Inside, plenty of carts and a greeter checking receipts at the door. Shelves were decently stocked and I had no problem finding stuff in the deli aisle, produce and finally, automotive for something to put in the van. Of course, self-checkout. Okay, so I swore I would never review WalMart. I mean, it's WalMart, right? We've all been there,…read morewe've all stood in a long line with slow cashiers and we have all walked a hundred miles in this store just to get milk. We have also all marveled at the human species while in this ginormous store. We've been there, done that. The game changer for me, though, was the order pickup tower that was recently installed. WOW-WE! Before the tower when you ordered something online for store pickup, you had certain hurdles you had to jump over to get your item. You had to scan in, wait for someone to acknowledge you, show you ID, wait while they searched through lockers to find your item and then you were good to go. With the tower, you scan in the barcode that has been emailed to you. Your product is rotated around and then scooped into a bin and the bin releases into an opening in the tower. You simply retrieve your item and *POOF* off you go. It took me under two minutes to get my item. Seriously, it was that fast. It was fun watching the item being retrieved, too. The best part about this new service is you do not have to wait for someone to wait on you. You don't have to wait for fumbling clerks to find a locker key, rummage through other items to retrieve your product. It is quite an incredible system. I actually might order more things just so I can use it again. LOL. At this point in time, there are only 150 of these towers in operation throughout the United States. I am just grateful there is one in Lawrence. I am one of those techy geek people and WalMart just knocked it out of the park!

The deli staff were all incredibly sweet and fun. We got fried chicken, catfish, mashed potatoes, macaroni, and all of it was SO good. Grocery prices were reasonable, all staff were wearing masks (properly!!!!). Great place!

Fun, Funky & Frugal…read more Located just outside the Thayer city limits (no city sales tax, yay!), Value Seekers has everything from soup to nuts and maybe even the kitchen sink too! The experience is like a small boutique in a mall crossed with a salvage grocery store. But this is unlike any other salvage grocery you've ever been to; this one is CLEAN and we'll ORGANIZED! You never know what you're gonna find there. It could be a great deal on beef jerky, a fashionable turquoise-colored purse and matching jewelry, or a giant shop fan big enough to push a swamp boat (if you can get an extension cord long enough). Toys for the kids, shoes for the whole family, scarves and rings for mom, tools and gardening items for dad, and even pet food and toys for Fido and Kitty. Groceries are cheap and regularly checked for freshness. Candy galore! When I put together my weekly shopping list, I go to Value Seekers first to get what I can because my dollar goes further there. Then I go to the "normal" grocery stores for anything Value Seekers might not have. The owners and employees are friendly and engaging as all get-out and genuinely care about their customers. Overall, an awesome experience.
