I found a great shirt here for Sunday service. Staff is affable and the store has a great mission. I'll be returning to this location.

I'm not sure what I was expecting when I pulled up to the Outlet store, but my experience was…read moreinteresting. This outlet accepts all of the unwanted items from other Goodwill stores in the area as a "last resort" before they're recycled. It's in a large old warehouse or factory of sorts. After driving through the chain link fence and parking in the gravel, we entered to a room that was perhaps 40 by 50. People were rummaging through the clothing bins with such passion I surely thought there was gold at the bottom. They sell by the bag and it's very inexpensive. There was only a few bins of clothes and a few bins of toys. No housewares, furniture, or any other items. The inside has seen better days and was dark and rather off putting. We spent about 2 seconds in there and left. This place is great for people who have a very small budget and need clothing or children's toys and not so much the Millenial thrifter.

I've read mixed reviews about this place for years. But let me tell you. It isn't a high end store…read more It is goodwill. There are bins there with clothing along with other things they are purchased and paid by the pound. Great place to pick up things to resell online, such as myself and you can't beat the price. So, obviously people will complain about that, or how people "paw through the bins"... that's the whole idea. Life can't always be perfect and that goes for shopping experiences. But I love this place and the staff are always so helpful and friendly... now if they would open back up soon--- that would be even better!

I have never felt so humiliated in a store as I did at this Goodwill location in East Ridge. This happened on 4/29/26 in late morning/early afternoon. My husband is in his 60s, a stroke survivor, and relies heavily on a cane. He has difficulty speaking and sometimes gets confused, so he needs a little extra time to communicate and understand. What happened here was the exact opposite of the patience and understanding anyone would expect from a charity that prides itself on being "inspired by compassion for the poor, sick, and disabled." A cashier named Helen told him the senior discount was 25%. My husband said that he had been told at a different location just a couple of weeks ago that it was 40%. Instead of showing an iota of empathy or patience, and try to help my husband understand, she repeatedly talked over him. He wasn't upset--he was trying to get his words out, which is already difficult for him. Her tone was incredibly loud and rude. Then, she volunteered to call the manager, Jeremiah, like she was bringing in back up. Which I suppose she was because he was no better--if anything, he was worse because he was the manager and should have tried to de-escalate Helen's irritation and the situation in general. Instead, just like his employee, he also talked over my husband repeatedly, didn't allow him to finish a sentence, and showed ZERO patience or empathy. To the point that my husband was reducing to asking, 'Can I please finish my sentence?' multiple times and was ignored while Jeremiah kept talking over him. It was impossible for my husband to communicate at all. We were calm the entire time. No threats or yelling. Not even any foul language. Yet instead of showing any understanding toward an elderly, disabled man who may have simply been confused, we felt completely attacked. When my husband tried one more time, "Can I please finish my sentence?" - We were then told that if we didn't leave, we would be escorted out. Imagine a disabled man in his 60s, barely able to walk with a cane being forcibly escorted out of a Goodwill of all places because he was misinformed on the senior discount! The entire exchange, from start to finish, lasted only a few minutes. We left quietly--but the experience was deeply upsetting and humiliating. No one deserves to be treated this way. This was not just poor customer service--it was openly rude, dismissive, and lacking in basic human decency. What makes this even more troubling is that this experience is completely at odds with Goodwill's stated mission to support individuals facing barriers to independence. Again - If this is how employees are trained to treat disabled customers in their stores, how are vulnerable individuals treated behind the scenes when they come to Goodwill for help?

Before my visit I had loaded a lot of coupons on my account via online, including the weekly $5 off $25 they run each week. In addition, I had a $5 DG gift card (or so I thought) that I had received from DG due to their coupons not applying and/or applying correctly. Once I got to the checkout, I entered my phone# so that my coupons would be applied. At first, it seemed to take - then all the sudden it logged me out. The nice cashier worked with me several times - I would try to re-enter my # and again, get logged out. She also scanned the DG gift card and it did not have the $5 it! People - this is what Dollar General has stooped to! Next thing I know, I've got a female store manager, then shortly after that, a tall male staff (security?... I don't know who he was - but he was less than 2 ft from me WITHOUT A FACE MASK!) The female manager asked me what the problem was and I explained it to her, and she became a bit defensive and said there was nothing she could do about it. I made it clear that I understood it was not her fault, but that I was TRYING to communicate that there are real issues with their system. Her attitude and tone made me feel like I had done something wrong for just informing them of the problem! I let them know I would not be purchasing the buggy full of items without being able to get credit for all the coupons I had loaded. After seeing real quick that this was going nowhere fast, I told them that I would just take my business elsewhere. I exited the store as was hobbling to my car, when the male employee (again-no mask) approached me and asked if I was still interested in purchasing the items, the manager said she would manually adjust the total for my coupons. He asked me "So how much do you think the coupons you have on your account come to?" So on the spot - with the numerous items - I'm trying to calculate my coupons in my head, but the guy would not stop talking and was very patronizing. I couldn't think straight and was trying to get him to hold on so that I could give him an accurate $, but he raised his voice to me and said "Mam - DON'T YOU SHUSH ME!" (Let me remind you I'm NOT IN THEIR STORE - I'M TRYING TO LEAVE THEIR STORE - HE APPROACHED ME!) That's when I told him I never want to do business with the likes of them ever again. I'll take my business elsewhere! I told him that I was an old disabled grandma and I'm no threat - and I do not need to be treated this way - and HE LAUGHED IN MY FACE! People, this is PURE EVIL! Disrespectful! He, in my honest opinion, was trying to stir up trouble. Why else was he acting that way??? Once I got to my car - I was so upset I just burst out crying. I don't know how I held it together as long as I did. Not to mention it takes a lot out of a person with a physical disability to shop in general. Now all my efforts went down the drain. Now - I am upper in age and suffer from more than one disability - including heart disease and osteoarthritis. I always wear my mask and do my errands early in the morning to avoid Covid-19 exposure to the best of my ability. For an employee at this store to approach a customer, without a face mask and not social distancing and treat them this way is beyond reprehensible! Food City is across the street - I spent over $100 after I pulled myself together. BEWARE! This store is horrible. Take your business elsewhere.
