White chocolate mousse - check out the huge raspberries!

Great service- moderately priced - great views! On our last evening in London, we wanted to try a steakhouse near our hotel. Goodman's was the highest rated in our area for steakhouses so we gave it a try. The prices aren't cheap but are comparable to steakhouses back in the states. We ordered a t-bone and a bone in ribeye- both are cuts we typically order in the US paired with mashed potatoes and creamed spinach- also side dishes we would typically order with our steaks. The manager stopped by our table to apologize for the delay in our order (honestly we didn't even notice). Shortly after her apology our food arrived and exactly how we ordered - medium rare. Nothing is worse than a steak that is over prepared to your liking. They served the steaks with 3 sauces- bernaise, pepper sauce, and bbq flavored sauce. The sauces were ok in flavor but I feel steak is best eaten with butter & salt and as minimal sauce as possible to enjoy the steak. A good steak doesn't require any sauce in my opinion. Although the steak was prepared to our liking - always a plus when dining out - what stood out the most was the service. Isabella (Zabella) was a fabulous server. She was accommodating and offered several choices. A few of the steaks we attempted to order were sold out and she offered alternatives which is always better than "sorry we're out". She was a lovely Italian who gave us friendly service in addition to travel advice to her home country. On top of the great service, the manager once again stopped by and offered us dessert and a drink as an apology for the delay in our food service. We definitely didn't expect this but happy to oblige when she offered. Price is always an important factor when choosing a restaurant, but service almost always supersedes that (within reason of course). When you have great food AND great service that's a 5 Star in my opinion! So when you're in the Canary Warf area of London, definitely check out Goodman with the nice views of the water and great service.

Great food, great steak Arrived on time but dinner date was delayed in traffic. Very accommodating and inclusive. Great place right on the river.

I love steak. I love good steak. I've been eyeing Goodman Steakhouses for a while. I heard they had lobster mac and cheese. Meow, that sounds like the place for me. So when they opened a branch near my office, it seemed like fate. I would go to the ball. They had transformed the previous location into more of a gentleman's club vibe, booths became tables, lots of dark wood and black and white photographs. But I was disappointed. I know, I know, maybe I am harder on new businesses than I should be. However, if you expect me to pay good money, then you can expect me to be particular. Let's start with the good: beautiful bernaise sauce, fatty chips cooked, presumably, in fat, hmmmm. Cool butcher tables and an awesome selection of meat on display. The bad: service, a bit snarky and they didn't know how to make a Gibson martini, I expect places like this to know their drinks. The ugly: a steak that was more fat than meat. This Goodman is new, so I'd definitely pay another visit. I wouldn't order off the lunch menu. In steakhouses, it's always a mistake to try and scrimp on your order. Just throw down the big money and order decadently. A hearty red wine, the best steak you can afford and blow out on the sides too. I'll be back Goodman. Be ready.

Brilliant place, amazing service. Our main waiter was Rod-have to let everyone know because he was so personable. 2nd-the view and the food, both incredible. Also I'd like to add that I showed up a bit underdressed and they were so polite and still served me. Regretting my ripped jeans tho ‍. Lovely atmosphere, lovely time- must visit in London.

