I've always hated my smile. When my permanent teeth came in, I had a large gap between my two front upper teeth that I despised. Then a combination of poor genetics, neglect, and abuse led me to be mortified by my teeth. I never smiled showing them or would hide them behind my hand. After several bad experiences, I was terrified of dentists and only associated them with great expense and immense pain and would become anxious even talking about them. All the above created the perfect storm that led me to have frequent infections, missing teeth, bad breath, and pain. It affected my day-to-day life with what I could eat, my comfort, and my self-esteem. It's hard to look professional with bad teeth. I had been putting it off for years but knew that I reached the point that something had to be done. I started researching options. I consulted a traditional dentist who was very frank with both the condition of my teeth as well as my options. If anything could be salvaged, it would be time consuming, painful, and expensive. My consultation appointment was scheduled on a day that snowed and the roads were not in the best condition. It took me awhile to reach the Dallas office, but I knew that if I didn't keep that appointment that I might not reschedule it. Once my partner and I arrived, we met with Alexis and had my consultation and CT scan. Everyone that we met with was kind, gentle, and understanding of my anxiety and embarrassment. No one made me feel ashamed of the state of my teeth. We worked out a financing plan that best suited our needs and scheduled the procedure. The morning of my procedure, we arrived at the office and were escorted to a private room that would be ours for the day. The staff were professional, reassuring, and overall outstanding. Dr. Yang did my extractions and implants. He is phenomenal. He listened to my fears and concerns and was compassionate and caring. When I explained that I always have nausea and vomiting with any type of anesthesia, he listened to me and made sure to treat the nausea and ensure that I did not vomit. If I felt any discomfort, it was addressed. I left the office with my temporary implants in and ice packs in place, nausea free and only mild discomfort. My recovery and healing were what I expected. I did have swelling to my face, bruising, and discomfort but had medications in place to treat each one. Dr. Yang checked up on me the day after my procedure to ensure that I was recovering well and to check on my pain and nausea. During the next few months, I reached out the office a few times, Dr. Yang and staff were available for any issues or concerns that I needed to address, from issues with the bite of the temporary implants to an "Is this normal?" question. Any time I was in the office, the staff were exceptional at explaining what they were doing, what I should expect, and answering any questions that I had. This helped my anxiety immensely and no one was ever annoyed or irritated with me. When it came time to design my final implants, I felt overwhelmed with the options, but the staff and Dr. Yang helped to guide me through the process. Dr. Yang worked with me to ensure that we were both happy with the results in both appearance and fit. I received my permanent implants almost 2 weeks ago and I am so happy. I am smiling every day now, no longer hiding or embarrassed. I laugh without covering my mouth. I no longer have any pain. I can eat anything I want again; I missed raw carrots so much. I cannot say enough good things about Fast New Smile and its staff. I tend to call them the Dream Team. It really is what they are. They all work in tandem to change lives and make dreams come true. My story begins at about the age of 13. That's when I noticed my bite was off a little. I had lost a few baby teeth too early and so my smile was a little slanted, but nothing that couldn't be fixed. Over time that issue became an even bigger struggle for me. That coupled with my anxiety to see the dentist really took it's toll on me. I didn't immediately schedule treatment after my consultation, but Candace from Dr. Almasri's office made sure to follow-up and check in on me frequently. They were eager to work with me to fix my issues which is not something I experienced with any of the other practices I had visited. Their eagerness put me at ease and I knew they were the practice I wanted to work with. They are knowledgeable, friendly and care about their patients and it was very apparent from the first visit. When surgery day arrived I had anxiety about the procedure, but everyone on staff was SO EXCITED for me and their excitement put my worries away. Shortly after my arrival to the office I was asleep, and in what seemed like only a few minutes, I was awake and ready for the placement of my new smile. The only part of the surgery I remember was hearing Dr. Almasri singing along to country music. When I tell people about the surgery, the first thing they ask is, did it hurt? And it honestly it did not. For as invasive of a procedure as it is, Dr. Almasri really knows what he's doing. I barely used any of my pain medication and the care packet they send you home with is very detailed so you know exactly what to expect. They even provide you with their personal numbers in case there are any additional questions after surgery which really alleviated my worries. It was around my one week follow-up visit that my swelling was at a minimum and I felt like actually putting myself together; makeup, hair, etc. It was THAT day that I sent photos of myself to my family and coworkers who had not seen me since before surgery. They could NOT believe the transformation I had undergone. Everyone was so excited for me and I just smiled ALL DAY LONG that day. It's still crazy to me that a procedure that took only a few hours has dramatically changed my life and erased the 20 years of dental issues I had. Dr. Almazri & his staff at Fast New Smile are by far THE BEST in the dental implant industry. I came to them, seriously defeated & depressed, after a failed implant surgery. You see - I had relied on the (bad) advice of a previous dentist & gotten dentures. See - when some dentist is pushing a denture on you - they forget to tell you about the bone loss that will occur after your teeth are removed. With no teeth to hold in place - the bone dissipated & was gone. Dentures = WORST MISTAKE EVERRRRR!!! My beautiful smile was destroyed by dentures that were not replications of MY teeth - they were too short, uncomfortable & ugly. After living with a less than attractive smile and finally with just broken teeth, I knew I had to do something for many years. My doctors agreed as I was not able to properly chew my food, however, they were also concerned due to my health problems. I have had heart disease for 19 years and on blood thinners so was concerned about the procedure. I have always has dental issues, even as a kid. I was even kicked out of my dentisits office when he tried to clean my teeth as it was extremely painful. Over the years, I would always have some kind of pain which costs $1000's of dollars a year! When I met with Dr Almasri in 2013, he diagnosed my issues and put together a plan to replace all of my lower teeth with Implants instead of just repairing them. He put me under and had to rebuild my lower jaw before he added the implants. I was in his office for a day and when he was done, I had a full set of lower teeth. I had reached the point where I had to replace my dentures with implants. I had very little bone left and a couple of dental implant places I visited in the area told me that it would be a long and expensive procedure with bone grafting etc. and the results were not guaranteed. He looked at the CT Scans and told me that I had lost a lot of bone but that would be no problem. I searched for four years to find someone reputable and excellent in performing whole mouth implants. I went to FastNewSmile and met Dr. Almasri after going to another dental implant specialty office in Dallas at which I did not feel comfortable. As soon as I met Dr. A, I knew I made the right choice. He is charming, fun, and makes you feel like all he is concerned about is your teeth, how they will look, and that you will walk out of there happy. The other place I had gone to made me feel like all they were really interested in was the $$$. Dr. A said that I would never leave his office in pain, and I never have. After surgery there was, miraculously, no pain. He had given me a prescription for painkillers which I never needed. A couple of Advil and the slight soreness was gone. I feel compelled to say a few words about having dental implants especially by FAST NEW SMILE. This is a medical procedure and it's not minor. My husband David as a child had his front teeth knocked out in sports. Through the years he had several bridges done. His last failure he was told his teeth were in bad shape. Dr. Almasri is excellent and has a great staff. Having been in the medical profession I don't impress easily. This was evident when I had a consult at a different center. It seemed more like a PR promotion there. From the moment we met I was impressed and at ease with Dr. Almasri. He has an extensive resume and is a perfectionist who will do what needs to be done to achieve the best result. This is why instead of 4 implants I have 5 and the cost was still less than the other center I consulted. He also is the only dentist who guarantees your denture for your lifetime.
