This place sucks. Staff acts as if they hate their jobs, they don't pay attention to those who have been waiting for help as they selectively pick those they want to serve. Being a retailer for most of my life this place just does not cut it. The other area thrift stores seem to care for their clientele more than this store I shop other Goodwill's in the region, and have never had the issues like I see in this facility. The attitudes at checkout ruin the experience. Staff regularly question item prices to the customer, even though we clearly don't control pricing. It turns a simple purchase into an awkward exchange for no reason. Tried to donate plenty of items and they say come back tomorrow when they are open until 6 still over an hour

This Goodwill used to be a good place to find clothes at reasonable prices. It's well-organized and easy to browse through. Unfortunately, things have changed. They no longer allow you to try clothes on in-store, which is a major inconvenience--especially for items like jeans, where sizing can be wildly inconsistent. Now, you have to buy the item, take it home to try it on, and return it within 7 days with the original receipt if it doesn't fit. But even then, you can't get a refund--just an exchange or store credit. No cash back, and no refund to your card. On top of that, the overall quality of the clothing has noticeably declined. I've seen stained or ripped shirts priced the same as ones in good condition, which just doesn't make sense. Sadly, I won't be shopping at this Goodwill anymore. read more

I have a love/hate relationship with this particular Goodwill. I say that because I consistently find treasures and quality clothes! That's a huge plus! However, the considerable minus is the high prices they charge. It takes the fun and excitement out of thrifting. Many items they charge a small fortune for can be purchased for a lesser price in retail shopping! It also baffles me the way the items are priced. I'm guessing several individuals price incoming donations because I see a significant difference in prices for particular items. The same item can be priced at $2.99 while the other is $4.99! They need to lower their prices! The selection is good, and they restock a lot during the day. The staff is fabulous! But I can't get past the high prices! But I look at it this way: I could hit up Nordstrom and buy a classy one, too, or I can visit Goodwill and pay $7.99! All in all I find great items at this store, but the prices are higher than other Goodwill locations! read more

So let me start off by saying the employees here are fantastic! The majority of them are very friendly, respectful, and polite. So please understand my low rating has nothing to do with the staff or performance. Now, the reason for my low rating is the fact that the mark ups are just ridiculous! This is a donation-based store, secondhand goods being sold at retail prices or very close to. Shirts for $10, shoes for $16+ cups for $3+, toys 8+.. the list goes on and on. I frequent this place almost every day or every other day, and a lot of time the same items are still on the shelves. I would think that would be a clear sign that the majority of customers are not willing to pay the prices That are on display. For a store who's inventory is donated, greed is definitely on display. Dropped in excited to sew what Halloween Decor Goodwill had out, just as I walked In a gentleman in a mask pushed me into the rack of clothes, as my daughter looked up to see why he did it, she must of had a confused look, the Goodwill worker (female wearing a flannel and Goodwill smock) approached where we were standing (near the Halloween decor) and loudly stated "if you don't like it, you can Fu*king Go Shop Somewhere Else!". I will not be stepping foot in the overpriced thrift shop again, apparently they will Hire disrespectful bodies to sell their donations at a 150% markup. I suggest going elsewhere. At least Thrifty Bargain in Yuba City and Salvation Army in Marysville are friendly and don't swear at potential customers. read more

This review is for drop offs donations only. Now with that being said. In the past goodwill used to take practically anything. Well not any more. I'm assuming that some people took advantage of goodwill relieving them of their trash and junk that should have gone to the dump. Now a days the yuba city goodwill is extremely picky. I have attempted to drop off some pretty good stuff that they didn't want. It's to the point where I don't want to spend the gas to go and just get turned away. Again a waste of time and gas. It's getting to the point where it's easier to just take it to the dump and you know it's gone than to take the chance and get turned away. They really need a way you could send pics of an item you want to donate and get a pre authorization that the item you have they will take. But as of now it's a gamble. For this they are only getting two stars. There needs to be improvements in this area. read more

