A little overcrowded but that's expected. Very unkind people that go in here, but the staff themselves are fairly kind.. most of the time. Regardless, I enjoy going to the By-The-Pound Goodwill and seeing what fun treasures I can find. The selection of anything and everything is huge and for a great price always! i recently moved to the area and all of the Goodwill's around here are way to proud of their merch....it is expensive. But I went into this "outlet". wtf i got 4 throw pillows that had prices of 4.99 - 7.99 each. i was chatting and not paying attention when i went out the door then i looked at my receipt $27.00. even if all 4 had the 7.99 price tag that would have been $31. i need to find different thrift store cuz the Goodwills in Washington are out of control on their pricing. read more

The people and employees are scary sometimes and you have to really pay attention to your surroundings due to the constant moving bins and hustling people but the stuff is good quality, there's lots of different things, good clothes and good little nicks and nacks even the furniture is a good selection. I love that everything is sold by the pound with a few exceptions, when i go to other stores its hard to buy things there since it seems SO much more expensive lol. you have to be careful though because if you get a heavy item that's "meh" quality it might be worth a fortune and better just to buy one brand new. worth bringing gloves. you can get an overflowing cart for barely over $100 bucks. read more

This review is based STRICTLY on my experience dropping off a giant broken-down office printer / copier / fax machine for electronic recycling. Didn't know that was possible? Neither did I until I started researching. Many Goodwill locations accept electronic waste for recycling, and doing so here couldn't have been easier. All I had to do was pull up to the donation lane (right ahead of you as you pull into the parking lot from the street), ask the friendly person how I go about dropping off said item, and he took it right there on the spot. Ingress and egress were very easy, and the parking lot layout is very logically set up for those dropping items off as well as for those parking and shopping there. read more

I was really disappointed when I recently visited this Goodwill outlet. There was a disabled woman shopping with her daughter. They were not wearing a masks. An employee came up and said you have to wear a mask and the daughter explained that the mother was deaf and needed to be able to see her face, her mouth in order to communicate. The employee, I assume the manager, said that they are not required to allow special accommodations and if they would have to put on a mask or leave. The mother seemed very embarrassed, and the daughter seemed fairly angry. I overheard the daughter say I thought Goodwill was supposed to support people with disabilities.. read more

There's a manager at this goodwill named Mike. He's the only reason why I gave this location one star. I've spoken to a couple of employees there and they states they believe he's a racist. I've watched how he's responds to "none" colored people compared to how he responds to people of color. I asked for help the other day and he rolled his eyes. One of the other employee there caught it and smirked at me. Times that I had to sign the slip when purchasing a item such as furniture he's made me put an extra signature on there. When I've signed it with other employees they've told me that it's unnecessary and they don't require signatures there anymore. When I walk in the building he turns his back and avoids any eye contact. Every now and then I'll catch him peeking at me. He dresses really sloppy and doesn't seem professional. It's nothing personal against him but I'm really uncomfortable around him. I watched him go into the parking lot last week and I made sure that he didn't go near my truck. I pray to God that he transfers to another location or learn how to treat people and carry himself with more respect and dignity. read more

I'm sure you've heard horror stores of the Goodwill Bins. Well friends, this is where the deals are at! That is, if you are prepared to hold your breath, dig, push, throw and do some quick grabbing. From the parking lot you can smell the stench of leftover thrift store items, and a touch of hobo. Inside you'll see people letting loose on new bins doing whatever it takes to get what they want. But it gets better... Pay per pound! And it gets cheaper the more you buy (yes, once we got a bowling ball, because it would push us up to the next price level, and therefore make the total cheaper) So gather up your friends, fill a shopping cart, and take pride in buying 50 pounds of junk. My rules of thumb is if it smells gross avoid it, is finding a dirty dipper really worth maybe finding that Dooney and Bourke all weather satchel? (well, yes it probably is). Don't make eye contact with anyone for too long, also don't eye their cart, you might get shanked. Wear clothing that you can easily try other clothing on over the top. Don't count on the bathrooms being a place where you can wash the filth off your hands, they are usually more disgusting than the bins. Don't be surprised if you see a woman changing a baby on a table in the back. Look out for great furniture at good prices. You will find tons of holiday items. The occasional american apparel tee, and lots of other brand names. But be weary of the re-sellers who will do anything for something that might be of value. You've been warned. read more

