday to verify that the inspector would be available on Tuesday morning to reinspect my vehicle. I was told he would be in and that my appointment would be at 8AM when they open. I arrive at 7:55 AM and check in for my appointment. Do you know that I sat in the waiting room for 40 minutes before they decided to tell me that the inspector would not be coming to work that day? I wasted 40 minutes of my time when I could have left and rescheduled. The reinspection was rescheduled for the following day, again at 8 AM. This time I called the front desk before arriving to ensure that the inspector was indeed at work. Not surprised, I was told the inspector was "on his way to work" and that he " lived very far." I digress... To reinspect two cosmetic changes on my car, I sat in the waiting room for over an hour. I had to go to the front desk to ask for status of my car before they finished 15 minutes later. I am thankful that my car successfully inspected. However, I would not return to this location.

I appreciate the honest advice and information that Christine provided, she helped me make a couple of decisions about the work to be completed to the car. The shop was able to order the parts I needed and install them within 2 days - appreciate the pretty quick service. My first experience was good…read more During the last week of April they replaced the starter on my 2021 Kia Telluride, and everything seemed fine at the time. However, when I picked the vehicle up, I noticed an issue with my parking sensor that had never happened prior to the service. I made another appointment to have that checked out along with several other issues I already knew needed attention -- a wheel bearing, a check engine light, and a transmission issue. I dropped the car off on Sunday, May 17th. They called me Monday and explained that the parking sensor issue was unrelated to the starter replacement, which I accepted. They also said the transmission issue would need to be handled by the dealership. The check engine light turned out to be caused by the evap vent valve being disconnected from the evap canister, and they reconnected it. Total cost was $160. I stopped by a little after 3 PM to pay and pick up the keys, but told them I would return later that evening to actually take the vehicle home. When I came back at 9:55 PM, the first thing I noticed was that the vehicle was unlocked because the mirrors were folded out. On my Telluride, the mirrors automatically fold in when the car is locked. When I opened the door, the dashboard was lit up and the radio was on. Once I sat down, I realized the vehicle was actually still running. My car's drive information automatically resets if the vehicle has been off for four hours. The dash showed the vehicle had been running for 9 hours and 30 minutes, had been driven 16.7 miles, and was averaging 4.5 MPG. I took a picture at 9:58 PM. Honestly, I wasn't even angry at first -- I was more shocked than anything and was actually laughing about it when I told my wife. Mistakes happen. The problem came the next morning when I returned to let them know what happened and showed them the picture. Instead of acknowledging the mistake, they immediately denied it and insisted there must have been some kind of malfunction because they "could not have made that mistake." I initially spoke with the two women behind the counter, but then a man came out from the office and asked what I wanted. I told him I felt they should at least refund the $160 service charge or compensate me for the gas burned while my car sat idling all day. He refused both. We went back and forth for several minutes. I explained that up until that moment I had actually been happy with their service and thought I had found a repair shop I could continue using. I told him the issue wasn't the mistake itself -- it was the refusal to take responsibility for it. I also explained that if he had simply apologized and made some effort to make it right, I probably would have laughed about it later and continued bringing my vehicle there. Instead, I was treated as if I was making the whole thing up despite having photographic evidence. When I told him that my only remaining option was to leave an honest review online about my experience, he accused me of threatening him. I told him it wasn't a threat -- I simply intended to describe exactly what happened. To make matters even more frustrating, when I later attempted to leave a review on their website, I was required to enter my invoice number, last name, first name, invoice total, and service date to verify my visit. After entering all of the correct information directly from my invoice, I received an error message saying the information did not match their system records. I can't say for certain what caused that, but it certainly gave the impression that I was being prevented from leaving a review through their website. Again, mistakes happen. What matters is how a business responds when they do. Unfortunately, their response completely changed my opinion of this shop.

My vehicle was serviced TWICE within a ten-day period, incurring charges totaling $1,272.06…read more Unfortunately, I was forced to return two days later on June 25th after my check engine light returned. At this time (June 25th), I was informed that my engine was no longer viable--a fact that was not disclosed to me during either visit, despite extensive diagnostics and repairs. On June 13, I was charged $875.64 for a range of services including ignition coil replacement, synthetic oil change, and tire rotation. Then, on June 23, I returned due to continued issues and was charged an additional $396.42 for a valve cover gasket replacement, which would supposedly address the engine issue. The technician noted oil in the spark plugs and a leak from the valve cover gasket, yet failed to inform me that these symptoms likely indicated a more serious engine failure. Had I been properly informed of the engine's condition during the first visit--or even the second--I would not have authorized further repairs. The lack of transparency and failure to diagnose the core issue resulted in unnecessary expenses and lost time. Save your time and money and choose a different mechanic. I am utterly disappointed after patronizing this shop for the last two years. Do better.
