Very disappointed in the misinformation I was given as well as the notes left on my ticket that I saw upon pick up. I was not told the starter I agreed to have them install would be without warranty. Also the technician made mention of an issue with a fly wheel and when I look at my paperwork it states the customer stated this and that is a flat out lie. The technician and the service manager are not here at pickup and the gentlemen checking me out doesn't have any information and is apologizing as there were no notes left. Months ago I came here thinking I found a reputable and honest place to have my vehicle repaired and today I see otherwise and I am highly disappointed in that. Just earlier this week I had an oil change and requested that my tires be rotated as these are the tires I purchased brand new from Good Year. I took a picture at drop of and when I picked it up it was clear that my tires were not rotated and the woman said that they were, I also attempted to address this today but was brushed off. I will start with the tires were installed properly, no complaint there. First issue-My promised time was 2:30p, it was done after 4... Second issue- i handed the keys, asked if I need to pay, salesman said, no, we will take care later, ( I did have a coupon he took from me at that time), i arrive back at 2:30 to pick it up, he says it won't be done until 4:30, I said no problem, asked again about payment, he said, nope, we will get it at pick up....I figure ok, I had my print out showing the numbers, I arrive at 4:30, car was done, work was correct, price was almost $200 more than expected!....he said the added discounts would not work with the coupon, i said " not cool" his response was, I can take the tires off and reinstall your old ones if your unhappy with the price!...i responded with don't be an ass, I'm not going to have you remove the tires. I left in a heated manner, i did slam the door as I left, he came out, told me not to slam the door, I told him I recommend that he takes care of payments before the work, so the customer is not surprised with a huge price difference. I've been a discount tire customer for years, and this was my first interaction with Goodyear.....wow. ( management, if you read this, make it a policy to handle payment before installation, so as to not have these issues in the future, this guy was fine to deal with up to the $$ transaction, telling me he can remove the tires if I wasn't happy set me off. read more

These folks are dishonest. Brought my wife's car in for ultimate oil change with fuel treatment. Had $20 coupon to make same cost as the level down oil change. They charged me for level down oil change with no money off and I was to take the managers word the fuel treatment was done. They always do shady stuff like that at this location. It isn't on the invoice and I could tell he was being dishonest. Oh yeah, did I mention I dropped the car off at 9:30 and was told around 1:00pm eta. I called at 2:30 and was guaranteed would be done by 3:30. I get there and wait 20 mins and still not done. I'm supposed to take this mans word they did a fuel system treatment on my car that's not invoiced on a day they are so busy they can't keep up with the work that is on the invoice. GTFOH. Took my 2007 Kia Sorento in for 4 new tires (60,000 mile) and 2 rear shocks. Out the door for just under $1,000. Got lucky and also got $120 in rebates. Firestone down the street was approx $100 more with slightly inferior tires. They said I also needed rear brakes, but I declined and did them myself. Sure enough my rear pads were shot. Everytime I go to this location it just gets worse and worse. This last time has put me over the edge and I will never be returning. They said I had a nail in one of my tires and they could not patch it. They tried telling me I needed all new tires since I have an AWD vehicle. I declined and said just do the oil change. I have been contemplating on litigation but felt a public review would protect consumers from the possible damage and danger I've experienced. I'm a single mom working full time there for I'm not in a position to go to court. Please DO NOT use this GoodYear in Ft. Mill. This post is to protect other consumers. Recently, I purchased 2 new tires which lead me back to Goodyear for knocking noise along with vibration at 45 mpg. They told me it was a bad wheel bearing that would cost me $375 to fix. I decided to take it to Mazda dealership since I didn't trust them. ***Reason I didn't trust them anymore was due to a previous issue with them when they fixed my passenger window motor but fried my stereo display screen as a result of them jump starting my car battery after it went dead while fixing the window motor. I had to buy a new after market stereo that cost $900 since Mazda said the manufacturer stereo could not be fixed. Back to Mazda evaluating the bad wheel bearing. They told me it was loose lug-nuts and the wheel was not securely fastened. I told them I just had 2 new tires installed and took it back to GoodYear about the noise which they tried to get me to pay another $400 repair for bad wheel bearing . I'm never going back to this location and will be sharing my story so others don't get terrible service. read more

