It was sad to see the other recent negative reviews and I wasn't able to feel the exact same way…read moreuntil I just went. I used to enjoy coming here to shop--what happened? The cashier (taller guy, long hair--receipt says Corey/Cotey?) was very unfriendly in his tone throughout the checkout process and at the very end proceeds to ask, "what's in that?" Accusing me of stealing items, and justified his Q by saying, "it happens." It was a lunch box with snacks for my son as we shopped. I wouldn't have given much thought to either of these interactions on their own, but because the whole experience was negative, I feel the need to share it. It was also strange when I went last Friday at 10 am and the doors were closed. Phone went straight to static. A lot of people walked up to locked doors and were confused as to why there wasn't a sign stating they were closed. A woman told me that she had a lot of valuables to donate and will be going elsewhere. Sad! I hope someone will see these reviews and actually make changes, rather than just respond to the review itself. Unfortunately, I won't be coming back to shop or donate anytime soon. I will continue going to St. Vincent de Paul, where I've had nothing but a great experience and interacted with only kind employees/volunteers.

For one, the store is a mess now: can't find any thing of use without wandering around forever--and getting any help? Forget it! The staff there now is either too busy on their phones, or arguing with each other--or maybe it was another customer. Not really sure, but I finally just left without buying anything. But I really liked the work they were doing to save our local furry friends from misery or worse! Too bad they let this place go down the tubes. Get her back!! At whatever the cost!!!

Just an update about one of the programs offered by The Salvation Army in Prescott, AZ. The winter…read morewarmup program usually begins in early November. The program provides a safe and warm place for homeless men. A meal is also provided for men and women. After the meal, the women are transported to other shelters. However, the bathrooms and showers provided for the clients have been shut down since June. The culprit is a mold issue. That's 5 months. Here it is Oct. 3rd and still the issue has not been fully resolved. A house can be built in 5 months! That's a chilling example(yes, that's a pun) of how poorly management runs the operation. The washing machine and dryer are key to the successful operation of the program. The are also unavailable due to the existing mold problem. Will the program start on time? Good question. There is space for 30-35 clients that will end up being left out in the cold if they don't. I would recommend you contact the office at 928-778-0150. Thank you

Either there is a super secret entrance that I didn't find or the just were not open. Kind of disappointing to drive all the way from Cordes Lakes to Prescott and find them closed. Plenty of folks lined up along the walkway not sure if they were all there because they expected it to be open. Some had their belongings with them which caused me to speculate that they likely are experiencing homelessness. I do hope they are getting the services they need from both Salvation Army and the City of Prescott. Not sure I'd bother to make the trip again despite my desire to support this organization.

While visiting Arizona, I came here with my husband and a friend who is local to the area. Because…read moreI had forgotten to pack my brand new snow boots (I know...), my husband's friend suggested that we check out Goodwill to see if I can find anything. But she did warn us that this locations often times inflate their prices, in which she nicknamed "greed-will". The day we arrived, it was snowing and a little windy. Definitely a cold winter day and not the best idea to forget your snow boots at home, in California. Anyways, with any thrift store, you just have to look and see if you find anything good or anything you are looking for in particular. There was a nice pair of black snow boots with little wear on it but was surprised to find that the pair was $25 at the register, as the item was not marked. I paid less for my new boots that I had purchased online (and my shoes were even thicker quality). But my friend did get a 20% off since she is a senior citizen so we were able to get a slight discount to save a little bit off (although later on I found out that there was a hole on the soul and really should have gone to purchase brand new show shoes... oh well, lesson learned... don't leave your snow shoes at home while on a road trip, during winter). We did purchase other items, which did seem better priced. So I am not sure what is the mindset of the prices marked in the store. Some toys and books that I saw were brand new and priced very cheaply (which I did ended up purchasing a few things) and then some items, like clothes were heavily marked up when clearly those items were worn. But just as my friend had told us, she has found plenty of great stuff at this Goodwill before and will often browse. And if she finds something that she wants, and if it is at a good price, she will purchase it. I think if we lived in this area, most likely I would come back to browse since I do like to thrift for my DIY projects from time to time. Please note that on the receipt, there is a 7 day return policy. But customers will only receive store credit that is good for up to one year, based on the date printed on the original receipt. If you return items without the purchase receipt or tag attached, you will only receive $1. Also returns are not accepted on discounted items, new or seasonal items. So purchase wisely.
