I've gotten (and donated) so much great stuff here from high end China plates, trench coats, paintings and cute stuff for around the house. The service is also pretty good and the line moves at a decent pace when it's busy. read more

For A Goodwill it was standard to what I expect to see, I was grateful that things were organized by SIZE. (A friend told me she went to a Goodwill in a different part of the state that was completely organized by color. So, everything blue was in one spot, all clothes yellow were together regardless if xs or a plus size. Not Good.) Again, I was glad that everything was organized by size, and in a logical way. I went in there looking for ugly Christmas sweaters for a Party; no luck. This location was very picked-over at this time of year regarding the ironically ugly christmas sweaters. I was however, able to be creative and find two that would work for me and my friend. Even though I didn't quite find what I was looking for in the specific sweater area, I did find 3 other awesome finds that were perfect, well-priced and I wasn't even looking for them initially, but they were nice gems to find in the treasure hunt! All the staff was really helpful, courteous and really friendly. PRobably the best customer service I have had at any good will location. read more

This is the superstore closest to my home and South Salem is considered one of Salem's better neighborhoods. I think it gets trade and donations from the communities out Jefferson and Scio way. I've been in often. They have never refused my many donations. I found a pair of Filson pants that would have cost $300 new and consider the clothing section to deserve regular searching. The book selection is quite small. In housewares I have been able to find replacement lids and various handy kitchen oddments. No episodes of difficult staff. read more

After visiting two Goodwill stores in the Portland area this one is a dump, everything is just thrown on the shelves and not organized. The ones we go to in the Portland area everything is organized and clean. We will still come in here but prefer the ones in Portland when we are up there. read more

I remember when Goodwill was fun to shop at. It used to be that one could dig through the racks of clothing and find amazing articles for dirt cheap. That's the point, right? I mean, Goodwill gets all this junk for free, so no matter what price they slap on it, they've come up. Not anymore. The last few times I stepped foot in here I noticed two things: One, the place was trashed and crowded and two, their prices have jumped to the point that it makes no sense, financially, to purchase used clothing when one could just as easily head to the clearance rack at any clothing store and do just as well. Goodwill, like Wal Mart, has their market targeted. People think they're still getting a good deal just because they once did, and will continue to shop here for dead person clothes and dumpy furniture because somewhere, in the bad of their minds, they still believe $20 for a pair of used pants is a good deal. I try to stop at this Goodwill location once every week or two. The staff is always super kind and helpful, even when they're really busy. I have to wear super supportive shoes and often find Dansko clogs for about $30 in great condition. This has saved my family so much money! We have also purchased shoes and clothes for the whole family, cups and glasses, house decor, dog and cat food dishes and blankets/sheets here. I am picky about brands and conditions. Provided you're buying name brand clothing/products and looking for good condition items you can easily save 50%-75% off of retail. read more

I came at eight am to this location saw a larger women with a bob sweeping outside. There was lots of stuff in front of the donation door; broken chair, dirty mattress etc. so I drove up to the donation doors and started putting things besides all the other stuff that was already there and then I hear the women yell "you know I'm going to have to clean all of that up" and I said "uh none of this is mine" to which she responded "yeah I know but you're adding to it" So I grabbed my two pillows back and said "well now you won't have to clean up my two things" as I shut the car door and walked to the driver side she yells "we open at ten" how are you that rude at eight am lol I was mostly shocked because they advertise how welcome they are to donations. When I came back at ten there was cones and a sign saying they open at ten, which was a lot more helpful than a rude lady yelling from the parking lot. read more

Goodwill is what it is...they have a formula and they stick with it to the letter. I've been in many Goodwill stores and this one is the same layout, same type of goods, same pricing (which is getting higher all the time for a thrift store). This store, however, was very messy the day we stopped in--especially the toy/game aisle--looked like a bomb went off over there. Very hazardous and just ridiculous to allow that much stuff to be all over the floor! The restrooms needed cleaning, the drinking fountains were out-of-order (and covered up with 3-4 blankets obviously snagged from the merchandise stock, what's up with that?). The staff were average and that's not saying much since it is what it is. read more

This place would be pretty nice if the staff wasn't so awful. They spend most of their time pulling items with that week's sale color off the floor, shooting the sh*t with eachother, or just generally ambling around with zero urgency whatsoever, even if the checkout line is 15 deep. There can be some cool stuff to find, but dealing with the store itself is a huge drag. read more

I cant stand Goodwill anymore! The stuff that gets DONATED to them they turn around and sell it for 3 times what it's worth. I was looking for a small night stand, nothing fancy. And they have cheap horrible furniture priced so high! The fake wood stuff marked at $30 for a night stand, I can buy that new at walmart for less. read more

I was shopping with my 6 year old and my 1 year old. After trying to sit my 1 year old in the seat buckled and her squirming out and also me trying to hold her and her pushing away from me wanting down I finally just put her in the basket. She was happy in there and of course I'm watching her the whole time marking sure she doesn't get hurt. I obviously have seen the warning on the seats and in all carts. It says not to do that. But guess what I'm the mom. One of the employees in the store told me that having my child in the basket was not allowed, she either needed to be in the seat or held my me. Seriously? I even explained my situation and she just said sorry. No. You are not going to tell me what I can and can't do with my child. We use to go to this goodwill regularly. I don't see us going back anytime soon. read more

Usually this particular Goodwill has a great selection and is clean. My last visit here, though, was atrocious!! The place was thrashed!!! I could not get through the aisles without bumping into or running over something. I also found spiders crawling on the clothes I was scanning through. Ewww!! I hope they get this cleaned up and back to what it once was before it looked like the TV show "Hoarders" was needing to film an episode. read more

We came to this location after hearing they had Funko Pop figurines, couldn't beat the .99 price on them. We added 4 to our collection. My son scored Call of Duty Ghosts for 2.99 so he was pretty excited. They also have a good price on canning jars of your into canning. read more

My favorite Goodwill in Salem! Out of all the ones there, it is always the cleanest. Sometimes it's busy but they seem to have the best selection they keep things nice there. They often have the same employees, and it's nice to see familiar faces. Their prices tend to be better then the other Goodwills in Salem. read more

I go to the Goodwill to get quality used goods at a low price. But not here. At least not consistently. For instance, I saw a Pyrex pie plate at $3.99. I checked and I could buy it brand new for the same price from Pyrex, and get half off a second one. So I have to be careful when I shop at this Goodwill. Their prices are not always a deal. read more

What a joke!!! I show up to drop off a donation and notice a huge line of people waiting, in their cars to drop off. So I decide I don't need any help unloading and I can carry my stuff to the door and just add to their bin. I'm thinking that I'm helping them out. NO!!!! Sorry, I'm not one of the 7 cars in line with lazy people inside. I didn't need or want a receipt. I was helping out and didn't have time to wait. Will NEVER give my stuff to them again!!!! Don't get me wrong, but i understand the purpose is to raise money for whatever charitable cause. But the majority of the junk they have is marked up items from the dollar store. Maybe I wouldn't be so cynical if I hadn't brought my "treasure" home only to find beneath my $3.99 price tag is the original dollar tree price tag.... Grr. Rarely do I find something that I could consider a bargain, with the exception of the weekly "50% colored tags".... That is my weakness, keeps me coming back..