I've used this location for my 2006 Chevy Cobalt and my wife's 2012 Honda Civic. Friendly, knowledgeable staff who give you options; versus a lot of mechanics shops telling you something is absolutely necessary when it could actually wait a few weeks or months before whatever it is becomes required. I'd previously taken my cars to dealerships for service, but will use this Goodyear location for the foreseeable future. I pulled in without an appointment at 0800 with a tire malfunction light on. The service manager asked a few questions and had me immediately pull up to a service bay where a technician promptly checked pressure on all four tires. I had over pressurized the suspect tire the night before. He balanced the pressure in all four tires AND answered my questions about how the tire sensors worked. Very professional and friendly. I have used this location for a while and have not always been pleased but always seem to go back for another round. This event took me over the edge. The day before my daughter went to college, the airconditioner decided to stop cooling. I dropped off at Goodyear in Fort Mill, SC around noon. I also got an oil change and power sterring belt replaced.. I was called that after noon to be quoted a $1400 air condiitoning compressor. They would not recharge freon and I did not want to replace at that time. I had picked up at 6:45, 15 min before closing. I immediately drove to Auto Zone, Fort Mill, SC (very helpful). When they went to add freon, my belt was missing from my air conditioner compressor. I called Goodyear from the lot at 6:55 and informed them the belt was not put back after replacing other belt. The next series of events blow my mind. After informing of the belt missing, the manager said..."sorry, that mechanic has left for the day and we have dont have his phone number, what time time do you need it in the morning?" I stated 7:30. Her response.."o-ooo, we dont open until 7:30' After over hearing this transaction, another customer directed me to Sun City Automotive in Fort MIll, where I was greeted by the owner who stayed until 8pm to fix a leaky hose for $90 vs. $1400. This place here I don't like. The customer service is shifty. Got my oil changed there because it is close and convenient and reasonably priced. After going to Christian Brothers down the road, we got an awful report on our tires which was super concerning since they should have been good for another 35,000 miles. We've always taken such good care of them so I was looking at some serious warranty issues which would cancel our trip. Since we were going to be making a long trip I decided to call Goodyear. JB answered and spoke with me about the whole issue I was being told. He welcomed me to talk to Greg the next morning. So next morning, my husband and I went to see Greg. The gentleman walked out to our SUV and checked each tire and said each tire was absolutely fine and has only the minimal expected ware for such an amount of miles. To say I was relieved is an understatement. Greg even had another gentleman check the tires and- same report, perfectly good, safe tires. These men helping me and being honest shows their integrity and trustworthiness. They could've ran with it and tried to sell us a set of $700 tires if they wanted to but they truly just helped us! I bought a three year alignment at this place along with a set of tires so I have come back for a tire rotation and an alignment for the second time. The first time when I came to pick up my Van the hood was raised and several things were taken off the top of the engine I was not happy. Worst place ever. I have had countless issues with this place. I would happily pay more for my tires and service somewhere else than to go this place again. 2 new tires put on my 18 year old's car by them 3 months ago. Car began to shake at 70 mph...needs balancing...which should be done for free since they should have been balanced when they were put on. She takes it in to get it balanced and they tell her the lug nuts are too tight and need to be replaced for $100. We have bought two sets of tires from Billy at Goodyear. We called on a Sunday and Billy worked us in on the same day putting a full set of tires on two vehicles. I cannot express enough the quality of his customer Service skills are. I was impressed with his ability to multi-task with three different customers at one very busy time. He was the only person working the desk. His positive attitude with his expert knowledge were both recognized. After purchasing 4 new tires for our Honda Pilot we were experiencing an issue with the alignment, returning two times due to the car pulling. Billy tested the tires in a way to figure out we had two defective tires. He replaced them at no cost without any questions asked. Also, While I was there an older Lady came in with tires so worn the belts were showing on one front tire. She insisted she needed to return to store after going to a Dr appt in Rock Hill to get her tires replaced. Billy expressed how unsafe driving on her tires was. He said that if she were in an accident he wouldn't be able to live with himself. He arranged for one of his workers to drive her to RH, and pick her back up so she didn't drive with unsafe tires. I waited 1-1/2 hours and grew inpatient and asked how much longer They had my car pulled in for a long time but never did a thing on it I asked for my keys and left I think they prioritised my car below others since it wasn't a more profitable job I guess online appointments means very little for the customer read more

