This location prices their items much higher than any other Goodwill of Central Iowa locations. The selection is much similar to the rest of the other Goodwill's of Central Iowa so I don't understand why it's priced so much higher. Nice location with lots to choose from. I found more items here than the other locations around town. Clean and well maintained. Good selections. During COVID employees are masked. Patrons are masked and social distant from others. Goodwill had good prices fir what I found. I typically look for specific brands and make sure they are like new or new with tag. I will definitely be returning if I want to look for specific items. I would choose this location over others first. read more

I went in to look at formal dresses. There weren't very many, I strolled around d the store. Everything seems 3be organized efficiently. The housewares shelves are rather bare, maybe I need to do a little cleaning out at home. the thing i didn't notice is that when you walk into mustGoodwill stores there is always a musty smell, not in this one. that was a bonus. So I had some extra time on my lunch and this store is basically in my work's parking lot. Spent about 30 mins shopping and since it's an upper class suburb, I found some nice shirts and some clothes for my daughter who is two. I work all day and overtime so that my daughter can stay home and so can her mom so she doesn't have to work and my daughter doesn't have to go to day care. So as you could imagine, money doesn't flow like water w one person income providing for 3 people. I realized I was late back to work so I handed the employee my large haul of nice and cheap funds for myself and daughter, asked him if he could kindly hold them behind the counter until my next break (2 hours from now,) he politely said he would have them held. I raced over as fast as I could on my break (15 mins) only to find out "uhh yeah we don't have anything back here, he probably put them back on the rack." So I had like 15 things from all over the store, so he would have had to go out of his way to put every piece of clothing back where it came from, or shoved it somewhere in the back. So now I have to go back a third time, and probably not be able to find anything bc it's shoved in some dumpster in the back and now I won't be able to find any pieces of the clothing that I spent 30 minutes picking out and wanted kind of badly and found clothing for my daughter and was pretty proud of myself but the lazy employees didn't bother to look around they literally didn't take one step or even turn their head to look for my pile of saved clothing. Just the "sorry we don't have anything he probably put it back." No apology, no assistance offered to help the situation. Just a complete lack of care or effort. Absolutely ridiculous. Would be fired the same day at my job if I treated a customer like that, so I guess that's why they work at Goodwill and I work where I work. Actual care and effort for the customer. I'm going to go back after work and if I can't find any of those clothes I'm going to be getting the employees name who "put my stuff aside for me" and his manager and I know nothing will happen but maybe it'll be the third or fourth time he has treated a customer incorrectly and he can get written up or actually have to *omg* be held accountable for his actions. read more

This Goodwill location is a large one and parking is good! I was thinking since this was in a "nicer" neighborhood that there would be a nicer selection. The employee helped us was very nice and friendly. The store was clean and organized but this location is no different than any others I've been too. Had that distinct smell and is organized the same as well. I also felt like they overprice some of the decor items. $3 for a small used teacup is a little high Imo. Doesn't matter the store, you have to just take your time and look through everything. I'm sure there might have been some good finds, I just wasn't as lucky this time lol read more

To the young man in the drive through that took a picture of my 85 year old mothers license plate. You don't know my situation. There were 5 cars in line with full loads. I had a small sack that I promised my mother to drop at goodwill on my way to the airport. I walked it up myself, put it behind.a pole out of the way next to your door to the building. I get a big loud attitude everyone could hear and a big production of taking a picture of my elderly mothers license plate. Really??!! So unnecessary. It's fine you wanted to make me wait in line. I would have if I could have ....you could have taken a whole different attitude instead of teaching me a lesson; how about some compassion that I needed help to get to the airport. read more

Great staff and whoa, the largest Goodwill store I've ever seen! Plethora of fun knickknacks and clothes for the smallest to the largest. I only visit sporadically as I don't live in the area, so I can't attest for frequent flier service unfortunately. I catch them on good days. read more

I needed last minute work clothes considering they changed the dress code policy. I go in to goodwill around 730pm just to see if i could find a couple shirts or so. It was 8:30 when they turned the music off and announced the store would be closing at 9. Which is understandable... so I went to try on the items I found and half way thru trying on, they announced that the store was closing soon every minute that went by. "We will be closing in 19/18/17 minutes". I just put my regular clothes on and left. I've never felt so uncomfortable shopping anywhere until now. I get it you're closing soon but all I needed to do was try on a couple things, make my purchase and leave. I would have been out of there before closing regardless. I have gone to almost all the goodwills in different states. This one is just so ridiculously priced specially dishes are crazy high. Higher then the department stores one corning ware saucer is 2.99 and crazy daisy tea cup was priced 2.99 each. Doll house tea set is priced individually 2.99 for lil cup 2.99 lil saucer 3.99 for teapot 3.99 for creamer it all adds up to $20 if u want to buy the whole set. Nothing less then .99c even 1 cheap used plastic plate is priced .99c. seriously? This is all donated stuff and your goal should be to sell the stuff so the money can be used to help the needy. Not be priced so high that no one can afford to buy it. Specially the people who really cant afford to pay regular price. And the clothes are priced high 6$ something for a pair of used jeans. And not to mention leggings or tights are same price as pants. read more

Stopped in while in town for business. Picked up an all black garment that looked all right. Got back to my hotel and realized there was a hole in it that I couldn't see just from holding it up in the store. Tried to take it back the same day, with tag still attached and receipt in hand, and learned that this location has an "all sales final" policy. Every Goodwill I've ever lived near - and that's several different states - has had at least a seven day return policy. Nope, not this one. Buyer beware; examine everything you buy extremely carefully because you're stuck with it the second you pay them. read more

This is the closest Goodwill store near us and every time we drop off items we receive horrible service from the people that run the drop off area. I can remember a few times where the employee just stared at me while I was ready to bring the items in. I even asked if they would get the bin but they just did nothing. So I went in and got the bin and loaded it up and brought it back in. So basically I did their job. The other time was when we stopped by at 8:53pm (they close at 9pm) to drop off items but their usual tire sensor thing wasn't out like normal, so I got out of my car to manually ring the doorbell to get help. I saw someone so I started to walk to my car to get the items but the employee said they were closed. I looked at my watch and said it was 8:53pm. He then said they close 5 mins till 9. I looked again at my watch and said it's 7 mins till 9. He then advised that I come back early in the morning and that the only reason he came out was to tell me they were closed. I started walking away because I didn't want to get into with him but he started to walk out with a bin. I was like what is the guy's deal?! He tells me to come back tomorrow but brings out a bin? First of all, if he didn't want to help he should have just stayed inside. Also he shouldn't have told me they close 5 mins till 9 when it wasn't 5 mins till 9! I still get annoyed thinking about this! I think I'll plan on donating items at this store at 8:54pm once a week now read more

I'm from another state and frequent the Goodwill's and thrift stores where I live multiple times a week and also when I travel. This one was disorganized dirty two ladies behind the counter no one's fault no one on the isles hanging up clothes putting away things that was a very sad place overpriced someone marks things up thinking they Have designer knowledge pretty looking glass were overpriced as in half for the shoes and boots really rather bleak will not be back read more
