Purging, recycling, donating, and reusing in Ewa Beach, Oahu, Hawaii…read more.. In an attempt to place all GreenDrop locations on the Yelp map, I drove way out to this pod... This smaller donation site is stationed in the shared parking lot with Kentucky Fried Chicken, GreenDrop was occupied by a lone female. She was a bit pensive, so I asked if I needed to give her my phone number. She picked up the tablet and said she had to restart it. Hmmm... Eventually, I gave her my phone number where I received an email with the receipt. I can print it out later. There are other GreenDrop locations to discover... it's for a good cause. This Ewa Beach location has United Cerebral Palsy on the side of this pod.

Not sure if the staff went on break or if it was closed for the due to staffing shortage there was no indication for the reason of the closure as it's Sunday 12:58...sigh! Well this Green Drop location is in the lot of Ewa Pointe Marketplace where KFC is the most visible tenant from the street. Not sure when I'll be back in the area again but know that this is a convenient location to conveniently drop off your items at your convenience with lots of free parking. Thank you!

Letting go of my treasures…read more.. As shopping at your local Goodwill you'll find some other's treasure. There comes a moment when I just need to purge to make room and create a relaxing space as though certainly not unwanted but items that has long been useful or needed and is in my opinion great items that hopefully will find home versus the landfill especially at reasonable cost. As the holiday seasons are slowly approaching is obvious with a section filled with Halloween decor and such items are a one time use it's nice to find price friendly deals. This Kapolei location is located on a road behind Costco amongst many industrial buildings and seems to be sharing the same lot with a school but since it was on a Sunday the parking lot was empty though filled with shoppers as many come here to shop and the donation drop off is the building right beside the store and is a very easy drop as a staff came up to me to help with the items. I had to give the shop a peek and see what they have and did find a small item that interested me and at the bargain price of $3.99 was amazing and will go into great use. Lots of clothing and seasonal items displayed making a great place to find options that are price friendly. Thank you!

Great location tucked off the main roadway in Kapolei. Big parking lot, the entire store looks on…read morethe newer side. Staff are super friendly. Clear posted signage in the store about pricing and the daily color (which is 50% off). I docked stars because the store has posted signs for womens, mens, kids, etc but the racks themselves are so unorganized. Most of the clothes are off the hangers, tangled amongst themselves, or just in the wrong section. So much to look at but the racks are stuffed. I only noticed a small Target section, which is where outdated items go FYI, so that was disappointing. Would recommend if youre in the area but please note that lots of people shop here so the racks may be picked over.

21 November 2020…read more Donation season! On my walk this morning, I stopped by the drop box to check if there were hours posted; no hours are posted. However, it seems a new addition was made...an after hours drop box! I like that they added an after hours drop box (I think its new because I've gone in the past and there was not one before). Irregardless, it is only for small items and people still leave their larger items at the side of the container. When I went back to drop my items off, it seems the drop box was almost full because once I closed the hatch and open it to put in another bag, the first one was still there. I had to physically push it in with a little force. This indicates that either they haven't emptied it in a few days or there were a lot of donations in a short period! ‍ I wish they had hours posted. I think that would be more helpful and would deter people from leaving their items outside in the elements. While their intent to donate is good, leaving items on the outside just creates the potential for weather damage and the items becoming unusable! I do like donating to BB/BS though as they state that the profits from clothing donations or household goods donations go  toward funding the specialized mentoring programs for young people. The added after hours drop box is a convenient addition!!

RANT...Figured I would give them a second chance, but this location/workers are horrible!!…read more They didn't want to accept my area rug that was rolled and tied neatly, nor did they want to take another small item. Granted today, April 3 at around 1pm there were two trucks there. One truck was probably 1/2 full and the other truck quite empty. Are they lazy, uninformed on what to receive? This older Filipino man needs to learn customer service!! They rather sit outside with their loud music blasting! Oh I almost forgot to mention, that he told me to go to Savers or throw it away. Just by chance I was at Safeway in Kapolei and noticed another Green Drop truck, so I went there. There was a Caucasian man who was extremely polite and thanked me, and welcomed my donated items. He went above and beyond and I give him 5 stars.