Can you give less then one star? I have gone here 3-4 times and this was the last straw. I have a fleet vehicle so I'm limited where to go. Do not go here bad service never have enough staff. If you call to make an appointment they will tell you ok that'll work then you'll go in and there is no appointment next bay up next technician ok but your not in the computer. Made an appointment to come in and have my turn signal light changed, as well as an oil change and air put in my tires. Asked how long it would take, 45 minutes to an hour is what they told me. I said that is fine, I HAD to leave to pick up my daughter off the school bus in an hour and 15 after the appointment so that gave them plenty of time. At appointment I reminded them I had to leave at 1:45pm and they said no problem. At 1:40pm I asked if it was ready, they said yes. Then I asked had everything been done, they said they hadn't gotten to the turn signal light and it was being delivered. Dude, that was the REASON I came in, the oil change was just convenient since I was already there. It took them until 1:55 to finally finish up, during which they told me the guy was putting the bulb in and gave me my car and at that point I had to race to pick my daughter up. On the way I noticed they had not, in fact, replaced the bulb. Also my tires were still low on air. Look, communicate. Tell me if it is going to take longer than anticipated. Tell me the part isn't there. Let me make a decision on whether I want to get my oil changed still if you don't have the supplies to do the bulb change, tell me if it might be cutting it close on time, because I would not have taken that risk had I known it was a risk. read more

I've been a customer for over 12 years but will NEVER return to Goodyear on HIghway 160 in Fort Mill, SC. Got an oil change from them (when the light appeared on the dash) yesterday. Today, the check engine light appears and the oil pressure signal lights up with "low oil pressure". Goodyear charged me $100 for a diagnostic and says the oil sensor is bad?!?!?! When I questioned the fee he said, "my tech gets paid by the job, not by the hour!" What does that have to do with ANYTHING?!?!!! Don't take your car there! Got fed up and went in after a total of a little over four hours later, thirty minutes before closing time and my car had still not been even brought in. Left my car around 12:30pm on Sunday with them for a possible flat tire and the front desk guy was not even friendly to start off. He took the car and said it will be probably 2 hours but never even called back till their close time of 5 pm, so I went to check on them to find out that the car was moved and the front desk guy was like I probably have to give your keys back, did not get a chance to work on your car. I am like at least could have told me at 2 or 3 PM, would have tried another place, no response from him. If I had not checked on he would probably have left home and I would not have had my car to go to work on Monday. read more

I had a tire losing air, so went online to confirm an appointment for Sunday afternoon at 3 (open until 5). I received email and text confirmation on the appointment, so had to take my 2 year old on the bad tire with me to get fixed. When I arrive at 2:50, the front desk gentleman asked if I called - I said no sir, here's my email and text confirmation. I was told the technician had too much work remaining - no reschedule, offer to help, offer to discount another day, etc. I assume they have too much work there apparently. My car also has an automatic reminder and will let me know it's been 5,000 miles. When I left, the sticker on the windshield indicated the next change was due in 3,000 miles. Which is correct? I guess it's my fault for going here again. I should have learned from past experiences. I took my wife's Miata in for a tire that was going flat. I had to add air about every four days. I took the car to Goodyear in Fort Mill and they assured me the tire was fine. I took their word since they are the tire guys. About four days later, the TPS light comes on and the tire is low. I took the car to Discount Tire about a mile down the road. What do you know, the tire lock tool is missing. I call Goodyear and they tell me they put it back in the car. It's not in the car and they say they don't have it but can get the locks off for $50. I think that's kind of high for something they screwed up anyway. Discount Tire fixes Goodyears mess for $40. I can't understand the total lack of customer service at this place. Like I said, it's my fault really because they've done the EXACT same thing to me on my other car. I should have learned. I wish I had the time to stand out front and warm everyone about the group of slacker or thieves working at this place but this will have to suffice. I say thieves because my wheel lock tools are always missing after a trip there. I don't know what else you'd call them. And then try to charge me for their mistake. read more

I would give these guys 0 stars if I could. They have the worst record keeping system I have ever seen. I called to ask what tires they had installed for me the last time I was there, and they had no idea. They have serviced my car for a year, and they could not tell me what size they should be (even though they previously installed them) I did my own research, called them back. I speak with a second associate for a few minutes, I ask if they have any deals for the size tire I needed. He takes about 5-10 mins looking, and finally tells me there was a special (roughly $95 a tire installed, at least he TOLD me that was the quote was installed). I jumped at the deal and booked a firm appointment for the following weekend. I come in that weekend at the appointed time (the gentleman in front of me was experiencing similar issues with their lack of record keeping, he was told he did not even have an appointment) . The man at the desk had a record of my appointment, but he had no clue why I was coming in. When I said for tires, he had to go out to my car to confirm the tire size (A point I thought the guy I had booked the appointment with should have recorded). We got back inside and he quotes me $208 a tire. Of course I pointed out that I had been quoted $95 installed. He fiddles around for a few minutes and responds "oh yeah, we have a deal, but it is not including installation and it is for $95. But we do