Dr. Goodman is an anti-vaccine conspiracy theorist who believes Covid isn't and was never real. He refused to mask (even when they were required by the state of Maryland), and spent my appointment telling me that people never actually died from covid. He also mentioned that he was anti-vax several times. I asked him if he had science to back any of this up, and unsurprisingly, he started listing uncited, right wing talking points. On top of all of that, the exam table looks like it's from the 1980s (old discolored leather), and he doesn't sanitize it or use any kind of sheet or paper cover; infection prevention measures aside, it's just generally disgusting. Don't go here unless you want to listen to MAGA talking points in a dirty, dimly lit office. It was easily the most disappointing and surreal healthcare experience I've ever had. Note: just for transparency, I wrote this same review in Google Reviews; I saw no need to change it for Yelp. The man is amazing; he really knows his craft. I'm going to start off this review with this: Dr. Goodman, DO is the real deal. All I can say is he's a healing Artist. I've been experiencing back pain on and off since the early '90's when I got an attack of sciatica down my left leg that lasted for 4 months. I found a DO who was able to fix the problem in about 3 weeks with two visits (manipulation). I went to this DO regularly every few months or when my back was acting up. Sadly he passed away in 2016, and since then I have been on a quest to find someone who could work on my back effectively. from then until before I found Dr. Goodman, I had been unsuccessful. My current attack started as a minor back issue, then progressed to what felt like a dull aching throb in my left hip, down to the side of my knee and ankle. It has lasted for over three weeks and on some days prevented me from being able to walk out of my apt. I used an AI assistant, described my problem, described the previous DO did and then asked for a recommendation. Grok gave me two; the first practice didn't really seem to offer what I wanted; the other practice was Dr. Goodman. His practice description seemed more what I was looking for. I spoke to Michael, his practice manager, who took some information from me to see if Dr. Goodman would be able to help. Michael was very kind and professional. He gave me a brief form to fill out and I made an appt for today Apr. 23, 2025. My hip and leg were so bad I had to take an uber there because I would not have been able to walk the short distance from the Metro to his office. Dr. Goodman was extremely reassuring, calm and gentle. I probably spent over an hour with him. He started by a brief examination, then he started his manipulation. He uses a different technique than my former DO, who did a more intense manipulation. Dr. Goodman told me that he used to teach that very same intense manipulation, but now uses a gentler Osteopathic manipulation. As he was working on my affected side, as he was manipulating me, I felt the pain start to move from my hip to my knee. It was extremely painful--not the manipulation, but rather the pain in my knee. This lasted a few minutes and then subsided. He said he was finished and that was a sprain or a strain in my hip that caused it to pull my left leg up, and this caused pain in my hip, knee and ankle. I sat up for a few minutes to let the adjustment set a bit, then stood up. I was not 100%-- there was still some pain, but the quality of the pain was different. My gait was more normal and I had more range of motion in my hip. The minor pain I had was more muscular instead of that awful nerve pain. It felt like a bunch of my muscles had been in spasm for a while and had then released. So there was soreness, but no intractable pain like before. I was able to walk the two blocks to the metro, just a bit slowly. He wanted to see me in about a week. I made the appt. for next Friday. I'm pretty confident I'll improve over the next week. With something as serious as this I always like to follow up with another visit to just fine-tune everything, and then I'll probably see him every now and again when I want to keep things in good order. Now, about 6 hours after my manipulation, I just feel kind of remnants of pain, not active throbbing pain. What a relief. Just a note: His office does not participate in insurance. Michael will give you the documentation you need, but you will have to submit the claim to your insurance yourself. He would need to hire at least three more staff to handle insurance, so I can understand why he wants to keep things simple. If you're suffering from intractable pain from your back or other injuries, I would recommend Dr. Goodman and his practice without reservation. I'm very thankful I found him. read more

I have been treated by Dr. Goodman on a regular basis for over a year to recover from bladder and rectal prolapse that five different surgeons claimed could only be corrected with a surgery. I tried every other known solution, including physical therapy and acupuncture, and many other things, and Dr. Goodman's work was very clearly the one thing that allowed my body to recover. It is difficult to discern what exactly he does during his treatments, but his wealth of knowledge, nor his sincere desire to help, should not be underrated. I'd recommend him to anyone. read more