Well.. It's rare that Fiona and I are ever in London together on work. So given she was staying in Canary Wharf, we decided to have a meal out together & be sociable (despite working for different banks lol) This place came up with some good reviews from fellow Yelpers & was literally a 5 minute walk down the river path from hotel. Google maps will not help you either.. If you are ever here, it's across the metal bridge from Herons Quay DLR station and the skyscrapers & then walk left along the water to the lights of the bars and restaurants. Really welcoming & it's such a lovely interior decor. We literally did spend over 2 hours in here & the time flew by, as it's so relaxed. Server came over with a huge chalk board of cuts available and prices, as well as the meat plate of cuts on offer. A lot of care and attention goes into this! On deciding to go with 2 fillets from USDA, she helpfully went through the wine choices & brought out 2 glasses to sample the Pinot Noir and Cabernet Sauvignon. Both were absolutely delicious!! Went with the Pinot though, as slightly lighter & better matched to let the steak flavour do the talking. For starters, we went for a tempura kind prawn on a bed of avocado...wow...!! So fresh & light that you could eat them by the bucket load! A 15-20 wait later, the steaks arrived & look amazing. Only.. this is a running theme with me. Fiona & I normally always order the same cut/weight of steak. Hers always ends up being pretty much Medium as requested, but slightly to the medium rare camp, which is still fine for us both. I however, normally get the one place on my plate, cremated or in this case... completely rare in the middle!! No exception to the rule, but rare is too much for me & I asked for it to be cooked up, as opposed to wasting a perfectly good steak having it re-fired. The manager, Ryan, quickly came over to apologise & said it wouldn't be long. Fiona pretty much finished her steak by the time it came back (with fresh sides I might add!). Good 8-10 minute wait. However, it was still pretty rare on one half & just tasted 'gassy' from the charcoal and convector oven. Lost all the initial flavour. Ryan came over to see how it was & I just called it quits, as no one really wants to eat separately or wait another 15-20 minutes for a steak. Ryan couldn't be more apologetic & made it up to us with complimentary desserts and dessert wines to accompany the selections of white chocolate brûlée & baked cheesecake. I always say, sometimes you go to a place & just doesn't work out. HOWEVER... it's how the place deals with it that ultimately turns it around & makes you want to go back. This is such a place. They care they got it wrong & as our first visit, we were not left wanting for anything. Would I come back here, bearing in mind I would have to jump on a tube from Southwark to Canary Wharf & the roundtrip would be an hour? YUP! The steaks are simply some of the best I've had in the UK and the wine is amazing. Is this a cheap place? NO... You're talking £12 for a starter, £9 a glass of wine & around £35-40 for a fillet steak, £7 for dessert. There is also 12.5% service charge added. Will you begrudge spending £100-150 on a meal here - NO again! You can order burgers, skip wine and dessert and enjoy a meal for £50-80 on the two of you. So checkout the menu & decide before you go. You Gotta STEAK This Place Out - FOR SURE! :-D

located in the Canary Wharf district this US style steakhouse is beyond compare. After a long day we took 12 employees and customers to this steak house. I was sceptical since a good steak is normally hard to find in Europe (living and working here for many years) I was very surprised that Goodmans had Nebraska beef that they wet and dry aged for 120 days. Wow. I was looking forward to a good steak in London. In Europe steak is often sold by the 100 grams so a conversion app is useful. Prices are high compared compared o the US but... it is London We ordered a bone in rib eye wet aged 120 days medium rare. Sides of mushrooms and steak fries. I must admit that we. The steak came out it was perfectly done and looked like it was fron any top notch US steak house. The Result Was As Good As IT Looked. One of the best steaks I have had in a while anywhere and that says a lot for the UK where beef was normally shoeleather tough and poor flavored. It truly was a perfect steak house meal all round. Great wine list, good choice of appetizers, perfect service, meat cooked exactly as requested and a busy ambiance. The place was busy and I know why - best steak in the UK!! And I am a steak lover. if you like great beef go to Goodmans.

For a steakhouse the steak was impressive and some of the best I've ever had. But first I have to say their appetizers are incredible. We shared several dishes and devoured them so fast we had to hold back to order more. But it's a good thing we did because the meat is filling and very tender... something which should be eaten slowly and purposefully. Every bite was amazing. We came here with a reservation which they forgot, so the manager took every measure to make us comfortable and relaxed with free wine. We really appreciated this because it make the whole experience from food to service worthwhile, and will definitely go back now.

    700g USDA prime bone-in ribeye

If I'm allowed to choose where we go for a team/client lunch, I'll usually choose Goodman. The service is always impeccable and the food is always delicious. I have to admit though, I'm a little biased. I generally prefer USDA prime over the grass-fed beef found in the UK. I'm okay that they are pumping the cows in the US with cheap corn feed to fatten them up. Why? I like my beef marbled with flavor. I tend to stick with the special cuts listed on the blackboard that they present to you prior to ordering. Avoid the lunch menu and go for the real steaks, because you need at least 350g for a NY strip or ribeye to ensure thickness and temperature. The sides are all done family style and are large enough to share. You cannot go wrong with truffle mac n cheese, creamed spinach and an order of chips. Also, if you happen to work in CW, the best time to go is at lunch on a summer day. After being stuffed from inhaling a large slab of cow, you can slowly make your walk back to the office alongside the canal, enjoying the sun, avoiding the itis.

