I looked at her and told her that my daughter was just excited and that she is Autistic and doesn't understand. To which she replied, "Oh." Then rolled her eyes. As she followed me through the store, she kept asking me if she could help me find something specific. By her tone and demeanor, I knew she wasn't being genuine she just wanted us out of her store. I told her no that we were fine which she then told me to make sure my kids didn't touch anything. I looked at her and said "You do know that this is a toy store, right?" She said "Well, yes but what we tell everyone is not to touch because we're a small store and we opened this up ourselves." By her comment, it was clear that she had run-ins with other customers. I told her politely that maybe the owners should've thought about that when they decided to open a toy store for goodness sake, like children aren't going to want to touch. I will never go back to that store. I grabbed the $50 worth of toys that my kids were planning on purchasing and I put them back on the shelves and I told her that we would never be back and that we would make sure to tell all of our mommy friends about her attitude and our experience. She was so incredibly rude to myself and my children (who were not monkey's by the way, they were pretty well behaved for toddlers). They could've had a long term customer. Because of the needs of my children, I use a great deal of Melissa and Doug toys/Games/Activities to carry out their Speech Therapy and Occupational Therapy.