not have those tires in stock". Of course I am kind of annoyed, because A. I made my wife and two kids get up on a Sunday morning to drive me to the shop, and B. I had a whole conversation with a gentleman that Thursday who had not bothered to record a single aspect of my conversation in my account, nor had he ordered the tires or reserved the tires that he knew I was going to purchase. What really ticked me off was the complete smug indifference with which the second gentleman treated me on that Sunday morning. When I expressed that they were a little disorganized, he pushed my key back and said he did not need my business because he had a waiting room full of people and my car was not necessary. I delivered a few choice words back to him and left. I would not trust these guys with my car. I found out a couple days later that they had installed brakes incorrectly for a neighbor of mine and had caused significant damage on this car. It took 6 hours for an oil change. I left my car and returned 5 hours later. Only when I returned did they start my working on my car. So, I sat for an hour in the unpleasant waiting area. When my car was ready, no reason for not doing my tire rotate except my tires were trashed and handed me the keys. Not sure if they even did the all point inspection. We dropped off our car at 9am and we were told it would take 1 hour for an oil change and to plug one tire. We dropped it off and figured it would be ready when would go back in an hour. At 12pm, they told us they were just taking it back. At 1pm, my car was still sitting in the same spot where I parked it at 9am. If they quote you a time, you need to at least triple the quoted time to get a better idea of how long you'll wait. To make experience worse, I was told they would perform the alignment for free. I even came in 1/2 hour earlier than my time so they could get started early. An oil change shouldn't take longer than 30-45 minutes. Mind you, I have a newer model car, so a lot of work shouldn't be involved in handling this. I got out 2 hours and 10 minutes after my appointment time. During this whole time, I had to watch people come in after me only to have their car ready before mine. Then one of the "supervisors" (I guess) tried to tell me something was wrong with the tires that I bought brand new from another reputable chain store 2 weeks ago. I will never ever return to this Goodyear on Hwy 160. My son's car had to be towed on a Saturday night to them because the towing company stated to us that they would be the only automotive shop open on a Sunday near me. Knowing this and the fact that my son had to leave to go back to college that Sunday morning for move in day, made my situation a little desperate to say the least. So the car was towed there, and I went first thing Sunday morning to explain what had happened. The manager stated that it could be a number of things, i.e. battery, alternator, other electrical parts gone bad. Working around cars during my life, I knew it was the alternator, however I asked him to check the alternator if I were to jump the car and let it run. Him and I went back and forth to the point, time was not on my side. He stated to me that he could change the battery out since it was so low on voltage (go figure) and he could check from there. I finally agree to purchase the battery.....Wow, replacing the battery took over 2 hours. Paid the fees for parts and labor (Over the top). He stated because it was located in an odd area that long. Fast forward, He said the battery was replaced and he stated that he checked and it only the battery not the alternator. Besides that fact, he stated that didn't have a mechanic on sight that day to replace the alternator if it was such that. What a sigh of relieve to hear him say that. Well that was not the case as my son started driving the car home to pack up, all the lights in the car came on again after 10 minutes of driving it. He called me and I told him to make it to Advance Auto. There the representative checked the alternator through the battery and stated, "Sir, you have a BAD Alternator". Interesting he said that because we had just replaced the battery at Goodyear, or did they? Well I bought the Alternator, took the car home, packed up my truck with all my son's college gear and got on the road. I got him settled in, then commenced to driving back home. Next day, I took jumped my son's car off, and drove it to a trusty mechanic I know, and when he checked it (After having to jump it again) and stated the same then, "Sir you need a new alternator". Funny he said that, because I had bought one and it was in the back seat. This Master Mechanic, where the car was now at also told me that I didn't need a new battery to check the alternator and he showed me why. Moving forward, I got the alternator put on for way less than what I paid for this so called new battery from Good year that only lasted for 10 minutes. I started driving my son's car up to his university in Greensboro, NC and had to take a train back to Charlotte. Needless to say, a lot of this could have been avoided had the Manager at Goodyear first would have told me that he didn't have a mechanic to replace the alternator, and second he lied about the battery being the problem. You should not be in the business of customer service to anyone. Goodyear has been around for many moons and has a my upmost respect, however after what my Son and I experienced from the manager there, trust me I will never go back. He was very unprofessional in his words, and in his tone. My suggestion is the get the book called, "Speed of Trust" by Stephen Covey and take the time to read it. Mr. Manager, you may learn a great deal about yourself and how to fix it. read more
