To be honest I've never been a big fan of Chinese food, probably because of one too many greasy take-outs. And then a friend dragged me to the Good World restaurant- I won't say I've completely changed my mind but I did like the dinner here. We went for the early bird menu and I had spring rolls for starters, Chow Mein and banana fritters as dessert- all for 17.50 Euro!!!- and the food was delicious. The spring rolls were maybe a bit too greasy but that's really the worst I can say about the food. The staff were friendly enough and I can recommend this place to anyone who likes Chinese food.

Easy to find with parking a block away. Small quiet even romantic atmosphere. Very good Chinese food! They serve dim sum until 5:00.

Looking for Dim Sum in Dublin, I received a recommendation for this place on Georges St. Looking at the menus posted outside the restaurant, I started to have second guesses about this place actually having dim sum as it is not well highlighted (I think they highlight these 2 portion and three portion lunch and dinners instead). I decided to proceed anyway and to my delight, when i sat down and opened the menu, the first two pages are exclusively dim sum! This place is a nice, authentic Chinese dining experience and it is not surprising why this place really fills up at lunch time. There was a wait for tables despite the numerous dining options around this area. I ordered way to much dim sum which always seems to happen every time I go to a dim sum restaurant. It is way to easy with each set of 3-4 pieces costing only 3-4 Euro. It was not difficult to finish every last piece though (dumplings, rolls, buns). This place makes incredible dim sum and they have most options you could desire. My one complaint is that they didn't seem to really have dumpling sauce. Every other time I have ever had dim sum, it is served with a dumpling sauce. To their credit, they did give us soy sauce and a sauce platter with spicy sauce, mayo type sauce and garlic sauce, but just not the same as I had experienced in the past. The dim sum was great without the sauce anyway. Maybe my past experiences of dumpling sauce with dim sum was the "Americanized version".

This is my favourite Chinese restaurant! The reason: the most delicious dim sum ever! This place is full of Chinese people which is a great sign and they all know the best place to go for dim sum in Dublin ! If you've never been here before they will automatically give you a standard green menu which has the normal european Chinese dishes we're all used to; curry, sweet and sour, green pepper and black bean sauce etc. Ask for the dim sum menu and try at least one dish! if you're prepared to order solely from the dim sum menu then it works out very reasonable if you go with one or more person. The more the better! I'd recommend the glutinous rice wrapped in lotus leaf, char Sui bun or char Sui puff and if you like fish then the prawn dumpling is a must have (It's delicious and I get it each time I'm there). The chinese bok choi vegetables with ginger and garlic are lovely too. For the more adventurous of you; try any cheung fun dish (prawn is my favourite) and the yam croquette! ! The dim sum will be served with Chinese green tea which compliments it perfectly. At first I found the staff to be not overly friendly but certainly not rude. Since becoming a regular i always get a big smile and a friendly welcome and the staff are engaging and attentive. Its gotten to the point where i really feel like they go that extra mile to make a fuss of me. If they get to know you then they are very friendly and they remember dishes you like and whether you like to eat from a bowl with chopsticks of from a plate with a knife and fork! So to summarise, if you've never been then go with an open mind and an appetite! I promise that you'll leave with a big smile and a full and happy tummy!

Our lunch being consumed. Ha gau in the foreground, long shrimp noodle behind it.

Best Northern, Shanghai style Chinese food in Ireland. Highly recommend the dishes that come in the hot pots, and their dim sum of course.

Bad food and way to expensive! On top of that the wait staff is very unfriendly. Go someplace else!

Loved the vibes of this place and the wait staff, though incredibly busy, still made the time to make sure we had everything we needed as food was delivered to our table. We can honestly say we did not have one bad bite of food. To our surprise, the Spice Bag was the thing we thought was the least impressive of the bunch. Still very good, but everything else was so much better. Wish there was a little more chicken in it. The Pan Fried Dumplings were maybe some the best we ever had. Do not skip the Cucumber Salad, this dish is incredibly underrated. The Chicken Satay was very good, not sure if I would get it again. The Thai Basil Beef was a stunner! Huge flavor bomb! In fact, do not skip any beef dish they have. The Crispy Chili Chicken was the best part of a Spice Bag, without the fries. The Duck Wings had amazing flavor, wished they were served a bit hotter. Everything I am mentioning as a criticism is slight and minor FYI. If we ever come back to Dublin, we are coming straight here! Also, do not sleep on their cocktail menu! Amazing drinks!

We ordered their homemade dumplings which was boiled dipped in a special soy sauce. Veggies, beef, seafood, pork were all very good. I do recommend this place if you're looking for delicious Chinese food without breaking the bank!

Best genuine Chinese we've had in Dublin. Heck, it's probably up there too if it were in LA…read more We were famished after a 2.5 hr movie at the Savoy on O'Connell and Chinese places were the only ones still open at 10:30pm. It's what we would've wanted anyway, but by the time we walked over, it was 10:45. There was only 1 other table still there and we were still greeted warmly, as we sheepishly popped our head in. We were presented with Chinese menus, which were not an issue for me, but my husband doesn't read Chinese. No problem, they had English menus as well. I noticed that the Chinese menu had a lot of 家常菜 or 'homestyle dishes', (at roughly 14-20 Euros) which are usually meant for sharing as a 4-top, or a family. Therefore, they're a bit more labor intensive and is not just a stir-fry/takeout menu. However, on the last few pages, there were smaller individual dishes at around 7-10Euros, and that's what we went with as we didn't want leftovers and wanted to eat quickly and turn in. As shown in the photos, we got 2 noodle soups and they turned out huge!!! I got the 3 seafood with mushrooms rice thick noodles (三鮮菇米線)while hubby got the beef noodle soup (牛肉麵). They didn't skimp on the meats, seafood, or the noodles. We devoured everything in roughly 10 minutes and polished off the pot of tea plus some lamb skewers by 11:05. The staff didn't seem bothered that we had overstayed closing time, and were still very courteous. I may be biased bc I very much love getting stuffed on noodles and soups, but this was one of the best meals I've had in Europe.

The short version: I loved my meal so much I ate here twice on a 7 day trip…read more The long version: A friend who lives in town had been dying to snag a table since Lucky Tortoise opened. They always keep space for walk-ins and we were able to snag a seat for just enough time to have the All In for 2. You essentially get small plates of EVERYTHING on the menu to share, and for €20 per person, we figured why the hell not? The food was delicious from start to finish and absolutely worth the gracious price point. The service was quick and friendly and we were walked thru each dish as it arrived. The portions were perfect for the two of us and we left full and happy for a night of drinking whiskey around town. When I came back on my own for the second time, I was both thrilled and surprised that the All In for 1 was a massive amount of food for one person. The first few dishes had similar servings sizes as we got for 2 people, with the dumplings and onion pancake being halved. Again, I ate very well and was entirely ready for the rest of my night out after. Now: this is NOT traditional dim sum, but it's still fabulous dumplings and related small bites. I could eat an entire jar of the kimchi on its own. The peanut slaw is unusual but tasty. And now I'm writing this review I don't remember what it was called -- but it was a toasted dumpling of some kind with pancetta???? To die for !! Things to know: they'll never have a phone number and, like much of Ireland, the hours online are generally a suggestion so plan to either book a reservation online or swing by and poke your head in. The dining space is VERY small, so be prepared to get cozy with your table neighbors.