    Huge lol

Came out with the boys for a Christmas meal and drink. The restaurant is in a swanky part of Canary Wharf and parked right outside is £100 million yacht, on entering the restaurant the first thing I noticed was how small the bar was but nevertheless 3/7 of us managed to find a seat,we got there 45 minutes early had one drink and then was taken to our table at dead on the time it was booked for, the table was a little small for 7 people so the staff made up a makeshift table at the back where we had more or less a room to ourselves, I found the staff very helpful, extremely accommodating and friendly, i would definitely recommend this place, the steak was probably one of the best steaks I have had in this country, it's a little pricey but that's expected in this neck of the woods... All in all a good all Round Night and experience.

We ordered two small (175ml) glasses of the Shiraz/Cabernet and a bottle of fizzy water. (The bill was a bit steep at 19 quid, I thought). The wine could have done with being poured from a great height into the glass. It just needed opening up a little, but was a little metallic and not worth whatever we paid for it. The ambience was ok for a Tuesday night - about a third full of 'Wharf' workers (apparently there is no other wharf in London when you work near here...). There was only one other table occupied upstairs with us, which suited us fine as we were having the most interesting conversation that was probably best not overheard. The service was friendly, but a little too insistent. We took an hour to drink a glass of wine and bottle of water, and we were asked around seven times if we wanted any more wine or to order some food. That's a little under ten minutes between visits, which wasn't too bad, but since we could clearly see the waitress, it wasn't strictly necessary. The decor is pretty cold and nothing about this place is very inviting. Still, it's convenient for my friend's work and perfectly easy to be in - just don't expect stunning wine or for the other patrons to be all that interesting.

We've tried 3 different wines there now, all of which have been excellent. They also do bar nibbles, mostly locally sourced, eg artisan bread, British cheeses. The beef stripes are a "must have". All the food is good and complements the wines well. All the staff we've come across to date have been excellent. A nice mixture of knowledgeable and personable. As noted, this is a shop as well as a bar. I think you can buy anything in the shop and they'll serve it in the bar, though we've just gone for those on the wine list so far. It also served tapas so we thought this could be a back up plan if we couldnt find la tasca. There werent very many people in there either, which made it less exciting for me. This time around, while we were looking for a place to eat in the area, we decided to finally check this place out. When the four of us entered on a Friday night at around 9pm, there was only one table that was occupied. The place was essentially empty - which is exactly why it surpassed my expectations. It's a wonder how this place can be so empty when the beer and wine selection is fantastic, while the food tasted much much better than it's tapas serving neighbour (La tasca was only 3 stars for me). The four of us ordered: - Pintxo de Manchego (£3.75): Toasted bread topped with manchego cheese and fresh tomato. - meh - Chorizo Picante (£5.50): Spanish chorizo, marinated in red wine and onions. - good - Patatas Bravas (£4.00): Potato chunks, served with alioli and a spicy tomato sauce. - GREAT - Pollo al Limon (£5.25) Chicken breast skewers, marinated in garlic and lemon. - good but a little dry - Champiñones al Ajillo (£4.75) Grilled mushrooms, marinated in garlic and parsley. - GREAT - Tortilla (£4.50) A timeless classic, the Spanish omelette made with potato and onion. - GREAT - Calamari (£5.50): Fresh Billingsgate calamari, coated in our home prepared beer batter then deep fried to a golden brown. - GREAT - Albondigas (£5.50): Home made beef meatballs in spicy tomato sauce. - GREAT While the food was a little on the luke warm side, it tasted REALLY DELICIOUS. The service was good, the food was good, the drinks were good. This place is definitely a hidden little gem.
