While prices do remain high on most items, I really love coming here for dvds and books! They have a great range of books to choose from and some are decently priced. Went in yet again to bring some items for them and found them to be terribly rude and very picky telling me they'll take certain items and not others that were perfectly fine and unbeknownst to them of pretty good value. This is the third time this has happened and I decided that they'll never see another item that I'm giving away I had two nice Schwinn bikes in great working condition and before I could even get it out of the truck the guy said "hey bro I don't know if we'll take that. Bring it over and let me look at it" I packed everything back up and took it down to salvation army off Palomar airport road at the outlet mall and they happily took all these goods which were actually worth about $400 with home music recording equipment, keyboards and electronic equipment along with toys, lamps and two bikes. read more

This is one of those Goodwill stores that's mostly a bookstore. They do sell some other items like clothes, accessories, and knick knacks, but just a few select items and priced higher. Book selection is decent and well organized. read more

Place is absolutely ridiculous. I clearly have a recipe showing I can exchange in Southern California but they just saying kept saying that because it wasn't bought in SD "county" I can not. Guess there are different goodwills. They definitely need to specify that!!!! Instead of wasting people's time. read more

This review is solely in regards to their books. What an amazing find! The right half of the store is dedicated to book! It looks like it's own mini book store. Not your typical goodwill selection. The books are categorized; mystery, self help, history, fiction, cooking, kids, best sellers, science fiction. What a joke this place is. I started dropping off good quality toys- great condition - after doing a little Christmas toy cleaning at the house around 9:45Literally just started to unload from my car to get them ready to turn in when a worker comes out and tells me that they start at 10 AM otherwise she will report my car license and will be fined $10,000. WHAT??? People like this associate (won't I've her name out) is what's wrong with this world. I'm trying to do good only to be told she will report my license plate and be fined 10K fine.. She absolutely could have told me in a nice way if it was truly a big problem that I started unloading 15 minutes early. read more

Three stars for now since I haven't been in the store and I can't comment on that...but I can comment on the donation area. Being such a bleeding heart, I love donating things. Everyone needs something, give back, help others..blahblahblah..all that jazz. :) When Goodwill finally opened closer to my home (and I drive past it several times a week!) than the Escondido location, I was ecstatic. Thus, 'Operation Donation' began. The donation area is in the back with a very easy drive up area. You ring the bell, someone happily comes out, helps you with your ridiculously large amount of donations, smiles, hands you a receipt for tax purposes and you're on your way. read more

This goodwill bookstore is organized like the other goodwill bookstores, has nice employees inside, but it is very expensive. Each book I looked at getting was between $6-9. Too much for goodwill. Other goodwill bookstores I have shopped at do not price the books that high. They max out at $5, but this store is expensive for a goodwill. If you are here to drop off, the drop-off area is behind the store, so watch out if you are trying to donate. read more

This Goodwill is terrible! It used to be great 2-3 years ago with fair prices. However, now the prices are outrageous and the guy that rang me up had over charged me by a significant amount (I had been double charged for multiple items and found the error after recalculating things myself, because the total I paid didn't make sense) Don't waste your time or money coming here, there are better alternatives. read more

This small store has a ton of books and they are all organized which I don't know that I have ever seen in my many years of thrift shopping. The store is clean and items are displayed nicely. The employees all seemed friendly. I generally don't like to pay more than a couple of bucks for a book. I bought a book and a dvd for which came to about $7. A little pricey for my standards. Still if you are in the area might be worth a browse. read more

RUDE cherry-pickers. My buddy and I stopped by this weekend to drop-off a bunch of really nice stuff. The attendant in the back was rude and mouthy. Started to cherry-pick through our stuff and telling us what they could not take. I get that they can't take everything but that should not be my problem. Not that this was the deal breaker- the way they did it is what I have a problem with. Don't bite the hand that feeds you! Without donations, Goodwill does not exist. I don't need the attitude. Im NEVER bringing anything to this store again. I know of other shops that take everything and then donate the ones they can't sell to other orgs. (the Assistance League in Encinitas as an example)... will be going there from now on. read more

If you are more of a boutique thrift shopper, this particular Goodwill is for you. Small store curated by color, predominately home decor and books - all in very nice condition and correspondingly a bit higher priced than your typical messier treasure hunt Goodwill. I bought 2 nice current paperbacks today for $3.99 each - much cheaper than the $16.99 I just saw at Barnes & Noble - but higher priced if you're used to getting used books for $1-$2. They did have signs that their mass market paperbacks are now $1.99. Not many clothes, shoes or men's. Lots of jewelry in the case but I don't shop for that so can't comment on the type/quality. read more

Don't waste your time donating to this location. They will pick through your donations and make it a real big deal to drop anything off. Complete waste of time. There are plenty of other donation centers that are more accommodating. read more

This place is like an actual bookstore. Well curated books that's fun to go thru and at a great price versus paying full price that can add up when you love reading. There is a childrens section but is smaller compared to the eastlake location. read more

I decided to load up my car the night before and take my stuff to Goodwill after work. I was pleased to discover that it was on my way home from work. However, you will have to do some fancy driving and u-turns to actually discover the drop off location. This place is surrounded by medians, busy streets and long red lights. Also Apple Map kept telling me it's actual location was over by the 24hour fitness. Once you finally locate the drop off location everything becomes a breeze. The woman that greeted me was very pleasant and offered me a receipt for my donation, she helped me carry the items out of my car, and was very well organized. I usually drop off my donations at local mom and pop spots, never good will, so I was amazed at how clean and organized the donation drop off spot was. It a neat freaks dream. I would highly recommend donating to this good will and any good will. read more

This place is located next to the Wells Fargo that I regularly visit. I went in there just to check it out and I must say the store isn't as bad as I thought it would be. When you go in there's actually a decent selection of books. Additionally they give 10%discount to military, students and ppl over 55 (trying to avoid the word senior). Although I intended not to buy anything I ended up getting 3 books (the Divergent series) for 8 bucks using the discount. Not bad considering the books are like new. I may come back later as there are lots of awesome holiday decoration items! read more

So moving to Colorado via shipping of boxes meant getting rid of a lot of stuff. I think all said we made 4 trips here. The workers were very helpful and friendly. Now I will point out that I am visually impaired and sometimes people tend to go above and beyond they're normal level of service. So I cannot say if this was the case or not. But, that being said, these people were friendly and helpful. They helped us carry everything out of the back of the car and I couldn't have asked for a better experience. A great way to say goodbye to San Marcos! Thanks guys! read more

This is directed specifically at the drop-off area, not the actual store: I've come by to drop off a couple bags of donations a few times within the last year, and each time encountered a different, very rude and unhelpful attendant. I understand that these employees are people who are getting a "second chance" at having a legal job, but jeez...at least try not to act like you're working in the prison chow hall. The most recent time I was there, I was yelled at in a rude tone by the attendant that they were closed, even though the partially-full bins were still out and he was just standing there doing nothing. I had one medium-sized bag of donations. Also, it was 3:00 on a Monday afternoon. If you're going to have ridiculous hours and close that early, at least post a sign or something (pre-COVID closing time was 7 pm, I think). I can't believe I'm ranting this much about a Goodwill drop off but the employees have been so consistently rude and have aggravated me one too many times . read more

I really enjoy this store. I come here all the time to buy books and half my collection is from here. I've been shopping here for about two years and I really enjoy the selection. I personally shop in the young adult section but they have many genres and popular titles. The only thing that bothers me is that sometimes the pricing is a little weird and I'll pay more for a damaged paperback than I do for a perfect hardcover from the same series. Other than that, I'd say it's a very inexpensive used book store. read more
