GoodLife had its hay day when you could swing a chemical free carrot around in Adelaide and not hit an organic restaurant for miles. In the early 2000's they challenged the norm and people raved about their "all organic ingredients" and the "locally sourced produce" on their pizzas. They created unique toppings that people hadn't seen before like roasted veggies or fresh salmon and at the time you were willing to pay a $26-30 price tag for their food. But now you can't walk 2 blocks in Adelaide without someone doing something gluten-free, vegan, organic or buzzword of the day "sustainable." Our vibrant city is producing more food conscious take-away, sit down and supermarket outlets that sell organic at reasonable prices. Perhaps we should have sat down for a meal here because $80 for 2 takeaway pizzas and a salad of lettuce, 2 olives and half a tomato didn't make me feel like I'd spent my money well for a lazy dinner. The pizza base was oily, the ingredients were bland and the pizza lacked any flavour. Dollops of creamy aioli the size of a 20 cent piece on each piece of salmon pizza meant I ended up eating mainly salmon on an oily base. The same applied for the giant prawn pizza where a quarter of a tomato and prawn was stuck on the end of each piece of pizza and meant the rest of the pizza was bland and just doughy. If I were solely rating take away this place would have been 2 stars. But I know the dining experience here is pleasant and adds to the value of the price. All I can suggest is that they re-evaluate the price of a take away pizza menu here because that might change my tone. read more

With one of the more up and coming locations (well according to me) in Adelaide, this Good Life on Hutt Street serves the same great food nd drinks as the others. The pizzas are a little pricey, but they are really good, filling, organic and use quality ingredients. My favorite is the veto special which has broccoli on it, who would have thought broccoli on a pizza? But is works, trust me. There is a fair bit of indoor seating with brown paper as your table cloth, and some small tables it the front on the footpath. But my favorite place to sit is out the back corner in a group in the semi enclosed private area. I've had a few birthday dinners here and this area is perfect. The service is the best thing I noticed here in Hutt Street. The girls were soooo friendly! Not too overbearing but greeted us genuinely, sat us down, gave us menus and explained the specials. Then one after the other a couple of girls asked if we wanted water, order drinks, bring drinks, order food, and checked if it was alright. Then after we received the bill (which is all table service) we left and they were running out to say goodbye. They left a very good impression and almost made us laugh they were that happy. read more

I went to GoodLife for a wedding dinner along with my husband and toddler as part of a group of 15. We had The Stable out the back which is a cool private dining space, even if it did smell a little like the nearby toilets on arrival. We had the banquet option; starters of dips and garlic bread then a number of large pizzas plus salad and vegetables for $28.50pp. I had the salami, bacon and margarita varieties. All of which were good, salami maybe a little oily, but I could have easily gone another slice or two and my husband stopped on the way home for a large Whopper meal. However, his legs are hollow and his waistline trim. Annoyingly. I wouldn't say this was totally a toddler-friendly place as it was very difficult to manoeuvre the pram through the dining areas out to the Stable and there were no baby change facilities. They did provide a high chair though. Still, the enjoyment of the occasion was high and the dining was really secondary to that. As other reviewers have mentioned, GoodLife no longer corner the posh pizza market so may need to lift their game or drop their prices accordingly. read more

I find this place wanky and pretentious. The promise of an organic pizza in itself is just a tad bit ridiculous. The place has more of a wannabe hippie vibe, but they haven't quite pulled it off. Whilst I appreciate paying money for good dining experiences, this place is just way too overpriced, on my last visit there I was charged $25 for corkage when I took a $20 bottle of wine in to have with my pizza. Had they told me the price first, I probably would have refrained from drinking my bottle and taken it home with me, but they decided to spring that on me at the last moment when leaving. read more

Trendy much?! Good life has that widely Gen Y appeal for its organic food and its rustic settings. Expense is it's only downfall, but do you know what? You feel secretly swanky sitting in their restaurants, being waited on hand and foot and paying a little to much for what is provided. I guess you're paying for the organic appeal and probably the marketing. The service here is unbelievable, almost silver service-esque. The waiters are always at your table and know plenty about the food and its local organic sources. Local organic soft drink is also on offer here and gives you once again that chuffed feeling of slight cocky, 'i'm drinking organic, what are YOU drinking? Coke? pfft.' - And I freaking love (diet) coke. Coeliac and Gluten free friendly, the pizzas are so tasty with big chunks of local organic meats and vegetables - my favourite is the swiss brown mushrooms (a meal for me without meat?! crazy!!). Mainly because I love mushrooms. Brilliant followed by an affagato and preluded by dips or garlic breads (even gluten free options). The inside dining area is small but really atmospheric and the outside area is sweet, with fairy lights and beautiful plants. Always busy, defiantly book!! read more

Once upon a time, Goodlife was T.H.E Pizza King (Or Queen, depending on how you look at it) But my last few visits here (and the other Goodlife stores) have been sub-par. Not enough toppings, small servings, oily and when it comes down to it, over priced. The ethos of the chain that put it up on its old pedal stool is awesome - local, local, local and they do still follow this but unfortunately for them, a few others realised they were onto a good thing and have not only knocked them off that pedal stool but built a whole other shelf above them. I've had the pleasure of devouring Good Life Pizzas on many occasions. It's great that they are organic, but I also like the flavours. I love the fresh crisp bread base they use, I've never had soggy pizza at Good Life.. I've homed in on a couple of favourites. I do love the flavours of the Roast Duck Pizza and also the Double Smoked Bacon pizza.Though it's probably time they looked at changing a few choices.. Add on a slice of nice Garlic Bread and a Greek side salad and you're good to go. read more