I came here because I had an Indian wedding to attend. Since the wedding is two days long with one day being traditional Indian, I wanted to find a dress! I didn't want to fork over too much $$$, my co workers suggested I try here. I'm so glad I listened to them! We walked in and Voila! There it was! A whole rack of Indian dresses with various colors, styles, and design! Yay! Before we came here, I had planned on not spending more than $30, probably half the price for a new dress. I figured if I didn't find a dress than I'll have to trek to Elk Grove and shop at some Indian clothiers there. I was quite shocked to see that the most expensive dress was under $15. My daughter and I tried several different dresses and we were able to decide in less than an hour. Plus, we bought two dresses for under $25, now that's a deal! The dresses need a little bit of altering, but I don't mind for the price I paid. This Goodwill is like any other Goodwill. Lots and lots of stuff. With lots and lots of shoppers here! This has got to be one of the more busier stores I've gone to. All in all, I'm happy I came here first before I shelled out lots of dough for a dress I'll probably wear once. read more

I'm very disappointed with my experience here lately. Employees continuously have a bad attitude towards everyone. I tried to be friendly with everyone, and I would come in regularly to shop for my classroom. However, today I found a great chair with no price (which is usual for stuff at the store to not be priced), and I carried it all the way across the store, waited in a 10 minute line of 3 people. When I got there, the cashier with dark black hair in a ponytail (always there) had a bad attitude. I mentioned it was sold and if she could tell me the price, and she said "it's sold.They took the tag. It's sold. NEXT, next person." She ignored me completely, so I asked "what should I do with it? Would you like me to leave it here or..?" And with a snarky tone she said "no I don't what you to leave it there!" So I asked "okay, where would you like me to put it..?" And she seemed ABSOLUTELY bothered when I'm trying to help and not just walk away. I wasn't mad at first, but after she just got bothered when I asked her where I should leave the chair. I honestly got very annoyed. Like did she expect me to walk it over back? As the CUSTOMER? ESPECIALLY after she was so short and rude? I'm just saying... aren't they getting paid to be there? If you don't like being there, then get another job? What an awful environment besides it being dirty and overpriced. I'm not coming back here any time soon. read more

Fairly organized thrifting. This location doesn't have a huge selection of furniture usually, but they do have a lot of great books, small home items, kids clothes, and sorting equipment. Of course every time you look things change, but it's always super organized and has great air conditioning!! Staff is pretty friendly and parking is easy. I continue to find good deals at this location but the floors are still filthy. I saw one day an employee sweeping the entrance floor but that was about it. They don't have anyone mopping the floor or scraping off the dried up gum or whatever it is on the floor. If you ever stay close to closing time be prepared to wait in the checkout lane. It will always be one cashier and a long line. Also, too many managers and not enough workers in this store. Seems no one wants to be there and that includes the workers and management. This is one of the messiest goodwill stores I have been to, just no organization except for the clothing section. They need to get someone else to manage this store and get it into shape. One more thing to say about this store. They have priced so many things way too much. I was looking at Budweiser Christmas steins the other day and they wanted $4.49 each and that is about $2 dollars too much. One even had a sticker from the original store for $2.50 and I know someone will buy it but I am retired and on a fixed income and cannot afford those kind of prices. read more

I called to find out how late we can drop off donations and an employee had said that I had until 6pm so I jumped in my car and drove from the base all the way to this goodwill in yuba city. I arrived around 5:30pm(half hour after I talked to an employee) and I was told that they can't take anymore donations. I requested to talk to the manager(Misha) and I explained my situation and that I drove all this way just for the purpose of donating thinking that she would be kind and show good customer service but she was not willing to budge. I felt as if they just didn't want to deal with the small load(two bags and a couple pillows). To deny donations for a good cause was very disheartening to say the least. As well as leaving someone so unsatisfied with their service. I will now be donating to a different cause due to their lack of customer service. read more

