One of the cleanest Goodwills we have seen. In fact, my hubby stated that it didn't "smell" like a Goodwill, if that makes any sense. Their clothes were all in great shape, and that means of course, my girls went on a rampage. We taught them at an early age that instead of buying one trendy outfit in the mall, five outfits could be had in the thrift stores. And when they're done with them, the outfits get re-donated. When we leisure travel, Goodwill is always on our itinerary. And this one is one of the better ones we've been to. read more

Let me 1st say that my family and I are regular customers here when we come to town and absolutley have LOVED shopping here but they have had a policy change. When, and only when, this policy changes will I adjust my review and rating. Here is the email I sent to their corporate offices: Just to let you know that the Goodwill in Ponderay, Idaho has a new policy in which they are requiring ID when even using a debit card WITH A PIN!!! This is not legal to REQUIRE an ID with a debit card when using a PIN. Also, this is ABSOLUTELY against Visa and Mastercard policy. If this policy doesn't stop IMMEDIATELY I will file complaints with the FTC, Visa, Mastercard as well as with the city of Sandpoint and Ponderay. This review is solely based on an interaction we had with the manager. We were checking out and had two items that were the same. One was marked at 1.99 and one was unmarked. The cashier (who I feel sorry for) was checking us out and put the marked item in our bag. She called for a price check when she found the marked item. The manager came over and said 3.99. We told her the other was was marked at 1.99. She said "give it to me and I'll just reprice it", walked away and slammed the door. INCREDIBLY RUDE. Julie, get some people skills. read more

As Thriftshops go, this one gets five stars for great prices and awesome customer service. My elderly mom needed a dining room table and we found a solid wood table (with two leaves to make it bigger for guests) plus four perfectly good matching wooden chairs- all for $50. Earlier, we saw similar sets for $100-200 on Craigslist but they'd been sold, so we tried Goodwill. Not only a great price for a quality table but they carried the table and chairs out to my mom's car. Very thoughtful! Highly recommend! read more

We have been repeatedly talked down to and treated rudely by Jennifer. I rarely see her at a register but every time she is she's unbelievably uncouth and just plain nasty. I understand people are entitled to have bad days but every time? Unbelievably terrible customer service. Jennifer needs to retire or find another job. read more

I had a HORRIBLE incident at your location in Ponderay, Idaho, on Larkspur 83852. I went in there looking at some coats and jackets. I am a regular at this location. I was in and out of the dressing rooms multiple times trying things on and had narrowed down what I wanted. when I arrived at the register, I couldn't help but notice almost all the employees were standing before me. The manager refused to let me purchase my items unless I opened my purse and proved to her I wasn't stealing. The way the situation was approached was so unprofessional... I felt like they were ganging up on me and I had everyone's attention in the entire store. It seemed as though the manager was gossiping with her coworkers and was trying to make an impression. Almost like an intimidation factor. I am a very reserved person. I am conservative. I believe in people's privacy. I didn't feel compelled to empty out my purse in front of the entire store. So I slowly put my items down and told her "No thank you then. I come in here all the time. if you can explain to me what evidence you have against me then inform law enforcement and I will gladly cooperate with them. BUT I will not be called a theif and obviously my business is not wanted here so I'll be leaving." She then tried exclaiming that the sweater I was wearing was stolen and had tags on it. My fiancé, who was behind me in line, then spoke up and told her he had ironed my sweater earlier that day. Furiated I turned my sweater almost completely inside out to show her. She then scoffed and said I took the tags off. She also tried claiming that when she recieved a "tip" from an ANONYMOUS person that I was shoplifting that she went into the office and started watching surveillance. Which is ironic, because like I've stated, I am a regular and very well know who the manager is. I also know throughout my visit, I kept bumping into her while I was shopping and made small talk with her. But she's claiming she was in the office the whole time? Another thing that confused me is.. if she was watching cameras, wouldn't she know that this is the sweater I walked INTO the store with? It seems to me that she needs to recheck surveillance and owes me an apology when she sees what is so blatantly in front of her. Instead of arguing, i continued to exit the store and waited outside in the parking lot. My fiance came out of the store 10 minutes later, pissed as hell. The employees and the manager had continued to gang up on my fiance after I had left. asking him if he was going to have a talk with me and what he thought about me stealing from her store. He went off on them ensuring I wasn't a theif but that they had lost a lot of business over some foolishness and a big misunderstanding. The manager told me I was no longer welcome at that Goodwill. And I was willing to cooperate with that because I was so upset with them accusing me of shoplifting. however, I never got any further notification about the situation. No law enforcement got a hold of me. but here's what did happen...the manager got ahold of my boss's girlfriend in attempt to make a bad name for me. I am going to guess she wanted me to get fired. My boss luckily knows me really well and didn't take much consideration into what she said. But I was the general manager of a local place for almost 2 years and am assistant manager currently. i have done management training and through experience, i know this is how things SHOULDN'T be dealt with. However if she was following company policy maybe this whole thing wouldn't have happened. If she had approached me privately and brought me into her office, I might have agreed.or perhaps detained me like most companies do. But instead blasted me in front of the entire store. I know most stores wait until suspected shoplifter is out of the building because all chances to pay for merchandise have been passed up. I also know most places have HARD EVIDENCE like surveillance footage of someone shoving merchandise in their purse or pockets before making accusations like so. read more
