Bondi and Bondi Junction have had a handful of new burger joints pop up recently and GoodTime Bugers at The Eastern has been around for a bit but they've had a menu revamp recently. They do a full range of burgers with beef being the cheapest option, and chips are extra at $3. The place totally reminds me of Cheekyburger, but with a more varied menu. I opted for the Good Ol' Time and slapped on an extra patty with cheese.
Double grass fed beef, cheese, tomato, lettuce, pickle, aioli, chutney
The first two bites of this burger were terrible, someone did not mix the seasoning and salt properly when they made the patties because it was like licking the salt flats of Bolivia. Thankfully, as I got through the burger the patties got way better and the juiciness and flavour started coming out of the medium rare beef. The burger comes out with a mac & cheese ball which wins points with me. The Brasserie Bread milk bun really doesn't look like much and I thought it would fall apart but it actually holds everything together and is soft without being too airy, even though it isn't toasted. The toppings are mostly an afterthought, the lettuce is wimpy and the chutney/aioli just alright. The cheese is good and the patties when properly seasoned do stand out.
Assuming you don't eat a mouthful of salt, this burger is pretty decent. read more