The goodwill outlet is where all the unwanted stuff from the stores go to die. If you don't like clutter and the stale smell of old everything, you will def hate this place. But if you're like me and love to hunt for good deals, this is the place for you. You can't go wrong w things sold by the pound - its cheaper the more you buy. Think it's only $.89/lb once you hit 25lbs It's just loads of stuff dumped into bins - separated somewhat into categories of clothes, linens, books, toys and just random junk. You really really have to be in the mood to literally dig in. I'm not a germaphobe but I suggest bringing latex gloves. I'll be honest, it's a LOT of crap with just a few good things sprinkled in. One of the reasons things don't sell at goodwill is their ridiculously high pricing, so it's not necessarily there because it sucks. They also had some decent furniture for cheap (set price not by weight). I went specifically for blankets and comforters for moving pads to protect my furniture during the move. Comforters were $12 each at salvation army, but I got 5 thick but fugly prints for $25 buying it by the pound. They served their purpose. I was here for a purpose so didn't really browse much, but the outlet in Hillsboro seemed way better as far as quality stuff. I only found a Disney princess play tent and a cute Hello Kitty shirt here, but I got North Face and Columbia jackets in Hillsboro, a Columbia sweater w rabbit trim hood and a bunch of other great stuff. That old saying "You get what you pay for" doesn't apply at the Goodwill Outlet. Paying by the pound means you're able to walk away with a lot of stuff for little money. Yesterday I scored 3 reclaimed canvases, 4 clothing items from Forever 21, a hardcover book, and 2 yards of fabric for $13. The book alone would have cost me at least $10 at Powell's. It's not all good though, to find these hidden treasures, you must first sift through piles of clothing, old books, VHS tapes, stained pillows, and smelly comforters. I suggest wearing gloves, and waiting to fit with your hair until after hand washing has taken place- maybe that's just me with a lice paranoia? Donations come from all different places, and bins are swapped out every other hour or so. I recommend going at least twice, because some days are simply better than others. read more

Thrifting is in my blood. I am good at it I have an eye for detail and I spot vintage Beauties and I turn them into Retro , modern pieces that can be worn to work, Church, events, or even casually, but this Goodwill was offencive. The clothes were disgusting, nasty, dirty, and filthy. some look like they had feces on them. It was so disgusting that I didn't even want to touch anything. Just because it's a thrift store does not mean people who have and interest and thrifting do not have class, money, or educated. WE are not some homeless person rummaging through the garbage can looking for scraps. this should still be presentable. Here's where it goes before it's bundled up and recycled. You won't believe what you can find there. Thursdays are the least busy days. The bins are arranged around the store on the perimeter and in the aisles. There are still 'designer' and brand name items with hang tags at times. You pay by the pound. The more you buy the less you pay. My granddaughter's and I love to hit this place before we go 'high end' on the price scale. If you are creative . . . you can put together some awesome outfits. You would never know that my the g-daugs dress for less. One minor complaint, not the store's fault. Some customers are very AGGRESSIVE. Hey, let them have it. It's just stuff. Used store owners can be found there stocking up on 'goodies'. Get over there at least once a month. You could go every day and still find great treasures. For what it is, you can get some great deals here. If you aren't careful, you could also end up spending more on something than it is actually worth. They charge by the pound so if it's a crappy item but it weighs a lot, you will pay a fortune for it. As a schoolteacher though, I love that the children's books are only $.25. Another downside is it's $1.69 a pound for the first 25 pounds. At about the 15 pound mark, it costs more than 25 pounds resulting in putting unwanted items in your cart so you pay less. read more