I came into this location and donated a couple hundred books after closing down my online bookstore. I accidently dropped off one of my college textbooks as well, I called in immediately and got a manager to help out and they said they would call me later with an update. Over a week later, and multiple calls on my end and many promises on their end I have still not heard a Sorry we cannot find it, just more empty promises to look and call me back. Needless to say I regret donating to them and will avoid doing so in the future and I had to reorder my college textbook. read more

This place is now sadly JUNK. I have donated to Goodwill for years, my family has donated to Goodwill as long as I can remember. I have friends that have been employed by them in the past. The term Goodwill is now gone. This place is has done nothing but go downhill in the last few years. I went to drop off clothes, books and some holiday decorations and was told they now have to go thru the donations to PICK and CHOOSE what they are going to accept. Absolutely ridiculous. Why is it that the clothes at this Goodwill cost more than new clothes at Wal Mart? And why is it that the Yuba City public water tastes, smells, and looks like it came straight out of the Feather River? Pretty unpleasant to wash one's hands & face in. Probably won't be back here for a long time. We used to frequent multiple times a week but the whole mask thing is ridiculous. I have absolutely no problem wearing one. My toddler can wear one. But to refuse letting us enter because our 10 month old didn't have a mask was ridiculous. They should all read the CDC website before telling me my infant needed a mask. It's about time that Goodwill FINALLY learned that if you mark something "too high", you're not going to sell it and it'll sit there FOR MONTHS! Instead of just using the color coding system to track what came out from week to week, they FINALLY learned to offer discounts for older colored tags! They have condensed and lessened the book section. Now, there are only 2 sets of double-sided shelves where there used to 6. And fewer books to choose from. I'm hard-wired to retrieve treasure from heaps of others' trash, maybe my ancestors were miners or pirates, never bothered researching it so who knows. It's so much more satisfying scoring on high-quality used items than paying full or even sale price on something I'll seldom use or wear. Because I am also hard-wired to be a glutton for punishment, I visited on Labor Day (Half-Off Day) parked a country mile out, loaded up a cart with Halloween costumes, work clothes, and housewares, and spent five minutes in line because the store was adequately staffed and thus the line was MOVING. That, other Goodwill stores (ahem, West Sac!) is how you move stale (and some spoiled/unsellable if not for being practically free, let's be honest) inventory and keep repeat customers like yours truly coming back for more heart-shaped baking pans and 90's sitcom promotional mugs. read more

This place is a disaster! it's very unorganized and you can't hardly find anyone who works there, or anyone who knows what they are talking about and the employees and manager and employees must not communicate with each other because when you ask an employee something the manager gives you a different answer! We went in to get a full mattress. We paid for it and were told they had one. We drove around to get it and were told there aren't any full mattresses but WAIT! we JUST paid for one! were JUST told they had one WHY would they say that if they didn't have one?! why would they have us pay if there wasn't one?!? Why wouldn't they CHECK FIRST before letting us pay for one?! I was angry. I was even MORE angry when they told us if we went and killed an hour there's another truck coming with full mattresses on it. We went to go eat lunch, and we came back an hour later to find that THE TRUCK DIDN'T HAVE ANY MATTRESSES AT ALL! The guy told us there's another truck the next day and IT has mattresses on it for sure, he'd put a note on the managers door and make sure one was put aside for us. The next morning my husband called them to confirm what time the truck would be there, and what time pick up for our mattress was.. he was told THEY DON'T GET MATTRESSES ON THE WEEKENDS, THEY AREN'T GETTING ANY!! OMG!!! I'm beyond livid! my son won't have a place to sleep, he's going to see his new room and not even be able to sleep in it!!! what is wrong with these people?!? I told her to get her lazy butt up and walk to the back room and actually talk to her employee and SHE REFUSED! I, for one, will NEVER NEVER be back! They are liars! and don't communicate with each other, The store's filthy and most of the things on shelves are wrappers and trash and broken items anyway, I should have just gone with my gut and gone elsewhere. Wow! We came into town for a visit after being gone for about a year. I was very impressed with how organized the Goodwill is now. I love its new location...the parking situation is much better.
