i went to the mostly clothing focused thrift store yesterday with the primary motivation of…read moredropping off some clothes as a donation. the donation dropoff is as convenient as i've seen at any place, with the dropoff location being an open window with a ledge counter, on the northeast exterior of the store, with the window having been open every experience i've had visiting the store during operating hours. furthermore, having travelled a little out of the way to dropoff the donation, i'd decided to shop in the store while i was there. although i've been to the store before to browse for miscellaneous clothing, i looked with more intention yesterday for clothing from the specific brands featured at the retail store where i'm working. and though i did not find any clothes by the specific for which i'd searched, i found a couple good quality, decorative hats to give as gifts, as i've found a hat is a clothing item that serves as an appropriate gift when you are uncertain about the size your recipient wears. and lastly, as commentary to the overall quality and selection at the store, i'll say the selection is large and good quality, though leaning toward one of a kind, miscellaneous clothing, especially regarding shirts, rather than specific brands. and further, the store offers a variety of products alongside the clothing, including assorted household appliances, books, and home decor.

Apparently 24 hours notice was not enough time to cancel an appointment! The gal at the front desk clearly told me I was not invited back because I did not make a 48 hour cancellation notice After experiencing an emergency that was beyond and out of my control over the weekend. My appointment was on Tuesday! There was absolutely no understanding no forgiveness whether I am disabled which I am or not whether I'm young or elderly.. this 48 hour cancellation notice is absurd! Now I'm halfway through treatment I have to find some other dental program that will help fit my budget I am disabled on a strict income.. Dear Catholic Charities what do you suggest?

They host mobile food events and foster the return of permanent grocery stores and healthy food systems. Their monthly Community Events bring together partners, health resources, and have a pay-as-you-can model for fresh produce and prepared meals. They make it fun by having local DJs, food trucks, art classes, and more. They also have community gardens and teach an afterschool program in schools focused on teaching innovative urban farming systems, like hydroponics. I'm super excited for them to build their Food Home, which will be a community space with a market, urban farm, and food hub. If you're ever curious about checking this makers space out, they have tours every Saturday at 1pm. It's an amazing facility. The building opened in 2022 and it was made just for them so it's a huge upgrade from their previous location, where they were for 11 years. They now have an open floor plan with high ceilings and lots of natural light along with 20+ machines available. From laser cutters/engravers to water jets and 3D printers, the resources they offer are mind blowing. Fab Lab Tulsa is one of 1500+ MIT-chartered Fab Labs in 90+ countries and the first in the southeastern region of the U.S. (that's right, not even Dallas has one). Aside from the studio on the first floor, they have a metal lab and a wood lab, each with 10+ machines available. Both labs have a minimum age and require PPE to be worn at all times. The second floor has classrooms and a conference room. They have a membership model with lots of options depending on how many hours per month you'd like to have as well as what room. The pricing starts at $39 a month, which sounds like an incredible deal since you get to use machines that are $30-60k. Classes are also available for signup on their website along with education programming for kids. They have a couple of workforce initiatives as well. This is a huge asset in our community!