I had a severely problematic 2.5 year old back in 2018. He cried all day long, would not nap, would not sleep at night, would not use words, could not self soothe, could not do anything independently. It felt like I could never make him happy no matter what. I held him and rocked him around the clock, wore him all the time, tried to love him as hard as I could but I was at my breaking point. I took him to so many different doctors, I had him adjusted by chiropractors, I had his stomach checked, his ears checked, gave him Tylenol thinking he was in teething pain, acid reflux medicine thing he had silent reflux, contracted a sleep consultant and then when her suggestions didn't work tried to reset his sleep schedule with Benadryl, all things suggested by conventional doctors and things I never thought I would have to do as a mother but tried because I felt so powerless over this child. He was my third and I didn't know what to do. A suggestion was made to come see Dr. Goodman and with nothing to lose I made an initial evaluation appointment. Dr. Goodman asked me what was going on and after hearing me out did a hands on evaluation where he told me that the facia between his cranial plates was constricted and he could not physically relax because of this. With absolutely nothing to lose we continued treatment for about 6 months. I didn't really know what to expect and would have been fine if my child would have just learned to sleep through the night. But what happened was so much more and such a gift When I tell you that I am not sure how I have the same child, it's is so true! He started talking, stopped crying, started sleeping, started playing, just completely different from before treatment. Most importantly he was finally comfortable in his own body! What a gift! When people meet my child now they don't believe my tales of woe from before because it almost seems like there is no way the child standing in front of then could have ever been so miserable. I hope everyone that needs it finds Dr. Goodmans practice because it is literally life changing. Recently I had my 5th child and she was acting a little squirrelly . Not as extreme as the 3rd, but was seemingly in some sort of constant discomfort. Always crying, very clingy, never happy, would not consistently eat any solid foods and most notably - inability to stay asleep for longer than 2-3 hours at any given time. She had her first appointment 3 weeks ago and she has slept through the night more times than the first 18 months of her life combined, started eating like she just discovered she could and started playing with her brothers and not just hanging around my knee caps. I'm still not sure of the whole process, but I am grateful for it. I do not know where we would be today but I know for sure we are better off. read more

Dr Goodman correctly diagnosed and corrected a pelvic floor collapse that no doctor could detect. I went to Sports Med Docs, Internists, even had an X Ray...no main stream doctor could figure out why I was having pain. Dr Goodman also practices Homeopathy and detected the correct remedy I needed to balance my bodies reaction to Oak and all that drops from those trees. I was tested by an Ear, Nose and Throat Doc and I had no allergies according to the test results. In each case Dr Goodman found what I needed and I am eternally grateful! read more

My family and I, including young children, first met Dr. Goodman 20+ years ago when our daughter (9 years old) was having gastrointestinal problems that were not responding to traditional allopathic treatment. He was highly successful in alleviating her severe bouts of pain, and we've been seeing him ever since. My most recent visit was due to intense sciatic pain, the result of a muscle sprain after lifting a nearly 60 lb. bucket of dirt. After several days of intense discomfort, I drove myself to Suburban Hospital's ER. Three hours later, x-rays, and three prescriptions, I went home still in pain. The meds helped but I was not comfortable taking them for the prescribed time frame. Three weeks later, still having shooting pain down my left leg, I went to see Dr. Goodman. I should have seen him before going to the ER. After one visit, my leg pain is negligible, and I can sit and walk comfortably. I'll see Dr. Goodman in about ten days for one more treatment, and I suspect it will be my last for this issue. I highly recommend Dr. Goodman and suggest not waiting as long as I did!! read more

I have been seeing Dr. Goodman for over 10 years. He is in many ways (all positive) unlike any other physician i have ever seen. He has helped me with multiple problems from back and hip pain, to post surgical healing. His intuitiveness is amazing. Dr. Goodman is a gifted doctor and healer and I consider myself extremely fortunate to have the ability to be treated by him when I am not well. I have seen him off and on for more than a decade. The first time I went to him was to treat sciatica that I had during my second pregnancy. On my first visit I asked him if there were any exercises I should do and he said, "I know you are in pain but my treatment will heal you and you will never remember the pain you are experiencing." This was difficult to imagine at the time but after several treatments, he was absolutely correct. Since then he has successfully treated me for back pain, shoulder issues and headaches.
