Its vision is to break the cycle of poverty. Their two-generation approach combines high quality education with innovative family services and resources. They offer programs to parents that increase their skills, employability and earning potential. CAP is nationally recognized as a model for this method. CAP is one of the largest anti-poverty agencies in Oklahoma. They believe every family and child deserves the same opportunity for success. They accomplish this by empowering low-income families with education, tools, support and guidance they need to break the cycle of poverty. As an employer, The Nonprofit Times named CAP as one of the "Best Places to Work" in 2016. This is the second consecutive year it has made the list. It ranked 19 overall and 3rd in the list of Large Nonprofits. I have worked here for half a year and I absolutely love it. The leadership is inspiring and receptive, the work environment is the best I've ever had and the actual services we provide are invaluable in our community.

Taylor Hanson started it in 2014 after being inspired by U.N. Ambassador Edward J. They host mobile food events and foster the return of permanent grocery stores and healthy food systems. Their monthly Community Events bring together partners, health resources, and have a pay-as-you-can model for fresh produce and prepared meals. They make it fun by having local DJs, food trucks, art classes, and more. They also have community gardens and teach an afterschool program in schools focused on teaching innovative urban farming systems, like hydroponics. I'm super excited for them to build their Food Home, which will be a community space with a market, urban farm, and food hub. I learn so much about the importance of micro greens and sustainable food practices from them.
