I find it a great place to shop for my husband who is into games in a big way. It's great being able to buy something that I know he will love and actually use. However in the heart of Box Hill parking becomes a nightmare (not to mention a lot of it is ticketed). However, if you're new to any aspect of these kind of games, they'll sure let you know it. For example, I'm a veteran MTG player, but never ordered single cards from there before. So when tell the guy I've got an order that just came in, asks what I ordered. I told him I could give him an order number (the order was quite large) so he replies, "what did you order". So I start to rattle off card for card what I ordered and he stops me and says, "So you have a singles order. That's what you had to say." A little help would've been nice instead of making me feel like a complete noob. Overall, store and contents great, staff and location, not so much.

Gatekeeper Games has every shape/form/fashion of board games. I popped in to make a VERY important purchase... Cards Against Humanity. I walked in and asked where I might find it, as essentially this store is like a library of games - you really do need a bit of direction. They immediately pointed it out to me and took me through the different editions of the game (Australian, American, British) and I quickly made a purchase. I was in and out in just a few minutes - that is efficient customer service! You will also find games including Warhammer, Star Wars Rebellion, Game of Thrones - everything you could imagine. Also, Gatekeeper Games also regularly holds gaming nights - so if you in the market to make new friends and play fun games, you now know where to head.

Okay, I had been past here a couple of times, but had never had the desire, or the time, to pop in and have a look around. Anyway, like a lot of gaming shops, the focus these days tends to be Euro-games and card games, however they do have a small collection of roleplaying games, but the collection is somewhat smallish. However, they also have gaming rooms, and on top of the gaming events, they also have some special nights, including a caberet night, which I have to admit is pretty cool.

I go into this place every time I'm at Knox. As with EB Games, I look around for stuff that interests me, then I usually go home and buy it online.
