I purchased two purple pillows ($239.99 each) and was not told up front by the salesperson, Fred,…read morethat they had a LATEX core. We were, also, not told up front that they were not returnable, which I should have asked about in the first place, in case the loft of the pillows was not appropriate for my neck. One pillow was left unopened in the box, and the pillow I chose to try out has a defect in the purple grid. I let the pillow air out for almost a week in order to be able to sleep on it, due to the chemical smell. The morning after I slept on it, I had a blister and rash on my face, as well as, a severe headache and stuffed sinus. I went over the paperwork and discovered that the core of the pillow is LATEX, which, again, I should have either checked into first, or should have been told about up front. I contacted the store to share my story. The salesperson from whom I purchased the pillow was not in that day, but the man with whom I spoke assured me that they would take the "unopened" pillow back, but not the other pillow because it had been opened and used, even if it did have a defect. He would have the manager contact me. I would have to contact "Purple" regarding the defective pillow. I did just that. A Purple representative told me I had to deal directly with the store from which I purchased the pillows. If I had purchased the pillows through their store online, there would not be any problem, but being as I purchased them through a store, the store's policies took precedence. My husband then called the store to tell them "Purple" would not take back the defective pillow and to ask if they would let me exchange the defective pillow. The girl with whom he spoke said that she would have to check with the manager about the defective pillow, but assured my husband that they WOULD take back the unopened pillow. She would have the manager call us. This was the second time my husband and I had been told that the manager would contact us. We decided to drive the hour to the store, and the first thing we did upon arrival was to ask to see the manager, Kevin. We both explained the situation and he just kept saying "No, we won't take them back; It's our store policy." I stated that he might want to share with his employees that they might want to explain the policies to the customers at the time of sale. He came at me with, "Now, you're trying to tell me how to do my job." I explained that that was not the case. I stated that we were told we would receive a phone call from him, the manager two separate times, but never did, and that evidently there must be a problem with communication. That didn't sit very well with him, so I just said, "I'm done here," and started walking out the door. I don't find it helpful to engage in arguments. He was still yelling at me when we walked out the door. My recommendation is to purchase household furnishing from small town businesses or upscale businesses such as McGowans or places that treat their customers with gratitude and respect.

At casinos, people lose it all. At payday loans, they quickly owe more than they can pay back, aka usury, which is illegal. At pawn shops, they trade their possessions for a fraction of what they're worth. This EZ Pawn has a payday loan place attached so you can conveniently get your finances in a world of hurt. I was walking by, saw a guy walk out with a power cable, said hey, I need a power cable, but when I went in, they didn't have any. I took a look at the computers, all priced double what they're worth. Reminded myself to stay out of these sad places.

The one star rating is today February 1 2025 only. This store is us pretty good…read more So I was at Waterloo Harbor Freight this morning for a pre-arranged exchange. The employees have always been nice at a minimum. Today I was greeted by an unprofessional employee. She was angry because I lose my words sometimes since my stroke. On her third try asking for a receipt I asked her what part of no doesn't she understand? On her second attempt she abandoned me and went to the office pouting. Then came back for her 3rd try. She proceeded to make rude facial expressions from the time I walked. I asked for help moving the return from my truck inside. I said it was heavy but couldn't get the name to come out due to Aphasia. I told her the exchange product was labeled with my name. She continued to give me dirty looks. So I asked her if she was hungover or something because she was being a "bitch". She responded I don't drink. Then she made a performance of telling the normal young lady via radio that she didn't want to help me. So I loudly said to the other employee who was nearing the back of the store that I didn't want her help. The other 2 employees said you can't call someone that. I said "not only can I call her a bitch, I'll continue to call her one as long as she acts like one. I n the previous 6 weeks I've been in this store at least 3 times a week and never had an issue. A lady who identified herself as the manager said in an offensive tone that she would be calling the main manager today. I responded with go ahead he knows me and if he likes I'll give him a transcript of our conversation from my hearing aids. In loud places I turn on TTY so I can understand what is being said. This is a newer Maurices location right near the Target over near this new shopping district. It's…read morea pretty large store, and it offers a shoe area, multiple dressing rooms, a plus-sized area, and a regularly-sized area. It's bigger than most mall Maurice locations that I've seen. Maurices sizing goes from a size 0 all the way up to a size 24. Their plus-sized selection is smaller (about 1/4 of the store) compared to the regular sizes, but it's still quite a bit of clothing. Staff is really what makes this store. Staff is helpful without being pushy. They happily will open a fitting room for you, and they occasionally will check in and ask if they can help you find items. Lots of other people were taking advantage of that, and staff was helping them put together great outfits by making suggestions. They are really good about regularly using your name and making you feel like a valued customer. I was looking for a scarf in a different color, and the staff was really helpful. They looked it up on their own system, double-checked throughout the whole store when the system said they didn't have it, and then offered to call down to the Waterloo location and see if they had one for me. The entire experience was very friendly, and I always got the feeling that the staff genuinely was having an okay time working there and wanted to help. Price can be a bit high depending on the items. I'd recommend trying to take advantage of their sales; they regularly have discounts or "Buy One, Get One ___" sales which help lower the prices. They also offer a free rewards program that gives you a $5 credit for every $100 you spend, so that will you save a bit more money. Finding specific items can be a bit difficult, though, so you may need to ask for help. For example, their scarves are placed in multiple areas throughout the entire store, so it can make it hard to compare all scarves at once. However, with such helpful staff, it really isn't too hard to eventually find what you're looking for. Maurices has nice clothing, but what really makes this store is the staff. This is probably one of the best customer service experiences that I've had in awhile.

Thank you for not forgetting the big girls! They have plenty of selection in casual and dressy options. My one complaint is in the summer there are way too many sleeveless options and not enough short sleeve selection. I'm not allowed to wear sleeveless at work. They always have ample friendly staff ready to assist and get you a dressing room. The store is always clean and well stocked.