This is a Goodwill Outlet in Vancouver. Yes, it's in the Couv, and it's a bit smaller than the Milwaukee store, but also much less crowded. Imagine sifting through new bins without fearing the loss of your fingers. Just imagine that my friends, because it is a beautiful thing. I find a lot of stuff here with new tags, but also a lot of vintage 1998 covered in cat hair. Your mileage may vary. Goodwill Outlet primer: The Goodwill Outlet is a magical place where clothes and assorted items make their last stands before being sold to ruthless third world clothing traders and shipped overseas, sent to become eco house insulation, or hauled off to landfills. Basically, there are a bunch of largish waist high blue bins filled with clothes and any number of things. Your duty is to sort through these things before paying by the pound for your goodies. At $1.59 a pound, it's pretty much the cheapest way to outfit yourself. Items you might find at the Goodwill Outlet include family photos covered in dirt from an upended pot nearby, dirty underwear, soiled sheets, and nice cashmere sweaters. Actually, a lot of the nicer Goodwill clothes end up at the outlets as a consequence of being priced too high at the thrift store. You just might have to search a while before finding anything that fits you, and you will probably have to attack the thing with a sweater shaver before it looks presentable. When new bins come out, watch out! You don't want to lose any digits from mad professionals scooping armloads of shit into their carts. I live very close to this Goodwill Outlet and must say that the first time I went there, I did not care for it at all. The bins, the digging, the mess, the grabby, RUDE people! UGH! It did not feel like my cup of tea. Wellllll sometime later, I decided to go back again and see if I felt differently....and this I can say with certainty, I do like the store, but must be in a bin-digging, messy, grabby sort of mood! Because when I am, watch out! I usually always try to get to the required weight for the lowest possible by-the-pound rate, which currently is at $0.89. This does not include books, electronics or furniture. Those items are individually priced and I rarely buy any of that stuff. I have been consistently pleased with what I have found and usually go home with lots of cute clothes (some with original tags!) for myself and the 4 yo I sometimes babysit. I have found candles, comforters, toys, rugs, holiday decorations, etc. Some lucky finds were two really nice wooden, folding lounge chairs with the pads intact, a brand new outdoor fountain still in the box, like new pink big wheel, brand new child's pink ball mitt, brand new curling iron (really happy about this since that day I had dropped mine and it shattered). With that being said, I have also come across some icky things that I will not go into details over and lots of broken stuff as well as empty boxes or board games with the game pieces spread out over several bins! Can't help thinking a little bit of tape would end that problem! I can only take the chaos of this type of bin shopping for so long before I just feel I need to get the heck out of there and home to take a shower. Everything is immediately washed before using too! But I am always really happy with what I paid and I cannot say that about the regular Goodwill stores. The workers periodically change out the bins. I am not sure how they decide to rotate the bins but I have been told to step back from a bin that was quite full, to see it taken away and another put in it's place. Meanwhile, there are several skimpy bins with nothing but broken or worthless items still about on the floor. I feel very confused when this happens. Bin changing happens constantly and it is done with loud announcing as well....imagine the guards yelling out "Dead man walking the Green Mile" from the Tom Hanks movie. It's kind of like that. A major thing I do not like about this store is if you happen to stop in 1.5 hours before closing, it is around that time the employees start getting ants in their pants about getting everyone checked out so they can go home. I swear every 5 minutes, someone (they ALL take turns) will turn on the mic and start announcing the time and how long before they are closing and that we should start taking our carts up to be checked out. This would be fine if they would do this say starting 30 minutes or so before closing but it is unacceptable to do this 90 minutes before the store closes. All of this constant LOUD announcing gets on my nerves. Note: Checking procedures consists of pushing cart onto scale, calculating weight and paying! You bag your own stuff into plastic bags or boxes as well so it is not like they have regular check out duties that require getting everyone in line hours before closing time! It is rude and it needs to stop! To sum up, the rules to best apply are: Do not go there anywhere near closing time or you will regret it! Be sure to be in the mood required for this "special" kind of shopping (digging?) and be prepared to get dusty and maybe a little disgusted! Wear gloves, find treasures and have fun!!!! read more

This place sucks. I went here like last year once. It's out in nowhere. It was hard to find the place and then when I finally park and got inside I looked around for about a couple minutes. They used to have one of these bin places in the same building as the regular Goodwill on Fourth Plain. I didn't know it existed until I parked around the side one time and saw people walking out with purchases. Anyway this place has nothing of any value. The bins are not like I've seen in the photos of Oregon locations. None of the bins were full. There were only 1 or 2 people at most to a bin. It was just a bunch of junk clothes, cables, random toys and stuff like that. Like the regular Goodwill but with almost a 100% chance of finding nothing and wasting your time. I decided after walking in and looking thru a bin or two that I didn't want to waste my time. I am not this poor that I need to go through the torment of this place. The people looking at stuff all looked very low class. The place just seemed so sad. Never going back here. Once was enough. (I read the reviews on other Goodwill outlets and no one really commented at finding anything good at one of these Bins places which leads me to believe even more that they are a waste of time.) read more

I love this place. You really just have to know what you're getting yourself into before you go. Wear gloves for sure and maybe long sleeves as well. There are lots of bins so you have to put the work in. 90% of it will be crap to you but that 10% is what you are looking for. I have found some amazing things for the price (goes by lbs. For most things) but you just have to be willing to sift through some gross smelling and/or feeling things to find them. Just go in with a plan, stick your head down and dig. STUDY THIS STORE PICTURE CLOSELY SOUTHERN WEST COASTERS! Why the hell we dont have stores like these is totally beyond me. They have giant floor scales that are zeroed out to the weight of a cart and then you just kinda go from the price per pound list. Never in my life have i been anywhere where clothing leather and basically anything material for your home was sold in such huge quantity. Theyve got it all and ya its in different price ranges (glass 59 cents a pound, cloth 20 (DATED so dont take my word for it) but who gives a rats? This place is awesome. nuff said. read more
