Decided to have lunch at this already packed place. That must be a good sign about Goodies. We took a seat outside as it just stopped raining and inside it was too hot (it had been warm yesterday, probably no airco). We just started to enjoy a glass of fine white house wine (do not hesitate, they have one kind, but it is surprisingly good), when it started to rain again. But though as we are, we stayed, moved a bit more under the sunshade and checked out the menu. For lunch they offer all kinds of sandwiches and bagels, one kind of soup and some salads and they have a small dinner card with starters as off 17h and the rest as off 18h. Luckily some people left so we could change to inside, cause we really wanted to try some of these goodies and the rain got worse! The waiter was very friendly and passionate. He adviced me not to take two dishes (you gotta be really hungry then! I was, but we decided to share a salad instead, was a good advice!). The bagel with scrambled egg, cream cheese and salmon was a classic, but a good one. One minor detail: they should really change to sharper knives, this bagel was hard to crack and I don't like fighting with my food. The salad with warm goat cheese, pumpkin seeds and cashew nuts was very fresh and a good company for a bagel. It was true it was enough, but I wouldn't have mind some bonus bites ;-). Service was good, only took a bit too long before the food came, not the annoying long, we had a seat in front of the window, so enough distraction, but still. When we asked for the bill we got a wrong one. Lucky for them I noticed, cause it was half the price we should have. A very nice thing is that they put a bottle of tap-water on the table without asking. Nice service. And the place is cosy, good atmosphere, fresh flowers on the tables with eye for detail. Yes, it's a place where you feel that the owners like what they do. read more
