I would like to commend Walgreens for taking a high profile vacant retail space on The Hill and…read moreproviding a selection of goods that goes beyond duplication of what else is available in the immediate neighborhood. That being said, it is a real shame they have not followed the lead of a major national competitor and removed the sale of cigarettes from their supposed health oriented business plan. They have filled all three levels of this former bookstore facility. The basement level is the vitamin, supplements, first aid and quasi medical supplies that you would find in other chains, offering both national brands and private store brands. Plenty of sizes available which seems to be a failing of the big groceries and discount box stores. There is no prescription pharmacy at this location. Being adjacent to campus, they are serving a population that generally receives University healthcare which includes their own, and very affordable pharmacy. The main level still sells CU gear as before along with school supplies, tech accessories and gift items. There is a grocery section including refrigerated and freezer cases of convenience foods. The upper mezzanine level includes beauty, personal care and household cleaning supplies. On opening day, there was plenty of staff and checkouts on the main floor and the mezzanine. I doubt they will maintain so much staff unless they attract a larger number of customers. The prices are higher than you would find at a destination big box but if you sign up for rewards membership, it becomes far more competitive. This is true of all such health chains. Today my member savings was over $8. Get rid of the cigarettes and I will go up a star!

Located on The Hill, across the street from the University of Colorado's Western edge, this store…read morehas solid customer service, late hours (open until midnight), and three levels of items. Parking immediately north of the building, but limited. Easy access from campus via a nearby pedestrian underpass and adjacent to a RTD stop (Broadway & College). Freezer and fridge contains a lot of beverage and food options. Any of your usual needs at a Walgreen's are available, but there is no pharmacy on-site. Clean and very organized. Thankful for Karen, who was so helpful when i was shopping on the top floor.

The pharmacy is okay, but if I need meds I will just get them from the local VA hospital as they…read moreare much faster, and deliver regular refills to your home. They have a fair assortment of lotions, food powders and the like. A rather large portion of the store is dedicated to make-up for some reason as well. There is a meager toy section that is VERY overpriced so veer the children away from it. Animal food etc., is bare bones and about the same as you'd find at Big Lots. Some greeting/birthday cards as well as gift bags etc., for those of us who totally buy a gift the day of a birthday because we forgot. Great selection of regular over-the-counter medicines near the pharmacy. The food aisles are packed full of unhealthy food. I mean I understand having them there as a convenience, but this Walgreens in its current location serves as a grocer for a lot of lower income people nearby and they should have access to healthier foods rather than garbage that's saturated in fat and sodium. Speaking of healthy, why does a pharmacy sell tobacco products still? It's rather strange to me. The store is clean, and the staff is alright (they can be curt sometimes). The hours are a big draw as there are a great deal of late night boozehounds/meth-heads that meander from the dive hotels nearby so be on your toes. There can be some seedy people in the area.

I haven't found any prescription prepared within a reasonable time. Staff acts like it's my problem that they are two or three hours behind on prescriptions. Stay away unless you've got half a day to wait for simple prescriptions, refills, or new it doesn't make any difference.

AVOID THIS WALGREENS LIKE THE PLAGUE. Not only do they have…read morekids running the place who are unable to be professional and properly conduct business at this national chain, but their photo center is trash. Complete dumpster fire. None of the kiosk work, cords don't work, app to link to this store don't work. The employees happily make themselves passports for different countries instead of help customers, and they are unable to even run a pharmacy because "a family emergency" supposedly. What is this, an Etsy shop or down home BBQ restaurant? Just go to CVS. Or honestly any Walgreens other than this one. They need a complete professional overhaul, training in professionalism, employees who act like adults, new management, and frankly to be shut down until they can run a business as one should be run. I said what I said.

This review is for photo service- Pro: Passport photo…read moreservice was nice and quick. My husband and I just walked in, and we got the photo within 20 minutes. Con: The photo wasn't good. They didn't use a professional camera. They were using an outdated looking small pocket digital camera (the kind people used to have before iPhone!). The photographer came really up close to shoot a photo, made me feel uneasy, so it clearly showed in my face!
