Talk about sketchy. Which is odd, especially since they redid the roadway into the plaza this sits…read morein. The space next door looks relatively new but at the same time it looks like it is one minute away from disrepair. Also, the lot in front of it is fenced off. The lot in front of this, looks like it was a complete afterthought. Completely not maintained. This location is serviced by a bus and appears to be connected to another plaza as well. However, the lot is always in chaos. Behind the store is a drop off center for donations which is constantly busy with someone either coming or going from back there. Inside, it was just as much a mess as it was outside. The size was small and the sections were disproportionate. Some areas were well organized and stocked and others were just a mess. Nothing of interest to me here. I browsed a few sections and didn't see anything worth snatching up. After a while I was back out to my vehicle to continue on my journey home with the thrift stop here or there.

If you accept this location for its strengths and not focus on the negatives you won't go in with…read morehigh expectations and leave disappointed. I sometimes have to remind myself of this as I make the long drive from Lancaster to this location which is part of my thrift store rotation. First their strengths: Biggest and best toy department of all area thrift stores. While some pieces are not perfect they have a good selection. Your best finds will most likely consist of Little People sets, plastic dollhouses, puzzles, and bigger pieces like kitchen sets. If you are looking for a cheap, functional (but not attractive) furniture piece or dresser in need of a makeover, you will find lots of items here with potential. They also have items I haven't seen elsewhere pertaining to elderly supplies; canes, walkers, etc - best selection here than anywhere. Linens are also strong since the quantity is abundant. You will need to do some sorting but will most likely walk out with what you're looking for. Although it might take a few visits. However don't expect clean isles and lots of organization. Also the location is touchy - only because the big retailer next door closed so the parking lot is scary at night. My most recent visit I was greeted by a homeless man at the front door. So my advice is if going alone go during the day. The biggest disappointment for this store is what they have the most of; clothing. I am constantly disappointed by organization, quality, and especially prices. I've seen new with tags dresses here in the $59 range only to be covered in dog hair and need pressed. You might be on the hunt for black pants and go thru an entire isle of such and think your search is over only to find two more selections with black paints. It's not unusual to find a shirt you like only to discover holes and stains. In fact it's more likely than not at this location as their sorting process is not thorough. Prices overall for clothes are higher. The dressing rooms also need improvement. One hook and a broken mirror as well as a foul smell greeted me this past Saturday. Not to mention ripped up tags and broken hangers on the floor. They could definitely work on that. So while there is flaws it's still worth a trip if you're looking for something secondhand. Maybe just don't drive from as far away as I do.

I can't drive past a Goodwill without stopping. Never being to this location before I went in with…read moreno expectations. In my opinion most Goodwills are similar in organization and price with the only difference being in donation quality. I did like the quality at this location. Not because the of the brand names (which were there but not many high end brands) but because nothing I looked at was stained or excessively worn. Many of the clothing was of current fashion and organized by small, medium, and large. A row of short sleeve black tops here than more of the same a few isles over. So just when you think you went thru all the large black dress pants you find another row a few isles over. That to me doesn't make any sense but is typical Goodwill. The store itself had room for improvement and could have used a good floor cleaning. Shoes weren't in their own department but instead stored above the clothing racks in no particular order. You had to walk around the store and check every rack to shop for shoes. I didn't see any for less than $9.99 but admit their quality was really good. The dressing room was clean but only provided one hook. The ladies room was also clean with the exception of overflowing trash can. I didn't see any sales staff on the floor. Clothing pricing were mostly in the $5 range regardless of what it was. The children's department and linens were small in comparison to other stores. The housewares department was plentiful, but messy and on shelves and bins. Prices for this department was all over the place. I found smaller, cheaper artwork in the $9.97 range yet older artwork with larger, wooden ornate frames for $2.97. At the time of my visit there were more vcr videos than dvs which ranged in price from .97 to $1.97 On the hunt for a long, narrow framed print to paint over for a project I was immediately drawn to one in the bins with a lower price tag. It was obviously vintage with a custom, ornate frame but it was of the Last Supper. I didn't have the heart to buy it to paint over. During my shopping experience I kept coming in contact with a strange couple who acted like they were shopping but never picked anything up. They seemed to be following me and several times blocked me in an isle with one at one end while the other was blocking the other end. The male kept getting really close, even apologizing once for invading my personal space. While they didn't do anything to me instinctually I felt something was off and kept my purse close. Worth mentioning so you can be aware of your belongings and surroundings while you shop. While I didn't love this store and spent more than I would have elsewhere I didn't leave empty handed.

