The reason is the boat is much more spacious, and it will allow for better pictures!!! The staff are friendly and informative. The boat ride on the lake is so awesome! You get to ride pass center island and see a point of view you never seen before. There's a speed limit on the inner harbour. And a no wake zone around the island, so you can't go very fast. But other areas on the lake you can go faster but there's still a limit on the boat. Go try it! It's fun and memorable.

Our original reservation was for 5:30, but I got stuck at work. The staff pushed back our reservation til 7:00 without a problem. They made sure we had all the safety instructions and that we still got our full 90 minutes on the water. A very pleasant customer service experience. The boat itself was a clattering old thing, but it worked fine. We couldn't go very fast, but that was probably for the best as my partner had never driven a boat before. It was a beautiful summer week night, and the lake was full of sailboats, tall ships, kayaks, canoes, paddle-boarders and even planes overhead. It felt like being in a busy city park like Christie Pits or Trinity Bellwoods, but so much more beautiful. We brought burritos and soda with us and had a little water picnic in a hidden nook by the Island, and then we watched the sun go down behind the city skyline. One of the best dates I've ever been on and a thoroughly relaxing experience. I plan to go back and get a bigger boat to cruise around with some girlfriends.

I've been twice this summer - early June in the evening and mid July for 9 AM kayaking. I enjoyed the early morning peace and tranquillity. We were guided by a long line of geese and also saw two egrets along the way. Very peaceful and they make it so easy as they drag the kayaks down to the launch beach. Getting in and especially out of the kayak is challenging. It would be great to have a pole or chair to grab onto to pull yourself up and out. But otherwise, a fabulous not expensive trip away from the hustle and bustle of city life.

At night are the most pectacular I've ever seen, and hanging several 100 feet off the ground was well worth the $195 plus tax. Don't forget you also get a ticket for the elevator and Skype, witha coffee or hot chocolate which we used right after. That alone is worth an additional $55. I went up by myself while my guest waited below. I will say everything is VERY WELL EXPLAINED. You feel extremely safe and are secured by two harnesses. I love how to the tour guides take the time to learn everyone's names. While you're on the edge, the tour guides point out landmarks and explain some history. The guides pose you for individual and group photos. This was very exciting for me, but I wouldn't do it again just because I don't need to. If a friend was paying for my second trip I'd definitely do it though!

Taking the ferry to Centre Island is affordable and quick. It was only $9.00 CAD for round trip tickets, and there were 3 points of entry: Centre Island, Ward's Island and Hanlan's Point. We chose to take the Centre Island ferry on a Friday morning. It was very packed but the loading and unloading of passengers was efficient, so things seemed to move pretty quickly. One of the first things you notice about the island are all the bike paths. There are ample opportunities to rent bikes for the day, and we saw many people taking advantage of that. But, if renting bikes isn't on your list, there are plenty of other activities that are totally free. There was also an old lighthouse and a hedge maze to explore. There are also boardwalks leading out to Lake Ontario's coastline where you can get some amazing views into the seemingly endless lake or the Toronto skyline. There were some dining options like pizza or beaver tails, but we opted to skip the food options and have lunch on the mainland. One thing I would note is while we didn't see any personally; a fellow pedestrian jumped when he said he saw a snake in the grass, so if you stray from the paved paths, I would keep an eye out for that. We walked all the way to Hanlan's Point and took the ferry back from that point to the main terminal. It was quick and easy, and made for a fun little morning adventure. What a fantastic resource to have a nice grouping of islands where nature can be experienced right by the water. I loved my trip to Centre Island and to a greater extent, Toronto Island Park. It's definitely worth the visit to get out of the city and indulge in more nature-centric activities.
