I decided to give this local restaurant my business for the first time rather than going to a chain restaurant or something further into town. My expectations must've been too high because I was highly disappointed!! The food is far from being good enough to warrant their prices. My food was barely warm. There was very little taco meat (ground beef) given for my taco bowl. Plus it didn't really have much flavor to it. The salsa didn't look or taste like salsa. Instead it reminded me of a tomato sauce. It was just plain gross is how I can describe it. The queso was just a thick glob of mediocre tasting dip. Nothing thrilling at all and lacked taste. For $16.50 plus a $2 tip for one person to eat, I feel like I got ripped off and ticked off!! For the money I could've & should've went to El Torel or Taco Bell even. It's a shame, I really wanted to like this place but didn't. Sorry to be so candid but I seriously could've cooked a far better taco meal at home myself. Again this is just my opinion and experience.

North End can be a nice change of pace for Mexican-inspired or gringo-friendly versions of soft…read moretaco classics. We often go for the bowls that have good options with the expected of ground beef but also barbacoa and pork carnitas options with a range of dressings that go beyond the usual suspects. We tried the caprese crostini board with four narrow slices of bread with pesto sauce, fresh mozz & a slice of tomato on top. Didn't pretend to be a traditional caprese and I found them to be a nice amount that was in no danger of filling you up before the meal. My dining companion enjoyed the frozen drink. There really are two versions of this restaurant that really changes the experience. Like so many things, restaurants in Athens are one thing when classes are in session and quite another during breaks and the summer. North End is a place for us when classes are out because it isn't as busy, nowhere near as loud, and a more chill vibe.

The style of the food was not to my liking. It may have been very authentic but I didn't like the food. The salsa was puréed tomatoes with seasonings added, no texture. I got enchiladas: the cheese was OK, the chicken was awful, and the ground beef was good. After the meal I had to go buy a Coke to get the taste out of my mouth. The restaurant was clean and no complaints; I really disliked the food. It wasn't just me, my wife (who chose the place over my pick) apologized repeatedly, it wasn't good. Not one person loved their meal; not one person liked their meal; our meals were OK. I wouldn't come back.