I've been going to their other location on Eastern Blvd for several months now on the regular since…read morediscovering them. I signed up for their email offers and receive advance notice of sales, discounts, and general news. Last week I received an email not only promoting their newest location on Pauline Dr, but alerting me to a 50% off sale at their donation center a few doors down. Since I've been meaning to check out their newest location this weekend was perfect timing. They were easy to find in a large shopping complex near a Giant grocery store. The shopping center was busy, retail space was all occupied, and it felt safe. I visited the donation center first since that's where the 50% off sale was held. Aside from sale events I got the impression this is just a donation center. The inside was pretty plain, with half the space blocked off for the donation center. Long rows of clothing and shoes filled the space. A few furniture pieces were in the window but I overhead them saying they were not part of the sale. For $20 you could fill a bag (and they said they generously stuff it) or pay 50% of the tagged price. *Life Path clothing prices are generally higher than Goodwill and other thrift stores, so after the discount it made them more in line with other thrift retailers. Normally I don't shop for clothes here because I could buy new at Walmart for the same price, but will admit the quality is on point as is their sorting process. I've never seen anything with obvious wear or blemishes. With that being said (and since no dressing room was available) I bought one half price sweatshirt for my grandson that was like new. The girls at the casher (I'm assuming a mother/daughter) greeted each customer upon entry, cleaned the makeshift cashier station, were professional, and friendly. I then preceded to the main store a few doors up. Life Thrift stores in general are a little bland but they do some displays. Clothing dominated but they did have an adequate toy, house ware, and linen sections, all reasonably priced. The store was very crowded, in fact much busier than the 50% store and hard to social distance. There was one lone cashier and a line that extended to the back wall. I didn't see any employees on the floor. The bathroom was out of toilet paper, thankfully I come prepared. I would have liked to shop longer and really take a look at the house wares but there were so many unmasked customers in the store that I ended up leaving prematurely. I wanted to bring it to the attention of the cashier, who was obviously very busy, so instead I went back to the 50% off store and alerted them. The older woman immediately left her post and marched down to remedy the situation as it was obvious she took my compliant seriously. I don't know the outcome as I left, but I did watch her walk down there. I would say there were a good 10 or more people unmasked in the store, and at an occupancy capacity that probably was above covid recommendations. The store had a sign that masks were required, but given that so many people came in unmasked ignoring the sign sends the message that they've done this before and mask wearing isn't enforced. The store is about the size of Goodwill. I would give them another chance whenever I'm in the area again. *EDIT TO ADD: Adult clothing is priced high but children's is pretty reasonable.

Very happy to discover this thrift store while driving through York and surprised it never made it…read moreto Yelp before now. Now that I know of it's existence I'll be coming on the regular. Walking in I wasn't expecting much. The retail area is very nondescript and unmemorable. Very basic layout with rows of clothing separated by item/color, and some racks but not many by size. Shoes and purses lined the one wall, mens and children's were on the other side and housewares in the back. Some furniture items were showcased in the front with lesser quality pieces in the back. Little or no display or props other than furniture which is just there. At first glance I wasn't sure if I wanted to take the time to go thru the racks, after all I had hubby in the car (his choice) on a hot summer day. But once I dove in I couldn't stop. The brands and quality were some of the best. I saw Michael Kors over and over. Many items were like new or with tags. In about 15 minutes time I had an entire cart of items to try on. With my recent weight gain I'm finding less and less that fit (damn you covid!!) so I'm having to constantly shop to replenish my closet. I will say that the prices were higher than average for thrift and more in line with consignment, which normally I would bulk at given the retail space is so blah. But the quality was exceptional and I found several key pieces that are great additions to my wardrobe so it was worth the extra money. If I find the time I'll post some of the great items I bought. Just an example of pricing: tee shirts are in the $3.99 - $7.99 range, purses $9.99, jeans and shorts $7.99-$11.99, some blazers, coats and dresses were $19.99 They do have offers if you sign up for their email and I was able to score 5% just for asking to sign up (and mentioning the current discount the customer in front of me used). The staff were happy to give it to me without question and also to tell me how many people my purchase today fed ( a whooping 23!). It's shopping you can feel good about and also very worthy of your sell-able donations. Worth mentioning: no Sunday hours, easy to find BEHIND the Weis on 462 in East York beside the Petco.

The floors are highly dirty with trash lying all over, not to include the distasteful music playing over the loud speakers. To each their own - Not my cup of tea. The staff is very friendly, but seems to be unable to answer any questions without calling a manager or higher-up.

There are in fact four total stores, and I can assure that this one is the location in South York. If this reverts back to that actual York location, in downtown, know that I did not visit there and that was definitely not the location I went to. I was not in downtown York, I was in a plaza in South York. In fact, this was an old Tuesday Morning location before they moved in. LifePath is what I would call this areas Goodwill. A thrift store that benefits the area and the work this organization does. I can't speak to all the locations, I can just speak to this one. This location was well organized and had a ton of items. I didn't come in here for anything in particular, I just came in here to browse. I went through the clothes and peaked at the furniture. But I was drawn to the electronics section as I always am. I went up and down the aisles and found one item in particular that caught my eye. Something that I had been toying with getting, but just never found one at a decent price. I walked by it several times and eventually picked it up. I had wanted a hot air popcorn maker for a while, just didn't want to pay the price for a brand new one. Eventually I would get around to it, but not a priority. This thing was basically brand new, didn't even look like it was used once. I saw the price and decided that at $6 now was the time to snag it. Went to pay, had a great transaction with the employees in here. Paid and was out the door. When I got home, I did my due diligence with cleaning the pieces that should be cleaned. It may have looked brand new, but didn't want to take any chances. Plugged that thing in and made myself some of the best popcorn I had in a while. Definitely a diamond in the rough here.
