I was on the hunt for college hoodies for my son. I scored at his location. I started looking in the men's area. The store is organized by men's/women's and girl's/boy's. Shirts and plants are separated. I was thumbing through the mens section and didn't really find much. I kept looking, and came across the outdoors section. This is where I found a ton of hoodies. I was so thankful they had plenty different college hoodies that were in my son's sizes. His school has a strict uniform policy, but they can wear any college hoodie. My son wasn't with me, so I checked on the return policy and you can return within 14 days to any of the greater Indianapolis goodwills. Service was friendly, and I felt pleased with my visit. Thanks to goodwill, I found enough to last him the rest of the year without breaking the bank. read more

I stop in this Goodwill in Carmel fairly often. I always like to look around to see what I can find and I just haven't had great luck with this Goodwill. Everything in the store is fine it is just that I don't find the kind of clothes I'm looking for. I have found a couple decor items in here that I have taken home and there are plenty of other shops and restaurants near here so I just make a day of it whenever I come to Carmel. It's worth stopping and taking a look you never know what somebody is going to donate. read more

I frequently drop off clothing and household items at this Goodwill location. Occasionally I have brought furniture as well. I like to donate at this location because there are always friendly employees at the donation door ready to help unload. I've always been greeted pleasantly and thanked for my donation. A different location where I have donated in the past never seemed to have any employees available to help people unload donations from their vehicle. They simply leave bins out where you have to sort clothing, household items, etc. as you unload your donations. It's the time of year when I clean out my closets and garage, and once again I have experienced the friendliness and helpfulness of the employees here. Holy organizational skills, I am seriously impressed with the Carmel Goodwill! This place may be the holy grail of Goodwill. I'm an avid Goodwill hunter. From trendy clothes to items that I can upcycle in my artwork, there's always something good at Goodwill. I stopped in this Goodwill, this morning, on the hunt for items for the dress up chest I'm putting together for my granddaughters. The first thing I noticed when I walked in was the amount of women's clothing and shoes. All clothing is at the front of the store, with toys, household items, etc located at the back. This location seems to be heavier on the clothing, than anything. Or maybe it's just the way they have it set up? However, I also noticed they have a nice sized mens section too, which is also rare for a lot of Goodwill's. Shockingly the infant and childrens section of clothing is small, compared to how much they have for big peeps. But my, OH MY, is it ever organized extremely well! I have never in my life seen such a thing at a Goodwill! At other Goodwill's, you'll find a cute pajama top or piece that is CLEARLY part of a set. Yet you'll then have to go hunt thru racks of clothing in search of said matching piece, IF you even find it. This has really frustrated me at my local Goodwill, where I stop in weekly. I have seen that matching piece finally appear weeks later, after the top is long gone. Here, all pajamas and outfits are matched and sold together as sets. Since my husband also has a Yelp account, all I'm gonna say is that I reached the limit I had set for myself within 15 minutes and had an entire basket of very cute toddler girl clothes, an entire outfit with Children's Place tags still in place, and one cheerleading outfit for the dress up trunk. You know that makes you feel good and of course, all the prices around the others are all the same. Not a lot of variety things. The store, however is tidy and organized. I just wished they had more home decor. During my past visits, have seen plenty of glass vases or jars. But that's about it. Nothing seasonal. Just very few. Edit to add: the employees here are awesome, especially Taty who is always so pleasant. read more

I love this goodwill. It's always super organized and I can always find a ton of cool stuff. The workers are always out reorganizing clothes and other misc items that customers have placed elsewhere. I do think this goodwill has higher prices than many. I got a dress here for $8, which I think is pricey for goodwill. read more

Wow! 5 out of 5 stars for the donation staff. Right when I pulled up, multiple employees were rotating taking donations and all 3 were extremely kind! I didn't even have to get out of my car, they just grabbed everything for me, spoke to me and said thank you. It is SO refreshing to interact with positive, kind, and helpful employees. Nothing like the goodwills near my house. I will drive the distance for this one. read more

They do NOT have fitting rooms.... And if you BUY AND return an item, you only get STORE CREDIT! What an awful policy. Yikes.

