    Small chips ($4)
    Grace S.

Located in the Eastern Hotel, Goodtime is an american diner themed restaurants. It is a great place to have a date or hang out with friends. Food was not too bad too. I tried the 34DD (crumbled chicken with avacado/ lettuce/ tomato) and it's pretty darn good. My only complaint is that the bun is a little too crusty, so it falls apart very easily. The home-made chips is average, a little too oily for me. On a good note, service is really good and they have a great selection of beer. NOTE: ketchup is free ! *yay*

Fantastic atmosphere!! Delicious burgers and great beers!! The food at Goodtime Burgers is amazing! I had the Freebird a chicken Breast fillet with aioli and tomato chutney, and it was fantastic!! The chips are more like wedges but are delicious and the variety of dipping sauces is a great addition. Friendly service with a laid back atmosphere and a variety of beers and other drinks to be enjoyed I WILL be returning to Goodtime Burgers very soon

The first 2 options of the menu. 11 and 10 dollars + 3 dollars fries

Very good hamburgers, own sauce.14 dollars with fries. The fries nothing especial and the ketchup bad quality but nice place make you feel in American movie.

A snazzy little beer bar…read more.. Walk a bit too fast and you will miss it. The entrance is a bit strange, actually IMHO the entire set-up is a bit strange. The entrance to the venue is a narrow flight of stairs that leads you upstairs, so if you are coming from the street all you see are stairs! Other than signs pointing you in the right direction, there isn't a hint of where you are off too. If memory serves me correctly, there is a sheek bar or restaurant on the street level next to the stairs, don't confuse that venue with Bitter Phew. The staff is friendly, well informed and attentive. There are a healthy selection of local beers on tap that rotate, just don't get carried away trying everything on the menu as it can get pricey...$$$ The menu itself is not fancy; old school hand written marker on a board, probably due to the rotating menu and to possibly to save costs, definitely no high tech billboard. Bitter Phew is not a big venue either, it's pretty cozy. On a hot summer day this place is an oven...don't say I didn't warn you! Worth a visit if you are a craft brew aficionado...

They were excellent! To drink, my wife had a margarita and I had a skinny Pina Colada. Fresh lime juice and Cointreau in the margarita. Both were really good. The jazz duo that played that night were really great and is what attracted us to this place. When the band took a break there was 80s R&B music playing in the background. Laid back and happy crowd. Good times!

Andy, you said you would sort out my refund and i have not received any. I waited a week and texted you and called you. YOU WERE AVOIDING ME. We came there yesterday night for a table for 3 for all you can eat dumplings. We got sat down and had to wait almost 25m for the first course of dumplings to be served, and the place only had 2 tables at that time, us and another table for 3. At one point the waitress brought a portion of steamed dumplings and we thought "finally" but no, she gave it to the other table while they still had unfinished dumplings on their table. For almost an hour it seemed like there was only 1 waitress and she was doing all the work so we didn't mind waiting for her. But the annoying thing was even when they started to have more waiters, nobody was looking after us. We had to wait roughly 10-15m to get a portion of dumplings every time, while the next table, had 5 plates of unfinished dumplings (and keep in mind, they only serve 2 at a time), so we were quite unhappy with the mistreatment. No diversity in dumplings, 2 small portions of steamed and 1 fried on repeat the entire night. I get it, it's all you can eat so options can be limited but at least if the dumplings were good, we wouldn't be complaining. They were absolutely mediocre, and the last plate of fried dumplings we got was cold, not even warm. It was only 90m sitting down but i'm not exaggerating, the amount of time we ate was only 20m, the 70m rest was waiting for the food. Total bill was $117/ 3 people. With a bad start and terrible ending, ordinary dumplings, long waiting time and poor customer service. The whole experience felt like a ripped off! The only 1 star there is for the band, they played good jazz music. Definitely would not recommend.

It was our first time in Australia and they were answering tons of questions and giving us tons of suggestions for the area . We really appreciated their hospitality while we waited to hear from our Airbnb host. We sat there for maybe an hour and they didn't even press us about ordering anything. My friend did taste some beers and ended up ordering one she really liked . I was still a little jet lagged and was just there to rest from traveling via train and bus with our luggage. Their advice was very useful and we used a lot of it to plan out our days and adventures. If I ever go back to Sydney I'll be sure to stop in and say hello to my new friends.

And thirdly, the food is always excellent. It's a bit expensive for what it is, but that still doesn't hold us back from regularly going and wholeheartedly recommending.

We did not have a reservation, but they fit us in as a walk-in at a small coffee table with 2 ottoman seats. Not the most comfortable set up, but I appreciate the cozy atmosphere, almost like you are sitting in someone's very posh and dimly lit den. All the NOLA classics were featured, like Vieux Carre (no likey), old fashioned (likey), and hurricane. There were some twists on the classics as well. I liked the newer house specialties, and ended up having 3 drinks, more than I intended. We snacked on some popcorn chicken, which was nothing special, but very satisfying when hungry. We were also lucky enough to be there when the live jazz band played a brief set, which really set the mood. I took off a star because not every drink was a homerun, and the service was a bit too impersonal for a speakeasy. We had a different server each time. One of my favorite parts of going to a speakeasy is to watch the bartenders work their magic and ask them for recommendations, and if I'm lucky, maybe get an off menu drink. Not quite set up that way here.

Financial concerns aside, what an ass-kicking deal. Combine that with a super intimate venue and cheap drinks and why would you not come here, eh? The bartender was having an off night when I went - lost his bottle opener, had to run downstairs to find a new one, and couldn't find a light beer (I was driving, awright) on the register and asked "How does $5.20 sound?" Good question. Caught me out. Should have gone for some happy bartering but didn't think quickly enough. But hells, this is run by community radio station FBI and I saw 2 hrs of cracking tunes, what's a couple bucks between friends. Plus he was super nice about it in a Fawlty Towers kinda way. And you'll notice this still gets 5 stars. They could spit on me when i come in and it would still get 5 stars, that's how much I rate the local live music scene and these dudes that make it happen.

If I'm honest, I secretly want Sydney to be filled with divey-style bars like this level of the Kings Cross Hotel... I'm a sucker for dim lighting, cheap drinks and good tunes... throw in a few tall men in shirts and tight jeans and my little heart is content. The music can be hit and miss (as it should be) and occasionally the painfully-hipster:regular-person ratio is too heavy on the hipster... but if you're happy to chill out, go with the flow and get your indie on, you'll have a fun night here.
