On Monday the 7th of September I attempted to return one stand for a replacement but found out they were closed-it was Labor day. On the 8th of Sept I left town for 10 days, and returned on the 18th. On the 19th I went to Woodsongs in an attempt to have the defective guitar stand replaced. The nice young man behind the counter said he'd have to talk to the manager. The manager appeared and told me they had a strict 7 day return policy. I told him I tried to return the stand on Monday the 7th of September but they were closed, and that I'd been out of town since then. He told me that they are never closed and that I should have returned it before I left town. He didn't replace the stand which is not an expensive item, and treated me as though I was making an unreasonable request to have the stand replaced. He even told me that I broke it and it was my fault. As a retail outlet, the customer service is very poor and there is a air of arrogance about the shop. I'll never go back there again. I'll go to Louisville. I've been around music my whole life and usually musicians are good to other musicians. I don't get the impression this shop is run by players. Just a retail shop.

From routine repairs on newer instruments, to careful restoration of 90 year old instruments, to getting creative and indulging requests (like adding an octave string to a 6 string acoustic), John, Parker, Willow and the rest of the crew are excellent. School of Rock has been the one positive, steady thing that has kept our son afloat during the pandemic. His experience there has greatly improved his self-confidence and we've seen a huge advancement of his abilities in less than a year. School of Rock is a wonderful community of musicians that really know how to support and encourage kids. They meet kids on their level and work with what they've got.

I feel incredibly lucky to have discovered Hanna. My lessons have advanced to a level I never thought possible at my mature age. I studied piano at a young age but stopped in my teens and resumed again later in life, and this, again, is so amazing because Hanna also teaches children! She mixes pop and classic, teaches improv, has a positive reward program, makes sure children have a solid backing in music theory. She's very familiar with several different pedagogical approaches coming from Canada, Japan, the US. She herself is an incredibly accomplished pianist. Last year, when she was receiving her masters in piano performance from CU, she invited all her students and performed excerpts and then explained and showed her students different parts of the piece. Super patient and positive with every level from beginner to experienced. Devon Park - horn instructor - Besides being a very accomplished musician i.e. performs with the Opera Colorado, Boulder Phil, Greeley Phil as well as various other performing groups around Colorado, Devon is an incredible teacher. He's incredibly knowledgeable and patient. He really builds on student's interests while at the same time gently filling in gaps and exposing them to new ideas. He's got a great sense of humor and people feel comfortable around him. Whether it is fixing a student's horn, lending them multiple CDs to compare different performances, providing historical context for a piece, describing the evolution of the horn, Devon is an absolute treasure of a master teacher!!

He was no longer napping but was required at four years old to sit on his mat keeping himself busy for up to two hours. Staff were not willing to spend time creating quiet activities for him during this time. If your child requires a bit extra in terms of structured time, I would not consider this school. They have classes in voice and instruments along with newer classes in theatre improv and creative writing, and they don't mind how "talented" you are.
