First time dog owner and I really enjoyed everything about Goodvets West Loops. Before getting my puppy I called the staff and they were able to help me and answer all different questions about my dog, which was so helpful. When it came time to our first visit, upon entry, I was greeted with a very warm welcome. Dr. D and her nurse were so nice and able to sit with me for as long as I need to answer all my questions about my new puppy. My puppy felt very comfortable being with them and they treated him like he was their own pet. The facility is extremely clean and does not smell like a vet. Stay away!!!!This location killed my family cat due to improper treatment. Upon arrival, my cats vitals were low but she was still eating and using the bathroom normal. Instead of injecting her with what was needed to save her life, it was applied over her coat. Instead of recommending to keep her for observation, they said she was good to go and hours later had an emergency visit due to further decline in vitals. She passed away due to this medical mistake without explanation. They offered to pay for cremation and reduce the cost of visit. That doesn't bring my cat back!!! Apologies won't bring my sweet cat back to life due to this medical mistake! Will not be taking any of animals here again. Please stay away. read more

Even during the craziness of the world and pandemic we are currently living in, GoodVets was their for us when we started fostering Mr.Banks. I was a little worried dropping him off at GoodVets since I was only with him for three days, but GoodVets assured me that everything will be taken care of and even had someone waiting for me to drop him off. This place killed my family's cat! We took her in alive and they gave her "medicine" to make her better and a few hours later she passed away in an unpleasant position with no explanation!! This is truly sad and unbelievable. We will not be taking any other animals here ever again! First, I will start with the vets themselves are great, super caring, compassionate and knowledgeable. They are not my issue at all. The administrative aspect is. This office has quite possibly the worst vet hours I have ever seen. I don't know if they're only catering to wealthy, jobless people or those who work the night shift. When I chose them as my dog's primary vet, they at least were open most days of the week, but have since cut down to like 3-4 days a week and are only open from like 8-6. They are very eager to try to schedule me to come in for regular check-ups; which I don't need because I have a French Bulldog that requires random vet attention every couple of months. They never have availability when I need them, leading to me regularly going to other vets (which has been a challenge since most don't accept new clients during COVID) and emergency vets who don't know anything about my dog. Lastly, this is utterly strange, but they have messed up my billing drastically on three separate visits. I WAS THE ONE who had to flag it. On the last time it happened, I even reiterated before being handed the bill about my frustration with billing inaccuracy before, and then proceeded to be handed an overcharged bill that they had to correct. My final straw was last week when I asked them to refill my dog's allergy pill prescription they gave him before for the same symptoms, and they insisted I needed to come into the office--which we would have loved to come into the office A WEEK PRIOR when I called you about my dog's allergy flare-up and you had no availability that week and so I had to go to an emergency vet to handle the short-term allergy infection, but was told I needed my primary vet to get the other prescription for his rashes. Honestly these are great vets, nice bedside manner, but there are some serious issues. read more

They squeezed us in as a brand new patient the same day we called, even though there were no openings, given our pup's recent injury and our concern for infection. My dog Boop and I recently switched over to GoodVets West Loop. I cannot rave enough about it! From the design of the hospital to the staff it is all top notch! My dog is very nervous when it comes to vet visits, and not only was she excited when she entered but she was still just as happy when leaving! Boop was so lucky to see Dr. Chen! She was so sweet and friendly to my pup and really took the time to let her get comfortable before starting her exam. She was not only knowledgeable, but offered such amazing tips to get Boop to her best health! She explained everything to me in detail so I knew exactly what was going on, and what was needed. I highly recommend her to anyone! The facility is very clean, and well thought out from the blanket in the exam room to help make my dog more comfortable to the "pupsicle" treat they offered my dog. After going to GoodVets, it would truly be difficult to go back to an ordinary vet clinic. My dog is a nervous wreck on the way to the vet. But once we got to GoodVets, both the vet tech and Dr. Chen were unbelievably accommodating - sitting on the floor with Daisy, feeding her frozen peanut butter during her exam to calm the nerves. The staff at GoodVets was able to issue an annual checkup, provide quotes for requested services, and schedule future appointments in a streamlined, organized, and comforting manner. I left with all quotes/schedules/receipts sent to me digitally so I didn't have to fumble around or save paper copies of my records. Go see Dr. KUO at Good Vets if you want your sick dog to be a DEAD dog. We took our French bulldog to see her one year ago because he had a minor limp. Dr. Kuo took xrays and told us that he had mild arthritis. Six months later, his condition had severely worsened and he could barely walk. We took him back to Dr. Kuo and she took xrays again. She compared the two sets of xrays and told us again that he had arthritis and nothing could be done. Three months later, our dog was completely unable to walk and in extreme pain. This time we took our dog to another vet. He looked at the compared xrays and immediately said that there was a cancerous tumor. He was shocked that a vet could have diagnosed as anything else. Another vet had the same exact reaction. The tumor had grown so much over the time from the misdiagnosis that they were unsure how much longer he had to live. Our dog died that evening. He was our best friend and we are absolutely devastated that this could have all been avoided had the tumor been properly diagnosed initially. Do not go to DR KUO unless you want your dog to DIE. read more

