this place sucks, the prices are very high, they are just greedy, I attempted to buy a toaster for $10, and that's all I had, the girl at the counter wouldn't let me go for the $.60 tax, so I walked out, I couldn't believe it, b4 I left I told the girl that all of this stuff is donated....(hundred percent markup )You do not pay for it, why would you let me walk out without the toaster for 60 cents?!? ! plus it wasn't even a credit card. When our wives are spending money in your store and you tell us husbands we can't sit and wait for them. Old furniture and we can't wait for our wives while they shop. Furniture you didn't even have to buy! SHAME ON YOU! Wives weren't happy about this either. One thing a "retirement area" Goodwill should understand. The woman's husbands are normally with them. I am a frequent goodwill shopper. I love to go and look and relax. Of all the times iv been to goodwill and had great experiences today was the worst. I found a decanter set marked at $14.99 and the tag stated 6 piece set. I could only locate 4 of the pieces on the shelf. I spent around 40 minutes searching the entire store to find the missing pieces and couldn't locate them. I took the item to the front and asked for a price adjustment since it was missing 2 pieces. A manager was called and the cashier who was really sweet explained to the manager 2 pieces were missing. The manager stated she would have to go in the back and reprice since they don't reprice on the floor. I told her no problem I'll step out of line so I'm not holding the line up. She told me oh no it'll be 24 hours before it's back on the floor. At this point I'm super confused so I tell her well I'm trying to buy it I picked it out and I spent 40 minutes looking for the missing pieces and now you won't sell it to me? She told me no it won't go back out on the floor for 24 hours. She told me I could buy it but for $14.99. I said why would I pay full price for something that's missing 2 pieces from the set?? In all my visits to goodwill I never encountered an employee who flat out took something from me that I picked out and spent my time looking for the missing pieces and refused to reprice or accommodate. I honestly don't think I will visit this goodwill again after this experience and I'll stick with north port where the employees are so nice and so helpful. I never had an issue with them repricing something for me. Clearly wasn't my fault that 2 pieces were missing from the shelf. Very very disappointing read more

I was there looking for a bookcase and found one I liked and was even on sale for 25%. I waited in line to get to a cashier to ask for help getting it, she said someone would be right back.......20 minutes later with employees walking everywhere but none for me. I left and just called to inquire about drining 30 mins there for this bookcase to be simply told "I'm with a customer you have to call back"....No hold button?, no other associate? Poor POOR customer service. read more

Buyer beware, my wife purchased a purse for $20 that she thought she was paying 4.99... deceptive signage. She attempted to return it 2 minutes later and the manager (young girl) ignored us, she wasn't going to honor anything, noting to us sarcastically..." have a good day" There is boldly written "purses 4. 99" where under that is written "unless otherwise marked" in very small undetectable script. With that, watch out for the floor advertising of Goodwill Manasota... they're not customer friendly. This took place in the Venice store. read more

Most expensive Goodwill I have ever been to. I had a hard time believing it. Clothes were all outdated. Not much selection of household items. The toys were incomplete. Additionally, this was the only Goodwill I note of that does not offer a senior discount. When asked why, they said that the surrounding neighborhoods were over 55 community and that other Goodwills were focused on getting products in and out. read more

The guy in receiving donations is rude and unprofessional. I was trying to donate brand new things actually worth a lot of money out of the kindness of my heart and he just didn't wanna take it because he's lazy. I offered to help lift it with him. Turned me away. Last time I'll donate there that's crazy. read more

The manager I could strangle right now. There sis a dog in a hot car with no AC and I asked him if he could announce it over the loud speaker and he said, "we don't do that". So her we are waiting for the police. We have already been sitting here for 25 minutes. I dumped water In the cracked window but it's a pit bull and he didn't want me sticking my hand in there. Police juts showed up maybe now the manager will make an announcement. read more

I'm giving this goodwill the full 5 star treatment. Very nice inside and no bad smell. Almost like shopping in a new store without the new prices. On the day we shopped it was half off all green tags. Found clothes and what nots to load into our luggage for the ride to Cali. If I lived in Nokomis I would be a regular. read more

I stopped at this store when I was in Venice in August. Found nothing vintage, nothing that I could resell and prices were high. The Goodwill in Nokomis though had a lot of vintage, prices decent and the staff very helpful and pleasant. read more

Complete corporate greed.. upon entering I noticed employees removing most of the merchandise with the tag on sale.. it was day 1 with that color tag.. and rushing the merchandise out back.. I inquired why the sale items were all being removed and was told that corporate makes them remove It.. I will no longer be donating here.. ban goodwill!! read more

Always stop at Goodwill wherever we travel. Unfortunately, this one is not one of the better ones for bargains or selection.

The woman at the registers name is Karen - not a bad woman, just allows poor behavior from her boss.. The manager with the short brown almost bob looking haircut is a snooty, rude, and almost obnoxious chatty Kathy - not that that's her name, she DOESNT WEAR A NAME BADGE probably for good reason since she is so rude to customers. Needs to be fired or at least have her job reviewed. I usually find peace in a place like this but she made it hell for me and other fellow customers behind me so much so they as well as I became irritated with how she treats customers as if she's the queen. It's your JOB chatty Kathy and you clearly feel too high on your totem to realize that. Needs to be pulled from company and hopefully she learns a lesson in customer service. Was SO rude to customers that one guy in line (I wish I had) had to say hey don't treat the customer so rudely and talk to her like that! Talks about what's going on in her life and overruled the customer many times. Get rid of her now!!! read more

This is a huge Goodwill, if you are into thrifting, this is the store for you. My wife wanted to stop here on the way back from Casperson Beach. Just outside of Venice, Goodwill Manasota Rialto has some nice furniture, lots of clothing, and tons of kitchen items. We like to check out the furniture to see if there is anything we can recondition and make new again. read more

Excellent selection of tops. I have lived here for over a year and have visited most if not all the thrift stores and found this place to be completely different when it comes to clothing. They had an unbelievable amount of tops to go through. They had a small rack of designer labels, but strangely I found tons of name brands in their normal racks for $4.99 each like Ann Klein, Talbots, Ellen Tracy, and Ralph Lauren. The prices were all the same for all the tops. They don't put things on sale that have been there a while though - their one sale color doesn't get rid of old merchandise that REALLY should go... so you have crowded racks to go through and some things just need to be thrown away. I hardly get the one col bor 50% of tag items when i go. I don't even look at dresses because they price them at $7.99 each - whew! for a used, over washed, and can't return policy... when i could buy a brand new dress on sale at Target for $10 or at Talbots for $20 on sale? why? They really need to lower their dress prices. it's ridiculous. read more
