Pressure was heavy, whereas my friend therapist pressure was lighter. The first room is the foot massage, dim and has about 2 rows of couches. There are two principal massage therapists at the moment. The man is a smoker, and I have an allergy so i noticed and was moderately impacted by this during my hands on 30min massage. He gave excellent pressure but the lingering smoke chemicals triggered inflammation in my throat and face. So, I would definitely ask for a non-smoker if this is important to you. I decided to treat myself for my birthday for a foot massage. When I went in, I decided to do the 60 minute detox package - so it's 30 mins back massage and 30 minutes foot detox with magnetic and TEN pads. The first half was good, no problem. That part was 30 minutes. The second half of the foot detox they just filled the wood bucket with warm water and I sat there for 30 mins. When I told them they didn't do the magnetic part and the TEN pads the lady didn't speak good English, so she pretended to not know what I was saying. Then they said to go back in for that part, and they would do that for me. The funny part was that there was no one else there at all, so why not do the second part of the package? Now if you've been to any of these Asian massage spots, you already know the deal. It's a hard massage and they call it reflexology. There may be a bit of that going on but basically it's just some deep massaging over your full body. You're in a big room with anyone else who may be getting a massage and as strange as that may sound to this type of massage, it's the norm and you really don't even notice/realize anyone else is there. At Good Foot Spa, they start with the head (ladies, go with your hair down without product so it doesn't get messed up), even doing the ears, a bit of shoulders, arms & hands, down to the legs and then the feet (most of the massage concentrates on the feet). Then you flip on your tummy and they do your shoulders again, upper & lower back, booty and back of the legs. This is pretty much the standard routine at the various Asian massage parlors. Let me start with the bad of Good Foot Spa - -They love the upsell. We went in for the $20 massage and they wanted to get the $30 instead. Honestly, it makes more sense to do the $30 massage so my advice is to go in planning on that. -They talk....a lot. Well at the beginning there was a lot going on & I couldn't chill out completely. My friend and I were getting massages next to each other and our massagers were speaking to each other, albeit in a whisper tone, and the front lady was speaking in a non whispering tone in Mandarin on a fairly long phone call. The talking lasted about 30 minutes and was only here & there. After the initial 30 minutes, it completely ceased. I honestly didn't have a big issue with this but just a warning for others who might. All of the workers were really sweet and I really enjoyed my massage. They play classical music in the background, one song I recognized from a K-drama I watched long ago. One big difference I really liked here was the chairs were much more comfortable then any of the other massage spots I have been. I often leave these types of places with my back hurting a bit, but I had none of that here at all. That alone will have me coming back here. Brand new foot spa, the chairs are plush and super comfortable, I had a great 1 hour foot and body massage for $30! My masseuse did a lot of kneading and massaging which helped relax my muscles, unlike another budget Food Spa I had previously tried where it was more shiatsu style and not very relaxing. Typical of Chinese foot massage/reflexology joint, not a fancy place and the massage is done with your clothes on on a full chair recliner =). My problem with this place is that all customers are in one room so you will be bothered with whispering/talking, snoring, and movement of other customers. And as always with other Asian establishments, they can be abrupt and the lack of English speaking is almost a turn off. I highly recommend requesting for a female masseuse because the men can be on the hard side. With reflexology they use a lot of pressure and female masseuse just gives enough (for me). They do have 2-3 "semi-private" chairs up front. I love the ionic foot detox. It's really just a 30 min foot soak but man I always fall asleep--- soooo good! Some masseuse will show you the water after your soak and will point out the brassiness left in the water claiming this is all stress coming from your body--- hmmmm make your own judgement, I heard its a hoax. This was such a weird experience. I got a Groupon for some sort of foot massage and reflexology treatment, so I decided to try it out because it's pretty close to my house. It's located in a strip mall, surrounded by a wide variety of other businesses. The worst part was that the business next door is some sort of doggie day care. As a result, throughout my treatment, it sounded like dogs were literally barking in my left ear because the walls are so thin. I really wonder which business was there first, because it is quite unfortunate for the foot spa business. The treatment itself was just okay... the technician seemed a bit rushed and wouldn't let me take the towel off of my eyes which just seemed odd because I feel like it should be my choice whether or not to cover my eyes. Honestly, it's pretty great for the price. I've been here twice with the $20 groupon ($15 when groupon has the 20% off deal). With this, you get a 30 minute ion cell detox cleanse foot soak and a 30 minute neck, shoulder and foot massage. Massage: The massage itself is amazing. I'm usually not very good with massages, but this place has me relaxed to the point where I genuinely get sad when it's over. The only down side is when the lady checks in people or takes phone calls while massaging you. It's not something that really bothers me, but just a heads up. Foot Soak: The ion detox foot soak is literally just sitting there with your foot soaked for 30 mins (I prefer to do this part first, so I can end the hour with the massage). It is pretty cool to see what color the water is when you're done. They don't explain it to you, so it'll just take some simple googling.
