Don't bother with Goodwill... There is not goodwill in their mission objective, just greed and pay out for the executives. The idea and intent of Goodwill started good enough but that is no longer the case. There's no 'profit' per say, because of accounting practices and distribution of unused revenue amongst the upper level executive. The clothes are no longer a good deal, nor does the business exist to transfer the goodwill of those that donated the items. They get it for free, why sell them at eBay prices? It's becoming a scam really... The following numbers are a couple of years old, it's expectingly higher now. The space is big & it's nice to have a place to donate all my clothes/ things I go through as a college student... BUT The items aren't organized very well/ efficiently, so it's hard to look for anything unless you've got the time to dig through every section and every piece :/ Maybe bc it's still new?? Don't know if I'd return.... maybe in a few months! read more

This Goodwill is amazing. They have lower overall prices than the Goodwills in Richmond, which is why I believe they do not do the Goodwill 20% off card. Doesn't matter, since prices are low. I have found very great finds including a $2,000 Thonet Rocking chair for only $20! I have also bought a coffee table for only $15 that I have restored. Also, I only buy name brand clothing which I have found Spirit Jerseys, Ralph Lauren, Banana Republic, VS Pink, Simply Southern, and much more! This place is the largest Goodwill I have been in and have a great selection of clothes and furniture and Knick knacks! Definitely stop on by! Plus the color sale, you get things half off! $1.90 for each piece of clothing, you can't beat that! read more

I was so excited to finally visit the new Goodwill superstore! Now, I'm just underwhelmed. It's located in the old Gander store across from the WalMart area but they aren't using the entire space. That said, the selection was very limited. The best part is that the clothes are neatly situated by size making your area a little easier to find. Hopefully, they will eventually occupy the entire space and have a selection that warrants this move from several smaller stores to one big store. Nutshell: I wish they would move back to the old stores at this point. read more

this review is not so much product as policy. I have donated to goodwill and support the values they set forth 100%. The problem lies in their rigid inexplicable policies on returns. I donate five or six times a year because it seems I never catch up on all the "stuff" that needs to go. I usually walk through the store each time and one out of four I'll find a Knick knacks or something I can use further supporting their mission. Monday I purchased a bag related to outdoor sports , new in the box so I did not open nor inspect it at that time. the item was not what I thought and not useable so with receipt in hand and within 72 hours went to return it. I was told rather sternly this was not possible as it was a prohibited return item because it wasn't clothing or shoes, this to me seems arbitrary. From this day on I'll be taking my donations to the Salvation Army. It's a matter of principal. If the powers that be can be so short sighted to throw away years of future donations and monetary support on one inexpensive item so be it, I am saddened by this but believe I have been treated unfairly and can no longer patronize this venue. read more

I usually have pretty positive experiences at Goodwills but this one is terrible. It's 99% clothes, and the other items they have are total junk. And the past couple times I've been there it smelled of urine. It's a shame because the old Goodwill in Charlottesville was amazing, and now we have this. Sometimes bigger is NOT better. read more

Pretty good sized store , but lots of wasted space and poorly arranged. Housewares and appliances are thrown on movable, aluminum shelves with no organization, giving a junky, disorganized appearance. It's not just the appearance though most of it IS junk! Lots of broken items , missing parts and things unidentifiable. Many things are overpriced. I have actually seen items come in from Dollar General in similar stores with the original price on it and then the goodwill price is marked higher! They have plenty of space for dressing rooms. So much so that they built three of them that are almost twice as big as they need to be.So that's all there are for the entire store. Almost every time I go in to try something on there is a line at least five or more deep waiting to use the fitting rooms. read more

I went to the Goodwill collection site on Gander Rd. It was not a good experience. I had a box of bathroom throw rugs. The young man that came to my car said "we don't take rugs". I asked him where I could find that information as it was not listed on the sign outside their facility. He shrugged as a response. I then asked if they had a trash collection where I could toss them out. He said "lady, this is not the dump".. I will never go back there again. I will stick to the Ruckersville site from now on. read more

Incredibly annoying some days as the employees have no understanding of good customer service, and very few working the registers can count back change even with a register that tells them how much change will be. Prices seem to be set based on the mood of the employees that day, absolutely no consistency, it is also dirty and covid measures have never been followed, again consistantly. read more

Need. Moar. Dressing rooms...to match the expanded floor space and larger selection. On a busy Saturday afternoon, you can easily stand in line for 30 min. to try on clothes, so probably avoid if you're on a time crunch. That being said, I have waited in that line, because I always seem to find something tempting. read more

I love this store ever since they combined the two smaller locations. They have an enormous selection and the prices are awesome, very reasonable. I was recently thrifting in Richmond and there was a noticable price hike at that shop compared to this one (a couple bucks higher for clothing, and pillows were $5 as opposed to the $2 ones at Cville, as examples). My only ding is for customer service, as I've dealt with a snooty cashier there. Most people have been nice though. The new location is definitely out of my way now which is a bit annoying as I have to really plan my trip out there as opposed to just popping by when I'm in the pantops area, but it's usually worth the effort for some fun finds! read more
