As a former employee of Goodwill Great Plains in Brookings, SD, I witnessed a lot of troubling practices. Many donations, which could have benefitted the community, often ended up in the dumpster. Furthermore, the best items were frequently picked up by managers or team leaders, rather than being made available to the public. This undermines the mission of Goodwill and is disappointing for donors who intend their contributions to help those in need.
As a customer, the store is extremely disorganized and dirty. Items are scattered haphazardly, making it difficult to find anything. The store often feels neglected, with little effort put into maintaining a clean and inviting environment. The staff, possibly due to poor management, often seem indifferent or overwhelmed, providing a subpar customer service experience. It's disheartening to see such a lack of care and management from both an employee and customer perspective.
