The staff is very knowledgeable, helpful and you will truly be amazed on what you find. I have shopped here twice now and both times I have walked away with hard to find books in excellent if not new condition and will treasure them now that they are found. I never see the same books in the same spot. Always something new appearing everywhere. I just love this place when I am feeling down. The customers are incredible as well. It has a monster selection, but you really get a feel that everything is curated down from the travel selection down to the magazines. Even the kids section is fantastic and my son really loved our visit. They do a variety of special events and the staff are just super nice. You owe yourself the favour and go hang out at The Book Shelf for a while.

I was horrified to hear the staff berating a woman who had her mask down in the store. The ignorant staffer asked if she had a virology degree and insisted that a cloth mask was mandatory even though the woman had put it back up. Even Fauci at this point has said cloth masks don't stop the spread of this virus. It's disturbing that staff can be belligerent to customers as mandates are about to be dropped literally tomorrow. Never will I shop here again.

The vibe of the cafe was cool, it was decorated with various items throughout. Plus, there was an area where you can read and/or buy books. I ordered a matcha latte and my partner picked a muffin. We got a seat by the window at the back, so that we can cool down and look at the beautiful view. The food was yummy and we enjoyed relaxing there. I was excited to visit the store before seeing an afternoon movie. When you first open the blue doors, the decor is pleasing to the eye. It's cozy. I walked immediately to the new books display and started reading Leonard Cohen's collection of poems. I love the electronics section, which has everything from Fitbit trackers to record players. Naturally, there are plenty of Kobo readers. I held my composure and did not buy another to add to my mini collection of two. The cookbooks section is divine. One of my favourite restaurants that I frequented a ton in Winnipeg, earls, has its own cookbook. I want it so badly! I love this Indigo. It's now my favourite one. There are plenty of areas where you can sit down and read. I love the knitted mittens and scarves that you can buy. The paper shop section screams my name, as I have a thing for picking out the most thoughtful card that I can to friends and family members. It's such an inviting place to spend some time. Starbucks has been open for a while here. I like that the designers knocked a wall down, so you can freely walk between Indigo and Starbucks.
