A quick search revealed this place as a top steak restaurant in the Zurich area so we decided to give it a try. Glad we did.
We came here on a Friday evening around 7:30pm and got seated right away. The interior of the restaurant was warm and inviting and gave us an upscale impression such that we knew we were in for something special.
We began with the creamy mushroom soup as a starter. It was really good with great creamy texture and flavor. Perfect portion size and served at just the right temperature.
For the main entree, I chose the 300g New York steak at a medium temperature. I also chose a side of mashed potatoes. The steak was cooked to perfection and just the right amount of sear markings.
The dessert menu had lots of great choices. I decided to go with the homemade apple tart with vanilla ice cream. It was paired perfectly with a nice hot cup of americana coffee.
Really great restaurant. The only thing holding back from a 5-star rating was the time it took to receive the main entree. There was definitely a wait, enough for the server to apologize and explain how there was a large party that was ahead of us and that caused a slight delay in the kitchen, While this is certainly understandable, it shouldn't take away from my ability to receive my entree in a satisfactory timeframe. Nonetheless, this place is still very worthy of the 4-star rating and worthy of a return visit someday. read more
