The falls are amazing but when you ride right up to the falls and you can see them from water level there's just no describing how awesome and powerful nature is! The lines actually moved really quick especially for the amount of tourist that were there. The boat ride is around 20 minutes. The view of the falls from the American side is really good as well when you're riding by. If you're on the American side you can do the Maid of the Mist boat ride, they both take you to the same spot. American boat rides were blue ponchos while the Canadian side wears red. Great for an individual, couple or the whole family! Was not disappointed at all.

It was super easy to locate the meeting point for the boat. As soon as we walked past the main downtown area we saw the blue arches showing Niagara City Cruises. Online there was a disclaimer that even though you are booking a specific time you may need to wait past then to get onto the boat. We arrived at 10:20 for our 10:30 cruise and were promptly beginning out walk down towards the boat at 10:31. When you get to the meeting point for the boat you join a queue that then goes into the lift that will take you down to the boat. There are 2 lifts running at the same time so this process went quickly. Once we made it off of the lift we followed the signage for the departing boat. Before we joined the next queue to get onto the boat employees were handing out ponchos that were included in the ticket price. At this point there was a stand selling snacks and drinks. We did not take advantage of this at this time, so I cannot comment on the quality of the food. We conrinued to head towards the next queue which would lead us onto the boat. We had the option of riding on the top of the boat or the bottom, and we chose the top. It was quiet crowded up there but it did seem like no matter where you stood you had a view-and you were going to get soaked. We were absolutely drenched. They take you right to the bottom of the falls. It was an amazing experience that I am so glad that we did! After our trip I watched the later boats going to the falls and I was shocked at how close the boat actually takes you. At some point the most from the falls was so thick I couldn't see. It felt like we were in a rain storm and we were all cracking up and how crazy it was. This tour is 20 minutes which seems like the perfect amount of time to get drenched. We saw both falls, and no matter what side of the boat you are on you are going to have a great experience. Getting off of the boat was quick and easy. They offer recycling for the used ponchos. When you continue on you will run into the food and drink stands as well as ample seating and restrooms where you can regroup before continuing on. They do take your photo before you get onto the boat, and you have the option to buy it for $50 CAD. This include 2 8x10 prints and a digital download. They do add fun backgrounds to the photos, and they do look like there was some kind of editing done to make the image look a little finer. Converted to USD I thought it was a good price for a great souvenir. I will be hanging the photo in my house! We had very little interaction with the employees, which I feel was a result of them operating efficiently. We didn't have any hold-ups from the time we arrived to when we exited. At the end you queue for the lift to take you back up to the original booth for Niagara City Cruises. From there you can simply keep walking and enjoy the view of the falls from the trail. Quick, efficient, and no frills for a fair price.

We asked if there were good eats on the island as a few places looked close. Someone directed us to the marina and told us we could get fresh food her. When you get of the Centre Island ferry take a right a walk through the black gate. It's definitely off the beaten path. It was so quiet that day, we started getting worried that we were in one of those island horror movies like The Wickerman. However, after we passed the gate we ended up a nice local boating community with a large dock, general store, gas station for boats, and The Upper Deck. It was the hottest day of the summer and we sat out on the deck with loads of sunscreen. There were just a handful of people there. The waitress came to wipe off the table and we ordered food and drinks. I was totally excited when our food came. We ordered the the Cheeseburger with fries and the Turkey club with onion rings. Everything was amazing. The Cheeseburger was perfectly cooked, juicy, and had aged cheddar and a pickle on top. The club had just the right amount of mayo. Suprisingly the fries and rings were equally good. Definitely come here next time you visit the islands. Sure, the Carousel Cafe is good, but I can't imagine their food tasting as awesome as the Upper Deck.

After around 30 minutes we were yet to receive our food, and once we finally did, I was handed something unexpected. I was given an already cold and lame excuse for a pizza that didn't even have cheese on it. I'm not sure if the menu specified that, but I was very displeased. My meal consisted of pesto on bubbly, crunchy bread with a couple pieces of minced chicken. It was very mediocre. After the rest of my table was given their food, we still hadn't received the drinks we had ordered almost 40 minutes prior. Once we told the waitress she came back with them later but had been standing at the bar for a while since there weren't that many other customers there at the time. The drinks we ordered and the other food were decent but still undeserving of the hefty price we were charged. To top it all off, tip was already included in the bill, giving us no freedom to select our desired amount of gratuity. I was not angry, rather disappointed by this restaurant's nonchalance and unfairness towards its customers. I am not usually this forward, but I have made an acceptance on account of such behavior. If I could give this place zero stars I would, however I will grant it a one, as the views were quite exquisite.

