Good Value Thrift & Bargains is more than just a thrift store! We’re a locally owned Chesapeake business offering a unique mix of quality thrifted finds, brand-new merchandise, furniture, mattresses, appliances, clothing, shoes, accessories, home goods, electronics, overstock and more—all at prices designed to help our customers save.
What makes us different is that you never know what you’ll find! New merchandise arrives regularly, and we work hard to offer real bargains and affordable options for every budget. Look for weekly specials, our popular $5 Bag Sale on the last Saturday of every month, and other in-store promotions.
Need something bigger? We offer local delivery on furniture, mattresses and appliances. We also offer **financing with no credit required** on qualifying purchases, making it easier to get what you need today.
We also make donating convenient with furniture and appliance pickup available for approved items.
At Good Value, our goal is simple: provide great deals, friendly service and a constantly changing selection that makes every visit worth the trip.
History
Established in 2018.
Good Value Thrift & Bargains was purchased in 2018 by two brothers with a vision: create a different kind of thrift store where customers could shop for both quality pre-owned items and brand-new merchandise under one roof.
What started as a traditional thrift store has grown into something much more. Today, Good Value offers thrifted treasures alongside new and overstock furniture, mattresses, appliances, clothing, home goods and more.
Our mission has remained the same since day one—give our community more choices, better value and a place where everyone can find a great deal.
More Than Just a Thrift Store. Shop More. Save More. Good Value!
Meet the Business Owner: Martin H.
My journey into business ownership was inspired by a desire to build something of my own while creating opportunities for others. After years working in IT management and customer service, I wanted to take the leadership, problem-solving, and operational skills I had developed and apply them to entrepreneurship.
In 2018, my brother and I purchased Good Value with a vision of creating more than just a thrift store—a place where families could find quality pre-owned merchandise alongside affordable brand-new furniture, mattresses, appliances, and everyday necessities under one roof.
What continues to motivate me is seeing customers find something they need at a price they can afford, creating jobs, giving merchandise a second life, and building a business that contributes to the community. For me, Good Value is about proving that great value, opportunity, and community can all exist in the same place.
