Loved! On the hunt for vintage lumber siding to build a rustic shelter with a reclaimed look. Our…read morecarpenter friend told us about a new place on Sandy Blvd to check out. First impressions of the showroom included a rustic oversized live edge dining table, and many cool vintage pieces. Samantha gave us a tour of the lumber inside the warehouse, and was super knowleable and friendly. If you love wood like we do you're gonna love this place! It's loaded with old growth of every size, salvaged from historic buildings and homes. This is beautiful stuff: 100 to 300 years old which makes it more resistant to rot. We quickly found what we needed and Tracee gave us pricing and gave us a bit of history on the building and the business. Soft open 6 months (at the time we visited) the location is the temporary home of Reclaim NW until they find a permanent location. Fun fact! When they vacate the building it will be carefully deconstructed and repurposed. What will take its place is a building slated for affordable rent to teachers, social workers and others that work toward ending homelessness in Portland. Admire the huge wood beams and be sure to look up at the amazing curved ceiling in the warehouse while you're here.

Their lovely showroom and a huge warehouse full of slabs (granite, quartzite, marble, limestone, Neolith, and more) is located on SE 26th. I had the pleasure of taking a guided tour of the facility. Customer service was excellent, you can tell these folks care about what they do and want to see your project succeed. They're honest about the realities of natural stone (like staining and etching) so you can make the right choice. They use a $-$$$$ system to communicate approximate price levels. When choosing natural stone, you really have to see the entire slab - and for many of these stones, people have an emotional reaction. So it makes sense that this facility is a pleasure to visit. It's almost guaranteed you will leave inspired.

Intrepid Marble and Granite also carries Quartzite, Zircon, Quartz, slabs etc…read more I love that they have unusual slabs from around the world that the other slab showrooms don't have. Their website is also top notch. Their website shows available inventory and incoming inventory, of which customers can put holds on, before they arrive. Their staff are very nice and helpful. Beverly suggests making an appt before you come in, to insure that there's someone present to assist you with any questions. When Drew is there, he can give you even more details on the slabs. We were in yesterday, and he moved some slabs with the forklift, to get one I wanted to see. He brought it out into a space near the door, so that we could see it in natural light. If there's something on their website that you like, call for an appt first, so that they can find it for you, as they are still currently moving into this new location.
