It's a convenient location above the 7th Street Metro subway, across from the Target Center, and directly across from the largest building project on the West Coast. Residential lofts, condominiums, bars, and restaurants are being built all around this area. However, this building has stayed stagnant. It lost it anchor tenant in the lobby, and the space has been vacant for several years. I have been working in this building for six years and have endured the ownership troubles suffered in bankruptcy including numerous building management changes. Over the past six years, there has been numerous construction projects that are extermely slow and never seem to end. As tenants, we have to endure elevators that don't work, bathrooms that need repair or need to be relocated to other floors, no air conditioning during the hottest days of the summer, no heating during the coldest days of the winter, dust, asbestos, and construction debris everywhere. The current "renovation" project in the parking garage, sky lobby, and street lobby has been going on for EIGHT months, and there seems to be no end in sight. We have had to endure dangerous scaffolding, dust and debris, lack of lighting, and no heat throughout this project. But with only 2 or 3 workers on the job at a time, these projects seem to never get completed. Hopefully the new owner can turn this building around. ALL of the properties surrounding this building are or will be A++ properties, and hopefully some of this success will spill over to the Figueroa Tower.
