They're only open after 5pm a couple of nights during the week, then most of the day on weekends, but their hours seem to be more of a rough guide than anything set in stone. Most of the products you will find in Shop For Me are Lego sets. They have a wide range of sets, including a lot of sets that are usually quite hard to find in stores outside of online stores. They also let you trade the blind-packed Lego Minifigures here, which is great, as anyone who collects them will know how often you end up with a double. Unfortunately they've changed the way they let you trade from being able to swap any old figures to only letting you swap doubles that you receive if you open the packs in-store. The Minifigure packs vary in price depending on who serves you, but if you buy a few they'll usually work out cheaper than anywhere else. They also sell some older loose figures at a higher price, depending on their rarity, and have a couple of discount bins selling cheaper Lego sets. Apart from Lego you can also find a few other collectable figures and statues (mostly superhero and sci-fi stuff) scattered around the front room. Once you head into the dimly lit back room you can find much of the same, with some quite big (and expensive!) statues. They also have a table set up with some larger Lego sets built for display on it. There is coffee on offer here, which I have never been tempted to try, and they do some deals with coffee and Lego at a discounted price. The staff here are friendly and really know their stuff too and are big kids helping other big kids spend their big kid money. You won't find many cheap options here, but the hard to find items definitely make it worth stopping in.

If your love of music extends beyond listening to everything on your phone or computer, you'll be thrilled that stores like Title still exist. Geared towards music collectors, they have a wide range of vinyl available for those that still own record players. Or if you were considering going lo-fi and buying a record player, at least you know you can still get both classic and up to date records for it. Great for gifts if you have a music loving friend or relative. They also stock films and books. I don't even own a DVD player so I typically have no interest in browsing hard copies, but the movie collection at Title is geared more to the cult classics and documentaries, the kind of interesting films that you won't find in those weird vending machines near the supermarket (seriously do people use those?) The book collection is similar - lots of classics and non-fiction books. Again, awesome for gifts. The kind of store you'll likely 'just have a look' and wind up leaving with something unexpectedly awesome.

It's so pleasant in here that I quite deliberately take my time flicking through the CDs, vinyl, DVDs and books, carefully pondering each one and enjoying the sense of peace that comes over me. Title has an excellent collection of hard-to-find film titles on DVD so if there's something you can't find anywhere else, it's likely to be here. If not, just ask the really nice guys who work here and they'll probably be more than happy to have a chat about it with you, and if at all possible, I'm sure they'll order it in for you.

Because it's part of a shopping centre, this particular EB Games isn't that large so I can't be a huge fan of it. However, it does have a decent selection for a lot of the "main games", so if you're looking for something a lot more popular, you can trust this place. PC Gaming: This place is NOT very good for PC Gaming. They have much more of a Xbox or PS3 selection. This is a bit disappointing because PC Gaming is the wave of the future - better graphics and in my opinion, much better control. It sucks that some game shops don't respect it. Essentially, if you're more of an Xbox gamer, this is the store for you. It's not that big, so it'll be good for bigger-named games. However, if you're more of a gaming fan go elsewhere.

I find it hard to resist a toy shop. I always have to pop my head inside and have a browse around,…read moreand usually struggle to resist buying something for myself. Though, I could technically write this off as research since I work in the toy industry, it's not that at all. Most Toyworld stores seem to be quite small and cramped with stuff spilling off the shelf and making it hard to move around. The Brunswick store is far from this. It's quite large and everything is nice and neat and spaced out. Everything is in it's own little section and there is a great variety of toys to be found here. They have a nice selection of Playmobil products, which is great as it is rare to find this stuff in Australia from what I've seen. Usually my first visit section in any toy store is the action figures, but here it was almost non-existent. They were on the ends of a few aisles and in a few other spots but they didn't have much of a choice. Everything that was here seemed fairly new though which is a good thing as action figures tend to hang around on the shelf well past when they are the latest thing. I may have caught them on a bad day (Sunday afternoon) but customer service didn't seem high on the agenda. A couple of younger employees were working and I was the only one in the store and went largely ignored by them. I actually had to go and find one of them when I wanted to make a purchase as nobody was anywhere near the counter/front of store. There's a good range here though, with some toys you might not see anywhere else so it's well worth a pop in to stock up on kid's birthday pressies, Christmas...or if you're like me, a treat for yourself.

On my last visit I spent a lot of my time eyeing a long handmade redgum bench. Sleek and simple it stood in the middle of the store and radiated comfort. Wilkins and Kent have some great kitchenware ranges including the Nigella Lawson range, and some exquisite ceramic bowls. On my last visit I bought some ceramic birds that hang from the wall - glazed with beautiful colours they are beautiful little pieces of art and around the ($50) mark, weren't too expensive. The service at Wilkins and Kent is always great, although the store can get very busy so it may take a while to get some service.