Omg I've never felt so disrespected and disappointed in my entire life.. being a broke college student I decided to stop at goodwill to buy furniture for my apartment. I settled on buying a dining set and love seat/ sofa. Upon returning to retrieve my items, an associate was rude and unprofessional about helping me with my items. Just all around rude and insensitive. I decided to get a refund on the love seat and unfortunately was only able to receive a gift card, but that was better than dealing with them any longer. I will NEVER and I mean EVER return to this location ever again!! I really hope this review will lead to better customer service training and understanding in the long run. Went with a friend last night to find some crafting supplies and he found some options and I got a couple wood frames for paintings. The only complaint is the prices although it's cheap they are a bit high sometimes considering it was all donated to them. The color of the day always seems to be the least available tags too, weird how that is. Still a good place to find some thrift shop goodies and options for crafting and art ideas. This store looks a lot larger than most but not the case once inside. It is about the same as other locations in the area. The girl over the intercom kept cracking us up too. read more

I bought one item by mistake and next day went to this store tried to return it. When I got inside the store, saw no return clerk in return desk and a long line of people waiting checking out. I ask one clerk if she can call someone to return desk help me return but she refused to and very rude pointed to the end of the waiting line. When so called manager came to return desk , I complained about it. She said if you complain she won't do return for me and call cops. Worst customer service in this store. I have donated many things to this store before but no more. read more

I thrift shop once or twice a week and hit all the Goodwill's around Indy. This one is notoriously high priced and typically doesn't offer much good but I still visit every time I am in the area. That said after today I will never step foot in that store again because of its manager. I had a return from another store of an item that had damage I didn't notice when I bought it one half hour before at a different store. i was planning to do the return quickly and hopefully spend some money in her store. The manager refused my return citing the tag had been removed and effectively insulting me as some kind of cheat over a $1 item! Apparently losing my business forever (including that visit) over a $1 return is an acceptable business practice. I would like to add that her employees were incompetent and seemed afraid of her, making me wait at the counter for several minutes over (again) a $1 return. Sadly I left the store without spending anything there vowing to that incompetent manager who apparent hates customer service I will never go back! Again, that store also has notoriously high prices for thrift as well. Don't waste your time there. The one at 116th and Allisonville is much better. read more

This is my personal favorite Goodwill. Considering how many Goodwills I have been to across the United States, that's saying something! Items are well organized. I rarely see items misplaced - staff are quick to tidy. I don't see trash (on the floor *or* the shelves). Most items are in very good condition, whether that be a faux plant, silk blouse, puzzle, you name it - THEY HAVE IT and in good shape! Just thinking about this store makes me want to take a trip. read more

I love me some Goodwill shopping. I've been a fan since college when I started buying furniture for my crib. Sometimes I think that Goodwill thinks they have incredible merchandise - so incredible that they price it for more than retail (on new, not used, products). So to that I say, know what you'd pay for something if you bought it at a big box store. Otherwise, you can find some really great treasures at Goodwill. There are several locations throughout Greater Indianapolis and they have certain sale days each month. Oh, and go ahead and get that reward card for additional % or $ off. read more

Goodwill used to be a great place to shop. Finding anything in there worth buying these days is becoming more and more difficult. People selling their stuff on facebook instead of donating it is probably the reason. The prices have gone up as well. If you do find anything nice it's usually overpriced. I do love their mission, but the prices are kind of ridiculous. read more

Goodwill is my favorite store!! I shop here frequently. This is one of my favorite locations. However, when I checked out at this location a clerk was a bit snarky/not that friendly with me. He made me feel back for buying a lot of items. Just trying to make small talk with him while he was scanning my items and just wasn't having it. He made me feel silly for buying too many items and was overall unfriendly. I usually have a pretty good experience. And I found a lot of awesome items. The clerk at the end ruined my experience at that visit. read more

You know what you can expect at Goodwill? The unexpected. Sometimes you'll find real treasures, and sometimes you'll walk out with nothing at all. But it's fun...as much for the people watching as anything else, and occasionally I'll find something I just can't live with out. We stop by here pretty often just to browse, and usually leave with something we don't really need, but want anyway. And, sometimes we have to make a trip back just to re-donate it and start the cycle all over again. read more

Just your average Goodwill I guess lol. There were less items in the store than I expected. The store seemed bigger from the outside. I didn't think there was much to look at besides clothes. I also am mostly interested in furniture right now, so that section in particular was disappointing. Great location though! read more

Beware of fact that clothing items all sold without any attempt by goodwill to sanitize or clean them.

My experience at this Goodwill location was a very successful one. I stopped at this store on my way home from work to get items to make my Halloween costume for the coming weekend. This Goodwill had literally everything I wanted, and needed, and then some. It was clean, had friendly service, and the selection was huge. They had an amazing book selection as well as furniture. I went on a Wednesday, and for whatever reason, everything seemed to be half off of my purchase (I wasn't complaining) and I bought a boatload of items for under $10. When shopping at Goodwill, I would definitely do some research on what days have certain deals because you will be amazed at what you can get for a little amount of money. read more