It might be worth calling ahead to see if space on the small back upper level is prioritized for those who can't navigate the stairs.

The weather certainly wasn't ideal, but with limited time we had to enjoy the experiences while we had time. The boat was 2 floors, the first floor being entirely inside, the top deck had a covered portion and an open portion. We opted for the top deck for some fresh air. They did offer snacks and drinks for sale on the lower portion, though we didn't even check the rates since we had just had a small lunch. The actual boat ride was around an hour, going out into the lake and around the islands by the small Toronto private airport. Throughout the cruise the trip was narrated, with facts about the city, pointing things out as we pass through the islands and answering questions from passengers. It was definitely an enjoyable trip, nice to sit and relax for a bit and enjoy the fresh air. Seeing the city from the top of the CN Tower was a unique view, but also nice to see the city from the water and the unique shapes that make up the skyline. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE…read more I spent over $400 on 16 tickets for the Sunset Cruise for my birthday on September 27, 2025. We never made it because Toronto was completely gridlocked from the Messi event. I called and was told by one of the operators that I would be able to use the tickets another time, so I wasn't worried. When I actually tried to rebook, nobody answered the phone. After calling over and over, I was forced to use their texting service. Suddenly, I was told my tickets couldn't be used, I couldn't get a refund, and they wouldn't offer any credit or compensation. Instead, they told me to contact travel insurance. I'm from Northern Ontario. Why would I buy travel insurance for a day trip within my own province? Keeping over $400 for tickets that were never used and refusing to work with a customer in any way is terrible business. The complete lack of communication, impossible customer service, and unwillingness to stand behind what your staff told me is unacceptable. I won't be booking with this company again, and I wouldn't recommend anyone else does either.

The weather was warm, the lake was nice and calm and we set out for what ended up being an absolutely incredible day and evening. Our journey began with a warm and friendly greeting by Captain Rhonda. Once we got on the boat, we were given safety instructions and got ready to set sail. Our first stop was on Hanlan's Point where we enjoyed a nice picnic. The beach was packed with women, men and children of all ages. The vibe was great as everyone was soaking up the sun and spending quality time with family and friends. After a few hours of lounging on the beach, we got back on to the boat and toured the west side and south side of the Toronto Islands. Our next stop was Ward's Island. We docked the boat, went for a nice walk on the boardwalk and then stopped in to sit down and have a cold beverage and a wonderful snack at the Rectory Cafe. We then continued our walk, stopped for ice cream and walked around the neighbourhood of Ward's Island. We got back on the boat and continued to explore the east and north side of the Toronto Islands. While on the north side, we explored the lagoons and stopped in to the Toronto Island Marina where a live band was playing just before the sun set. We wanted to be on the water while the sun was setting so we could take in Toronto's breathtaking waterfront. What a sight that was! Pictures don't do a justice! Captain Rhonda is a very friendly and knowledgeable person and knows quite a bit of the history of this fantastic city we call home. She really cares about her customers and will do anything to be accommodating. I would definitely recommend Humber Bay Boating Adventures to anyone who would like an intimate tour of the Toronto Islands and Lake Ontario whether you're in a group or would just like to go out with that special someone. The Guelph Lake is pretty big, if you enjoy boating you will have fun. This location features a number of campsites, some literally with a wake up view of the lake and a breeze. The trail has mostly bush, so wear covered clothing in case of ticks, and a beach. I was somewhat disappointed because the trails were rather "like walking a park" but I'm sure the boating and beaching would be fun when the weather warms up. Admission is roughly $7, with the grca annual pass it's free. The GRCA is not funded by tax payers so they charge for admission.

What a great experience! Like being on cottage lake in the middle of the city. I've been twice this summer - early June in the evening and mid July for 9 AM kayaking. I enjoyed the early morning peace and tranquillity. We were guided by a long line of geese and also saw two egrets along the way. Very peaceful and they make it so easy as they drag the kayaks down to the launch beach. Getting in and especially out of the kayak is challenging. It would be great to have a pole or chair to grab onto to pull yourself up and out. But otherwise, a fabulous not expensive trip away from the hustle and bustle of city life.
