Good has missed the mark with a has-been concept, a to-go juice bar that also makes "fresh" organic foods.
I thought nothing of the fact that there were few clients in the restaurant--it was nearing 4pm so that wouldn't have explained anything about the quality of the food. I did spend a while choosing my dish, because nothing looked amazingly appetizing (again, this could signal that Good Organic was truly organic, and spent more time worrying about the food, less about presentation. Then again, the lady was shaking up all the juice bottles at the front of the shelves as I walked in, so maybe they did care about appearance more than the food itself). I settled on a small salmon chirashi bowl which, with a juice, came to a menu formula of 16€! But, okay, sushi is often more filling than it looks.
Turns out it wasn't.
The juice I tried (apple, dandelion, kale) was fine, the salmon bowl was bland (I had to add the little bottle of soy sauce to flavor the bed of cabbage upon which it rested--and it turns out the soy sauce was sweet. So much for healthy!), and I was still hungry 20 minutes after eating. What a waste of 16€.
I regret not going to Cojean across the street, or Pret a little further away. read more