The moment to give…read more.. I do go through phases and though each item does have it's place there are time to separate and hope that other will love them as much as I did. GreenDrop is a phenomenal place to do so as it will go to such great cause and this Ka Makana Alii location is a bit separated from the mall and is found sharing the lot with Wendy's. They do take lunch breaks which I did happen upon at other locations but they usually do have a green bin to drop your item off if that's the case though not sure if they'll do so at this location just be mindful of the time you do your drop off. There is a staff that will happily take your items which make the process so quick and easy will keeping items out of the landfill which may find happy homes that is a win win situation on these pricey times to share and keeping Hawai'i green. Parting ways... This…read moreWaipahu Salvation Army was an unexpected stop but since I was in the area I did a search and was surprised to see that they have one in this location. Not the largest space but with some parking for convenience along with donation drop off in the back was questionable as the staff was nowhere to be found as I had to walk up the steps and literally walk in to give them my items and that's all I had to say about it sadly. What's worse is their thrift store which don't get me wrong is nicely organized with decent amount of clothing and a few furniture but that's about it very little inventory and it felt like the leftover from other thrift shops many of the various items was bad as I was searching for items to purchase but it seems like this location is very much in need for donations. Located in Waipahu Town Center, this location of Goodwill shares the free parking lot with Longs Drugs Store, Seafood City, and Starbucks. I found a parking space right in front and entered the nicely air-conditioned store. What a relief! The two clerks were assisting customers. I placed my donation in the bin and waited for a receipt. No problem! It's a nice feeling to free up some space in the house and do something good for a charity! Afterward, I browsed around and noted that red tagged items were half off this week. Luckily, I didn't find anything and walked out a happy camper! I wonder if I should go to Goodwill Goes Glam Event this weekend???

They had so many of the latest Target trends because if you didnt know, Target donates all their unsold inventory to Goodwill. A section for every member of your family and all your possible needs, the store is stuffed with pre-loved treasures.

Impulsive retail therapy eventually does have some consequences and though I do still have difficulty parting with many items that bring me joy it doesn't mean that it will give others joy as well. Savers is here for one of the reasons and knowing that it's going to a good cause does makes me feel better especially as many do shop here for various reasons finding that items does makes it all worth while. They also give you a discount coupon for your donation to which you can shop and find items at an even greater deal with that coupon so it's a win win situation...and yes I do shop and have found items here as well so don't think that you won't it just takes a bit of search and you never know what you'll find. A lot easier said than done but I do try to make the choice to part with some gently used items between clothes and household items and had planned my to drop it off and any donation center but had no idea this Waipio Shopping Center had one conveniently right in the parking lot. Mind you it's a very small container and already seen that it was basically almost filled to capacity that even the staff barely had room to sit in to avoid the hot sun. It's nice that they're open every day as my decision to purge are usually on a whim and when I part with item it has to go before I change my mind lol! Staff look hot and I always thank them for accepting my items which gives me peace of mind that it will go into good use. Thank you!

Donation in Waipi'o, O'ahu, Hawai'i…read more.. This is a convenient kiosk-type of structure in the parking lot of Waipi'o Shopping Center. Located across the parking lot from Foodland, this Goodwill Donation Center doesn't have a store attached to it. It's only a drop-off site. It's an open-air, simple process! Service is friendly and helpful! The cheerful man accepted all of my bundles of houseware in a pleasant manner. He offered me a receipt which I gladly accepted! Thank you for your kindness!

Since I'm in the area and always have a bag ready to go this Kapolei Shopping Center location was an unexpected find as I was going into Safeway and noticed the vibrant green container along side a recycling center. The sweet lady that's there has been doing this for over 20+ years shows the love they have for giving says it's always been here though it used to be a Goodwill container that got taken over and sits in the same position since. Great to know why some are larger and some are smaller is why it's all being converted to Green Drop and with multiple locations makes it a very convenient stop to keep the giving going strong. Donation time in Kapolei, Oahu, Hawaii…read more.. Since I was in Kapolei, I thought that I would be able to make a quick Donation... Unfortunately, I arrived during the worker's Lunch Break, which is between noon and 12:30pm. He was sitting in his car, under a tree. I parked next to him - in the shade. He smiled and said he would be there soon... No problem! Located at Kapolei Shopping Center (use the driveway between BedMart and Safeway), the pod opened promptly, and I entered my phone number onto the tablet for my receipt to be emailed to me. Very efficient! These GreenDrop pods and trailers are a national attempt to Reduce, Recycle, and Reuse! The donations are sold to thrift shops and the profits go to charities such as The American Red Cross... This pod advertised for United Cerebral Palsy... This is a worthy cause! Support if you can!

We need to donate…read more.. As I was driving in Pearl City I noticed a Salvation Army bin at the corner of my eye and wondered if they were open for donations as I do have some items I need to drop off and went right around the corner and found the container in the lot of the Joy of Christ Church. It seems like services are over and the lot was completely empty as I parked right beside it I could hear music and saw there was a gentleman there in the almost bare container...sob! He was such a delight and told him that I had no idea it was here and he says there was a sign but was told it needed to be taken down was sad to hear as this type of services are in need and as he sat in the bar container on a Sunday afternoon he was so bright and cheerful with a great smile it was a positive vibe that really stuck with me and was so happy to have donated some items that will go to great homes.
