Another tooth that Dr Richard said he could not save and needed an implant was easily saved by my new dentist. Dr Richard has a fun personality and good office staff, but I am sorry but he is not the same caliber of dentist as Dr Lawrence. Big disappointment!!

Upon relocating to Dallas finding a new dentist was one of the many things I needed to do. And finding a great dentist was more challenging than I thought it would be. Thankfully I was able to go to my Yelp app and conduct my search. A BIG thank you to Nicole J. Upon coming across her initial review for Dr. Yeary I PM'ed her to gather more information. She promptly responded and the next thing I knew I was in the chair at Dr. Yeary's. Upon my first visit I knew I was in the correct place. Talk about rolling out the red carpet...the greeting I received upon arriving was both warm and professional. Instead of handing me some forms to complete, I was seated and asked a series of questions and the next thing I knew I was reviewing the 'new patient forms' and signing. I don't know about you but I am not a fan of completing those new patient forms. This approach made this part of the process so much more enjoyable. Next was the actually appointment in the dental chair. Dr. Yeary has state of the art equipment. As someone who enjoys technology I truly appreciate the setup here. From viewing X-rays on an overhead monitor to the cleaning tools, it all contributed to a great experience. Also, when the monitor is not in use for viewing X-rays, etc, the staff will gladly put it on a TV channel of choice. How cool is it to catch up on sports (ESPN) while having your teeth cleaned? And the comfortable dental chair made feel like I was at home in a recliner. Since my initial visit I've returned a couple of times and the level of warm professional service has been consistent. On one occasion I had a tooth fixed and the entire process was painless. And to top that off, later that evening I rececived a follow up call to see how I was doing. And guess who made the call? Dr. Yeary himself. I could not think of the last time I'd received a follow up call from my dentist (or doctor). Usually it's someone on staff who performs the follow up call. As we were heading into the weekend, Dr. Yeary made it clear that if I had any issues to call and he would get back to me immediately. When is the last time you had a dentist/doctor encouraging you to interrupt their weekend if required? I don't think I've had that occur. Lastly, I truly appreciate that Dr. Yeary looks to solve issues the most cost effective way. As we all know, dental work is expensive. It's good to work with a dentist who is looking to correct the problem the most cost effective way. And I appreciate that Dr. Yeary looks at a longer term fix, not just something to get through for a 12-18 months. I am very pleased that I found Dr. Yeary and his team. They are definitely a 5 star team.

OH NO! My gut was telling me to walk out during the consultation phase of my first (and last) appt…read morewith Dr. Loftus. Seriously, I had the urge to get up and leave, which is a first, but I didn't want to be rude so I stayed. He is nice and friendly, but he was not listening to me!!! I was trying to tell him my basic teeth concerns/issues/dental history but then he started correcting me. Lol ok. Kept cutting me off, talking AT me, asking questions but not waiting for my answer. I found him to be incredibly abrasive and I wish we could have slowed down and established basics before getting to all the chit chat and joke cracking. The purpose of my visit, my most pressing issue, was to address a few minor chips on my front teeth. I expected he'd examine the chips and my bite/alignment, then set me up for a "composite bonding" which is a common procedure. (I would have had this simple and straightforward treatment done by my previous dentist but unfortunately I moved and am new to the DFW area and looking for care!) Dr Loftus let me know the reason for the chipping is the way my teeth grind, or line up when I'm unconscious of it. Totally makes sense, that sounds right. But let's get to the solution, please can we talk about fixing the chips now? No. He said I'll need braces because otherwise "it will keep happening" even after filling in the chips. Is it possible I might chip my teeth in these same spots again in the future, due to the underlying cause of the chips in the first place? Sure. That's possible, but a reasonable dentist would just fix the chips as requested instead of referring me for orthodontial work! I pumped the breaks and said that's way too drastic, I'm not getting braces, I've already had them as a teenager, and I'll cross that bridge IF and when I get there. (No to be honest I am never getting braces again haha I have nice straight teeth. A night guard is one thing but getting braces due to a chipped front tooth? Whaaaaat?!) Loftus backed off the braces idea and we got back on the same page and I made it clear I wanted to just do the composite filling. He agreed to it! Next thing you know I'm getting walked up to the receptionist and she scheduled my appt 6 months out for a cleaning. Wait. What? Aren't we going to schedule the composite bonding? Which is why I came? I was confused, so a couple days later I reached out to their office via email "please let me know when you can fit me in for the follow up, I was scheduled for a cleaning but not for the composite bonding and I'd like to do that at Dr Loftus' soonest availablity" NEVER HEARD BACK. Wowwww I definitely fell through the cracks as far as follow up care goes. Just frustrating. I went in for a specific need and he failed to address it. I'll have to take my business elsewhere and get the composite bonding done by another dentist who is more attentive and wants the business. That's fine. Finally... and this is important... You'll be startled by the rude attitude from the receptionist. Both over the phone and when I met her in real life, her negativity was palpable. Her deep insecurity is masked by a cold, condescending, rigid exterior. (I'm referring to the young lady with dark blonde hair. She runs the front desk at the time of this review at least) Work on your soft skills! You will turn people away when you use such a condescending tone.