I think Goodlife pizza is over-rated. It's expensive and really doesn't taste that good. The first time I went there I was expecting a mind-blowing delicious pizza. Instead I got something very average that I had to pay a lot for. As a vegetarian I was faced with very limited options. I thought that since it was organic there would have been a large range of vegetarian options. I settled on a mushroom pizza with a garlic aioli. There was too much mushroom (I'm obsessed with mushroom so there definitely was a lot) and the aioli tasted wrong, or off. The service wasn't particularly nice and was quite slow, not really improving my experience at Goodlife. Every time I have been there it has been packed, often with a line going out the door. So I would definitely book if you plan on heading there. As it is packed most nights I must be missing something. So don't just take my word for it. However, if you do want a good pizza there are plenty of other options around Adelaide. Head slightly further into the city and you can get $6 delicious pizzas from the Botanic. read more

It is okay. Not the best tasting pizza i ever tried in my life, but it is fine. Not sure if it is a must, but the idea of organic food and the restaurant's locations and indoor seating and crowded with people give it that push to stand out. Wow... And I don't mean that in any positive way. Let me preface what I'm about to say with this. I REALLY don't like giving negative reviews. But once in a while you have an experience so abhorrent that you are left with very little recourse. I'll start with the positives. Good Life Pizza is situated in a beautiful building on Hutt street. Ok, now that's out of the way. Pretentious. It sums up Good Life almost perfectly. The idea that 'organic' and locally sourced ingredients could make superior food one is willing to pay exorbitant prices for, isn't new or even unfounded. They key is actually having a finished product that meets those expectations. This is where Good Life fails abysmally. When paying $40 a pizza, you expect a good pizza. Alas that is NOT what I received. Spencer Gulf monster prawns. It sounds so promising. The prawns weren't 'monster' and frankly their freshness and quality were dubious at best. Barossa Valley double smoked bacon. To a bacon connoisseur, this sounds like heaven on a plate. But again, it was lacking. Maybe it was the base letting it down, or the pineapple that didn't have the punch one would expect from a fresh organic product, once again I was left disappointed. The pizza base, allegedly made from local organic flour, filtered water and aged for 24 hours was, well, tasteless. One thing I will give it, is that when warmed up a day or two later, the crust is just as stiff and bland as when it was fresh from the oven. At least it's consistent. I'm not going to go on about the service or nearly criminal corkage charges, as the food is reason enough to stay home and order domino's. Kudos to the owner. Creating a successful business by preying on peoples irrationality and fear or 'non organic' foods is clearly a winning recipe. It's just a shame the finished product doesn't live up to the hype. If you are after a good pizza experience, look elsewhere. If you're after good food, look elsewhere. If you want to be able to say you eat allegedly organic local foods only, then this place is for you. read more

Goodlife is a trendy pizza place that has had a lot of success using interesting, fresh organic local produce. It's moderately expensive for pizza, but the seasonal nature of their menu ensures quality is always there. It's a basic combination that Adelaideians have been happy to support and the Goodlife crew now have 3 Restaurants... Hutt St, Glenelg and North Adelaide. I love to get a small Pizza and a side salad for the perfect combination of naughty and nice! The menu is alway super limited... around 9 pizzas, a couple of sides, a couple of breads and a handful of wines by the glass, but that's all you need when the Pizza is this good. They have gluten free bases also now which caters for those with new fangled dietary requirements. Don't be fooled by the brown paper on the tables and the bottles of fancy water (which they will charge you for) this place has broad appeal. Hipsters and families alike are vulnerable to the charms of this modern era pizza joint. read more

Mmmmm life IS good when you're eating this delicious pizza. My fave location is the Hutt St one, firstly as it's this gorgeous bluestone cottage, that probably had genuine home-made cooking here many moons ago. Next if you're really lucky you'll get to sit in front of the darling little windows overlooking the street. I like views. I also like pizza - ALOT - and at Goodlife it's fan-friggin-tastic! The ingredients taste fresh and the vegetables actually seem to have absorbed nutrients in their growing cycle. It's a pity, but this is a rare treasure in this day and age of pesticides and too-fast crop rotation. It's the kind of food that exemplifies simplicity and quality are the best. Saturday 24 January 15, we dined at Goodlife, Glenelg - we have eaten both there & Hutt St for a number of years. The staff were pleasant, except for being told that they were closing in an hour when we arrived at 9.30pm (we were aware of that & didn't think it would be a problem)! Within 10 mins lights were being turned off, doors closed etc, there were 10 other diners at the time! I ordered a large Margarita, my husband a Salami, the pizzas arrived - his was both burnt around the edges & parts of the salami; both pizzas had the topping finishing about 5 cms from the edge, I mentioned that we were unhappy with the topping mainly just in the middle of the pizzas & that if we wanted large crusts we would have chosen Pizza Hut. We were offered replacements, but in view of the fact we were the only people left in the restaurant now, their closing down technique had cleared the restaurant successfully, we said we would just eat the centre part & they offered our drinks complimentary. My pizza was tasty & I was enjoyed the centre, until halfway through I found there was an abundance of Rock Salt on the 2nd half.....it was crunchy as if eating broken glass, very salty (obviously) & made my tongue & lips begin to burn...I couldn't eat anymore. We were very disappointed with the whole visit & told the staff when we paid, we also told them that we would not be visiting their restaurant again. We are unhappy with the quality of food at the Glenelg restaurant, hopefully Hutt St hasn't gone downhill too!!!! read more