I love GoodVets, and I was extremely satisfied. I took my cat to see them in March. Dr. Remnes is AMAZING and was so helpful. I have a relatively healthy cat, but she answered all the questions I had about her health/anxiety and spent so much time with us. They did a thorough exam, explained everything to me, even took her to the back to cut her nails. They gave me great recommendations for my cats future care. What also impressed me was that Dr. Remnes emailed me the next day to ask how my cat was doing, and if I had any further questions. As I am moving out of Chicago, I called Dr. Remnes and asked if she could prescribe some anxiety medication for my cat since the move is going to be extremely hard on her. She gave me some medication for her with clear instructions and it's been the easiest experience. I'm so sad that I am moving and have to find a new vet, because I absolutely love this place. Definitely recommend, I felt so safe with them. The prices are also very comparable to other places in the city. I think the extra few dollars per visit is completely worth it to come here. read more

As someone who has had bad experiences at vet offices before it was refreshing to take my pets to a place that very clearly cared about them. I wouldn't recommend this place at all, visited with my 2 dogs twice.they are a register machine type of vet. They find new ways to charge at each corner if you are a new dog owner you will walk with a thousand dollar bill each time. I took my dogs for routine vaccines, extremely expensive then 1 more visit for 1 extra vaccine the daycare requested and they charge me the vaccine plus exam, most vet if you were there 3 weeks ago they charge you the vaccine only. Scan again. Plus the receptionist is a talking machine, they put me on hold 15 min and I notice while waiting she puts people on hold and talk like there is no rush while another customer is in the line. If you have to wait there, you can't take a conference call or business call because she never stops talking. I have dogs all my life, two or three at a time for the last 30 years, never see a vet receptionist talking not stop. I felt welcome the minute I came in! My puppy and I both were provided with refreshments and he got treats when we arrived. The place was clean and open. I felt safe as everyone was wearing masks including patient owners. Although My puppy cried during his shots the vet has a calm and loving demeanor and he immediately felt better after the shots were done! I greatly appreciated being allowed in the room as well, as it's hard on pet owners to leave our pets, too! The vet answered all my questions and knew exactly what my puppy needed. It is clear Dr. B is great at what she does, and she didn't push any unnecessary vaccines or procedures on us which helped with affordability. Felt so welcome the moment we stepped in. Was looking for a vet that would take care of my boxer and get to know her. FOUR OTHER VETS had misdiagnosed my dog/ went without diagnosing her with pancreatitis for several years. Other vets couldn't figure out what was wrong with her, and immediately blamed it on paracites which wasn't the case.GOODVETS IMMEDIATELY knew what was wrong with her, and diagnosed her with chronic pancreatitis. She is a completely different dog now, they saved her life. She is full of energy. I cannot recommend this place enough. They care so much about your pet. My dog is actually happy to go there, which has never been the case for a vet before. If I could give 6 stars I would! They become part of our family practically. read more

In the past, I've had great experiences with previous vets at GoodVets West Loop. However, recently, I was given the runaround while trying to get a specialty prescription called in and filled for my senior rescue dog. I had a TeleVet visit with Dr. Beauchamp to get a special eye drop for my dog. I told her that I normally get it from an ophtho vet but they couldn't refill it until the first available appt in 2 months, and that they asked that I get it from my general vet in the meantime. I also told her that I've had to get it compounded specially multiple times because regular pharmacies usually don't have this medication. Because she thought my Walgreens might have it, I specifically asked her to check that they had it there and to let me know when it was called in. I did not hear from her again that day. In fact, I had to call GoodVets and two different pharmacies numerous times over the next couple days to try to track down this prescription. I called Walgreens and Braun Pharmacy myself multiple times looking for this prescription only to find out directly from the pharmacies (and not from GoodVets) that they don't even make EDTA eye drops. I ended up being the one doing all the legwork for Dr. Beauchamp and GoodVets after paying $60 for a 6-minute TeleVet phone call. When I pointed this out, Dr. Beauchamp told me "You're a human doctor right? So you know what it's like- you call and leave a message for the pharmacy and then they call you later if there's a problem." This, in a nutshell, is why I will not be going back to this vet. As a "human doctor", I know that caring for patients isn't a 9-to-5 job that can be phoned in; it sometimes takes an extra step or time (i.e. talking directly to a pharmacy tech to make sure they have/make the medication) to provide the proper care. After this last interaction with Dr. Beauchamp, I have come to the realization that she may not take those extra steps for my dog, who is at the end of her life and needs someone who will advocate for her well-being. read more

We absolutely love GoodVets! Our Dachshund, Cali, has a home away from home there whenever we need to board her. We have extra peace of mind while we are away knowing that she is being taken care of by people who truly know her. Everyone knows her by name and we get the greatest updates from the staff members, including pics! GV is great about picking up on cues from Cali, and she was promptly treated for an ear infection while were away. They are also excellent with correspondence and letting us know what is going on. We can't thank everyone at GV West Loop enough for always spoiling our baby during her slumber parties! read more

I don't think we will be returning here. We brought our dog here for some annual shots and vaccinations. This business model is based on upcharging and add-on upselling. I don't believe in the value of that when it comes to my dog. Your general practitioner doesn't upsell you tests that need to be done. It's a dog they get ear infections. Prescribe some wipes and medication and let's check back in a few weeks. Instead GoodVets model has their techs providing all the suggestive lab tests that end up making the final costs of visit 5x would it really should be. For whatever reason when I come across business models that are so for lack of a better word, Pushy. I just tend to stay away. I've seen several GoodVets popping up around the Chicagoland area. There's barely any multi-unit local vet business out there. It's clearly a highly marked up business model. This business gets 2 stars because the staff was sweet and kind to us and our dog. Nothing went wrong, our dog was a little sick for a few days post visit but that can happen with vaccinations. But I'm not going to frequent a places that up-sells and charges 2x. read more
